Biden picks ex-U.S. Senator Nelson as NASA chief: White House

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-biden-nasa/biden-picks-ex-u-s-senator-nelson-as-nasa-chief-white-house-idUSKBN2BB1KT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Joe Biden has tapped former U.S. senator and astronaut Bill Nelson to lead the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the White House said in a statement on Friday.

Nelson, a Democrat from Florida - home to NASA’s Kennedy Space Station in Cape Canaveral - must secure U.S. Senate approval to be confirmed in the post.

Nelson has long held a deep interest in NASA. He flew on the space shuttle Columbia in 1986 and currently serves on the NASA Advisory Council.

Nelson, who served three terms in the Senate, would take control of NASA as it seeks to return humans to the moon for the first time since the 1970s and expands its reliance on a commercial space industry.

Biden has agreed to continue a program, known as Artemis, that began under former President Donald Trump and aims to put astronauts on the moon by 2024, intended as a prelude to an even more ambitious human Mars landing in the future.

Nelson would succeed Jim Bridenstine, appointed by Trump, as NASA administrator.

Burns confirmed as CIA director as US faces diverse threats

Without opposition, the Senate confirmed veteran diplomat William Burns as CIA director on Thursday, giving him control of the nation's premier spy agency as the U.S. government confronts threats from China, Russia, Iran and elsewhere.

The approval, by voice vote, came soon after Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, lifted a hold he had placed on the nomination.

Burns is a former ambassador to Russia and Jordan who served at the State Department for more than 30 years under both Democratic and Republican presidents. He pledged at his confirmation hearing last month that he would deliver "unvarnished" intelligence to the White House. At that hearing, he described China as posing the "biggest geopolitical test" to the United States and said that Russia, though a declining world power in some ways, remained a disruptive and potent threat.

This week, intelligence agencies released an assessment showing that Russia and Iran had sought to influence the outcome of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, but that China did not interfere.

I disagree. What can we do to "reward" this behavior in the here and now?

>>13255722 (PB)

That wasn't the question. Almost NO ONE was arrested AT the capital. They've been tracked down, isolated and arrested while cleaning their gutters. The insides of their homes have been trashed.

You want sauce? qresear.ch is all the sauce you need. It was postedherejust a day or so ago. It came from GWP so you might browse there, too. You asked a question, you got an answer. I'm not doing your research for you.

The FBI showed up with an armored vehicle with a gun turret to arrest a disabled Army vet in front of his wife and children while he was cleaning his fucking gutters. This, for the crime of walking into the rotunda.

They also locked up his bank accounts … and arranged for his wife to get fired … and that means there is no money to support his family. Next stop … protective services to pick up the kids.

They are FUCKING DIRTY right down to the local level.

This isn't "law enforcement" … this is tyranny.

They could have simply walked up to him, introduced themselves and informed him that he was under arrest for named charges … what could he have done against 2-3 agents? He was NOT accused of any crime of violence so there was ZERO reason for the armored vehicle.

On Thursday evening, after Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the closing of Ile-de-France, it was already almost impossible to reserve a train ticket on the SNCF railways website towards the French Basque areas on the western coast of the country or Brittany, except for in first class at exorbitant prices.

The company said Friday morning that it had received about double the normal number of reservations (73,000 trips sold) compared with the previous day and almost ten times the number of annulments. The most popular destinations for Parisians are Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseilles, Rennes, and Nantes. Trains from Paris to Biarritz were entirely sold out on Thursday evening. Flights to the island of Corsica now cost over 600 euros, more than triple the normal price.

There is enough evidence of him not getting salutes prior (the National Guard as the motorcade went by) to suggest that they know, but if you want the show to "sell" itself to the masses, you have to play along. I would imagine PDJT said "Please make the troops salute; it's too obvious". Make sense?

Media Won’t Care that Joe Biden Fell Down the Stairs Because He Isn’t Donald Trump

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/media-dont-care-that-joe-biden-fell-down-the-stairs-because-he-isnt-donald-trump/

For the love of God, someone please help Joe Biden up the stairs.

It would be, and I say this in all sincerity, a national disaster if Biden seriously hurt himself after needlessly walking up a giant flight of stairs alone to get on Air Force One. Would you let your septuagenarian grandfather or father walk up those stairs? Help the man.

Fact: Joe Biden is an old man.

Democrats have tried to blame Biden’s failing memory and incoherence on a childhood stuttering problem – “facts” become “fat” and so on. This ailment only made a significant appearance in the narrative in 2020, around 50 years into his political career, though it had apparently induced the president into a lifetime of fabulism and nonsensical assertions. This is a bit different. It certainly doesn’t help that Biden was allowed to spend the entire 2020 campaign hiding from reporters, and then refusing for months to give a single press conference. Only this past week, Biden seemed to forget Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name and called Kamala Harris the president again. We don’t know what all that means about his mental sharpness. We rarely see him. But we all know how such events would be covered if the president were a Republican.
