Former FDA Commissioner: "Costly" Social Distancing Mandate "Wasn't Based On Clear Science"

<snippet…>

Then Gottlieb dropped some serious truth bombs (which were mysteriously edited out of CNBC's clip above) saying that within a few weeks, it could be "obvious" that masks may be safely removed, and even more significantly, following CDC's flip-flopping and confusing rules this week on distancing in schools:

"This six-foot distancing requirement has probably been the single costliest mitigation tactic that we've employed in response to COVID… and it really wasn't based on clear science… we should have readjucated this much earlier."

Watch this 70 seconds and consider the source - this is not some 'white supremacist, disinformation-spreading, alt-right blogger', this is the former FDA Commissioner who many mainstream media outlets have listened to verbatim through the crisis.

But, but, but, what about Fauci's "science"?

Vox Pillow Fight - Matt Yglesias Calls out the Fake News of the Atlanta Sheriff, but Then Learns His Writer Was the Source

Currently, the press is in a frenzy of racial hysterics over the Atlanta shooter who took 8 lives this week. Without anything directly pointing to race being the motivator behind the killings — including the killer himself saying otherwise — the media is busying itself in selling us on the concept that this was an intended targeting of Asian Americans. The only issue? Any firm proof supporting their claim.

This lack of tangible evidence, of course, is not seen as a roadblock to a narrative, according to our media complex and in their desperation, they will latch onto any piece of confirmation bias that will help sell their version of events. Aaron Rupar, the resident prevaricator over at Vox, created a storm of outrage when he ‘’reported’’ that the lead officer in the shooting, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Captain Jay Baker, was making sympathetic comments about the shooter. Rupar’s assessment — using his usual method of clipped recordings and contorting the intent — was picked up by numerous news outlets and became a viral detail. And it was all a damned lie.

Rupar was called out for his hackery — eventually — but the intended damage was already inflicted. Tens of thousands of people shared his fable, and the media agreement with it only cemented the lie. Lost in this manufactured hysteria was that this underscored how vacant the accusations were behind the charge of race-based shootings. Even had Baker’s words been accurate (and they most certainly were not) they were completely devoid of a connection to the shooter and his actions. False or accurate, they in no way proved the media storyline, in any fashion. But they needed the outrage to keep the narrative on life support.

The Corruption of the Liberal Media: From the Washington Post to Atlanta

Over at The Federalist, Mark Hemingway had this to say:

“In sum: The Washington Post anonymously printed fabricated quotes they knew were from a second-hand source in the office of a political enemy, couldn’t confirm the quotes with additional sourcing, still attributed them to the sitting president of the United States, used those quotes as a basis to speculate the president committed a crime, and the Democratic party would later repeatedly cite the bogus article when attempting to impeach Trump for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors.’

But wait! It gets much worse. Several other major media outlets — including NBC, ABC, USA Today, PBS, and CNN — ‘confirmed’ the fabricated quotes from the Post’s anonymous source by, get this, citing their own anonymous sources.”

Bill Maher: The Left Is Ushering in a New Era of 'Resegregation'

On “Real Time,” the host asked, “How will [resegregation] affect elections in the future?”

David seemed of a similar mind, asserting that “racially integrated schools make people more liberal.”

And Shor dropped a bomb; are most nonwhite folks liberal? He thinks not:

“I think just to go back, I think that the important thing is to just realize that most nonwhite voters are not liberal. They don’t identify as liberal. We should take that really seriously.”

As noted by The Daily Caller, Shor conveyed a kindred idea to NYMag.com concerning Hispanic voters:

[F]or one thing, the extent to which Hispanic voters have liberal views on immigration is exaggerated. If you look at, for example, decriminalizing border crossings, that’s not something that a majority of Hispanic voters support. Pew’s done a lot of polling on immigration reform, and if you ask things like, “Should we deport the undocumented population, should we give them a path to permanent residency, or should we give them a path to citizenship?” citizenship only gets a little over 50 percent support among Hispanic voters. So I think liberals really essentialize Hispanic voters and project views about immigration onto them that the data just doesn’t support.

It certainly makes sense to focus on things with which we all agree — not long ago, that was part and parcel of downplaying skin color: We’re bound by the things we have in common.
