It's almost like no one is allowed to criticize CCP. Hmm.
[F]or one thing, the extent to which Hispanic voters have liberal views on immigration is exaggerated. If you look at, for example, decriminalizing border crossings, thatâs not something that a majority of Hispanic voters support. Pewâs done a lot of polling on immigration reform, and if you ask things like, âShould we deport the undocumented population, should we give them a path to permanent residency, or should we give them a path to citizenship?â citizenship only gets a little over 50 percent support among Hispanic voters. So I think liberals really essentialize Hispanic voters and project views about immigration onto them that the data just doesnât support.

Leftist Media Bias Is a Threat to Democracy, Judge Warns in Scathing Dissent
âThe increased power of the press is so dangerous today because we are very close to one-party control of these institutions,â Silberman warned. âOur court was once concerned about the institutional consolidation of the press leading to a âbland and homogenousâ marketplace of ideas. It turns out that ideological consolidation of the press (helped along by economic consolidation) is the far greater threat.â
âAlthough the bias against the Republican Partyânot just controversial individualsâis rather shocking today, this is not new; it is a long-term, secular trend going back at least to the â70s. (I do not mean to defend or criticize the behavior of any particular politician). Two of the three most influential papers (at least historically), The New York Times and The Washington Post, are virtually Democratic Party broadsheets. And the news section of The Wall Street Journal leans in the same direction,â Silberman noted. He added that these papers set the âorientationâ of coverage for the Associated Press and most large papers across the country.
âNearly all televisionânetwork and cableâis a Democratic Party trumpet,â the judge added. âEven the government-supported National Public Radio follows along.â
Silberman also noted the tremendous influence âSilicon Valleyâ enjoys over âthe distribution of news. And it similarly filters news delivery in ways favorable to the Democratic Party.â He cited Facebookâs and Twitterâs actions to suppress The New York Postâs bombshell story about Joe Bidenâs involvement with Hunter Bidenâs notorious foreign deals.
âIt should be borne in mind that the first step taken by any potential authoritarian or dictatorial regime is to gain control of communications, particularly the delivery of news,â Silberman argued. âIt is fair to conclude, therefore, that one-party control of the press and media is a threat to a viable democracy. It may even give rise to countervailing extremism.â
