Report: Woke Pentagon Worried Troops View BLM/Antifa and Capitol Hill Riots Equally

“The Pentagon is also weighing whether any additional mechanisms are needed, such as ways for service members to confidentially report potential extremist behavior within their units.”

During his confirmation hearing, now-Penatgon chief Lloyd Austin vowed to purge “ideological enemies . . . within our own ranks.” Wasting little time, he ordered a military-wide “stand down” to address extremism within our nation’s armed forces.

Reports are now surfacing that the Pentagon is distressed that their attempts to ferret out wrongthink under the guise of ‘extremism’ have a hit a snag.

Apparently, some military members view the events at the Capitol on January 6th and the year-long BLM/antifa rioting, looting, vandalism, arson, and murder as equally problematic. This reportedly “worries” Pentagon officials.

CNN's Chris Cuomo sees viewership plummet as brother remains embroiled in scandals

The show is now experiencing its lowest ratings of the past year, attracting an average of only 1.2 million viewers between Mar 15 and 17.

Viewership of CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time" has plummeted in recent months as host Chris Cuomo's brother, Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, faces increasing calls to resign over various scandals which have plagued his administration, Fox News reports.

"Cuomo Prime Time" peaked at 2.2 million average viewers during the second quarter of 2020 and finished the year with 1.8 million, making it the most-watched program on CNN. At the time, Cuomo regularly brought his brother on the program to discuss issues such as the coronavirus pandemic in New York. At the time, the Governor received widespread praise from liberal media outlets for his state's handling of the pandemic.

The drop in ratings has been most prevalent among middle-aged adults, with a 42 percent decline in ratings being observed in the demographic of people ages 25-54. Adults aged 25-54 is considered the "key demographic."

Homicides Up 300% In Oakland, But City Plans To Slash Police Budget

Just a few months ago, the defund police movement was gaining traction in many cities across country, but the popularity of the idea appears to be waning, particularly in cities that have seen a sharp rise in violent crime coinciding with a “reimagining” of policing. In Minneapolis, the push to defund police is meeting growing opposition from residents who complain that their neighborhoods are being turned into war zones, and a national poll released last week found just 18% of respondents were in favor of the movement.

The idea still has its defenders however, but as Abené Clayton of The Guardian reports, the shocking increase in homicides in Oakland, California could get in the way of Oakland’s effort to cut the police budget by 50% this year. In a story entitled “Surge In Gun Violence Is Stress Test For Oakland’s Defund The Police Campaign,” (a bizarre way to frame the staggering rise in homicides, in my opinion) Clayton frets that with homicides up by more than 300% compared to the same time period last year, Oakland’s violent criminals are providing reasons to keep funding the police department.

Purdue Pharma Conducted Massive Probe Of The Sacklers, But The Findings Are Secret

Purdue Pharma, the maker of Oxycontin, conducted what may be the most extensive investigation yet of the Sackler family, exploring whether they committed crimes or financial improprieties, but the company has kept most of its findings secret.

In a bankruptcy filing late Monday, the drugmaker acknowledged hiring attorneys, forensic accountants and other financial experts to probe members of the family who own the company and profited billions from opioid sales.

According to the filing, the team searched for evidence of wrongdoing by the family, reporting to a special committee of Purdue's board between April 2019 and earlier this month.

Yet in its filing, Purdue Pharma chose to reveal almost nothing of what investigators uncovered, a decision that infuriates opioid activists and some government officials.

"They're still trying to cover up the facts," said Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, who has sued the company and it owners, in a statement.

"Purdue's disclosure filing says it paid its lawyers for a 22,000-hour investigation of the Sacklers, but it doesn't disclose any of their findings," she added.

Ghislaine Maxwell case details too 'sensational and impure' for public, judge says

A federal judge on Thursday agreed with Ghislaine Maxwell’s request to keep certain details in the criminal case against her secret — finding that information would be too "sensational and impure" to reveal to the public.

U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan issued a ruling on redactions that Maxwell had asked for regarding transcripts the government filed under seal last month.

"Those portions of the transcript, which were redacted in the civil matter, concern privacy interests and their disclosure would merely serve to cater to a ‘craving for that which is sensational and impure,’" Nathan wrote in the order.
