>this is a movie
>Fukushima was not
fukushima is more of a movie than you might think. just remember, all the radioactive material in a reactor came out of the earth to begin with. the volume of the oceans is estimated at 1.3 billion cubic kilometers. if all the radioactive material in fukushima leaked into the ocean, it would eventually be diluted to a level orders of magnitude LESS than natural background radiation. yes, there will be a hot spot near the reactor for a while. but in the long run, it's a non-event. how much radioactive material do you think is scattered into the atmosphere when there's a major volcanic eruption? don't know, do you? 'cause that doesn't make sensational headlines with political ramifications. my advice… read a book. read lots of books.
