penguinsix: "I took a trip up to the US Capitol as the police announced late on Friday โno credible threats existโ against the US Capitol and that the fence thatโs surrounded so much of that area will be removed this weekend. I went up on Saturday and again on Sunday to survey the situation and yes, some of the fences are down, some of the roads are opened, but plenty of fences still remain. Fences (sans razor wire) and bicycle racks are still everywhere to be seen, and a large portion of the US Capitol Square itself (the main building) is still inaccessible. But hey, baby steps."
