The dems in congress want to take away the nuclear launch capability of POTUS. And they would decide. Does that power go away? What about next president? We’d be at the mercy of the bureaucracy if anything ever happened (god forbid).

I’m surprised this doesn’t alarm more people. If Biden is too senile to be trusted to have this power then he should resign. Why strip away this authority when it is necessary for the commander in chief to be able to make a quick decision. If congress takes that power away then it would take a long time to get the partisan fucks to stop arguing about what to do and it would be already over for us by that time. Literally would put us in checkmate by doing this and would be the final nail in America’s coffin.
I hope to God they don’t give this authority to congress and strip POTUS or most importantly any future POTUS of this power.

If he is too senile he should resign. All POTUS powers should remain intact for future presidents and not diminish because they put a senile man in office.
If congress has control over the nuclear launch decisions then the ability to respond quickly would be diminished because congress is too partisan to make quick decisions. Congress is designed to operate as a slow and drawn out process and is not suited for such a task.
This would be a wet dream for China they’d literally have us in checkmate!
