I came with other people that remember at least one of the things I do remember. Namely the death of Gillian Anderson. There is no record today of her death. But she clearly died in our timeline.
About your question of how does this work, my knowledge on the subject is that all timelines exist at the same time. Time is a dimension in itself, just like width or height. Therefore past and future only exist in our perception. In the same fashion timelines are just an upper dimension above time.
It's not easy to jump timelines. If what I think I did to make it work is what really worked… then I'm telling you now: I don't think I'm doing it again.
