My parents (if still alive) could've called me a liberal until about 5 months ago.
A more appropriate term would've been libertarian but I had socialist leanings.
My ethics of taking care of everybody didn't change, only my perspective on politics.. I'm still a bleeding heart, I'm just not a bleeding heart liberal. Conservative doesn't describe it either.
Your boy sounds smart. As the parent, it's always our job to be the bigger person. So don't red pill him, but maybe instead gain his agreement and understanding by appealing to his intelligence and not talking down to him.
