HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Life Foundation, Hawai'i's oldest and largest AIDS organization, and The CHOW Project, which works with individuals, families, and communities affected by drug use, have announced they are merging together to form a new organization with combined services called the Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center (HHHRC). The two organizations both use a harm reduction approach to their services, and this move will allow them to provide a more streamlined approach to their programs which help and empower people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, drug use, and the transgender, LGBQ and the Native Hawaiian communities.

Life Foundation was founded in 1983 as one of the first AIDS programs in the country, and The CHOW Project was founded in 1993 and is a leader in supporting the optimal health and well-being of people affected by drug use in Hawai'i.

To celebrate the merger, the newly formed Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center (HHHRC) will hold an Open House and Blessing. This event will be free and open to the public, and will serve as an opportunity to learn about HHHRC's combined programs and view their newly built on-site health clinic.
