Oh boy, here we go. There is going to be a huge market for amateur content in the years to come. First thing that happens when you enforce laws like this is you create black markets for them. And no, the feds aren't going to be able to catch/bust every person with a cell phone filming themselves and uploading it online. It's literally protected free speech (as long as all parties involved are consenting and 18+). As we learned with GDP, even when you consent and sign a contract, you can still fight it in court and win.
Creating these laws before addressing the actual problem does nothing but gum up the judicial system with people that aren't involved with trafficking in the least. Fixing the problem involved destroying their networks. The porn industry itself will shrink massively once the trafficking networks are mostly stopped. Porn production will continue, however, and it'll likely be the most heavily regulated industry of all. It won't have the revenue it has now because the major backers, the ones pumping out the content that's even mainstream, are all associated with the trafficking networks in one way or another.
Was reading the other day that even places like Metart have their earlier beginnings in underage models. When their "style" started becoming more appealing to people and took off, they immediately halted "scouting" talent that is underage. So self-regulation does work when the penalties are stiff enough against the producers, and law enforcement works within confines of actual laws' instead of arbitrary bullshit to crack down on producers, not consumers themselves.
Important shit to keep in mind going forward. Laws and secular governance can draw inspiration from morals, but by no means should the police be given license to arrest people that consume media that is legal to consume. States going against that which is actually protected under the 1st amendment should also face repercussions for violating the terms of the constitution.
The slippery slope goes both ways, folks. Not trying to defend coomers and traffickers. But Porn is covered under the 1st amendment. Pic very related. If you let puritans take over control of your laws, you're going to have this type of stuff ejected from museums due to "indecency" laws making a huge comeback. Again, all of which violated the first amendment.
