Bill Gates has predicted that the world will be “completely back to normal” from the COVID-19 pandemic by the end of 2022.

The Microsoft founder said the health crisis has been an “incredible tragedy,” but one bright spot has been the arrival of vaccines.

“By the end of 2022 we should be basically completely back to normal,” Gates said in an interview for Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza and television broadcaster TVN24.

Dominion Voting Systems Sue FOX News for $1.6 Billion over 2020 Elections — Follows Smartmatic Lawsuit

Dominion Voting Systems sued FOX News on Friday for $1.6 billion in a defamation lawsuit.

Back in November FOX News host Dana Perino urged Dominion Voting Systems to sue Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.

FOX News was also sued by Smartmatic following the 2020 election.

Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News on Friday, arguing the cable news giant falsely claimed in an effort to boost faltering ratings that the voting company had rigged the 2020 election.

The lawsuit is part of a growing body of legal action filed by the voting company and other targets of misleading, false and bizarre claims spread by President Donald Trump and his allies in the aftermath of Trump’s election loss to Joe Biden. Those claims helped spur on rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 in a violent siege that left five people dead, including a police officer. The siege led to Trump’s historic second impeachment.

Dominion argues that Fox News, which amplified inaccurate assertions that Dominion altered votes, “sold a false story of election fraud in order to serve its own commercial purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process,” according to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by The Associated Press.

“The truth matters. Lies have consequences,” the lawsuit said. “Fox sold a false story of election fraud in order to serve its own commercial purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process. If this case does not rise to the level of defamation by a broadcaster, then nothing does.”

Even before Dominion’s lawsuit on Friday, Fox News had already filed four motions to dismiss other legal actions against its coverage.

Massachusetts 8th Grade Science Teacher Outed as Member of Antifa That Berated Cops and Children at Recent Protest

A science teacher at Mansfield Public Schools has been outed as a far-left extremist who harassed police officers and children during a recent anti-lockdown protest.

Jill Sheridan is an 8th grade science teacher at Qualters Middle School in Mansfield — as well as an active participant in extremist Antifa protests.

At least one of her extremist friends who also attended the protest was armed and arrested for assault and battery.

“Over the weekend in Bridgewater she and several of her Antifa friends decided to disrupt an anti-lockdown rally in the center of town, in which three of her friends were arrested for assaulting police officers and carrying guns. It should be noted that she was in town for a BLM rally, which was a mile away from the anti-lockdown rally. She chose to leave that rally and disrupt the anti-lockdown rally, rather than peacefully rally in defense of black lives,” Turtle Boy Sports, who first broke the news of her extremism, reported.

On Facebook, the teacher is friends with Jake Zawalick, who was arrested at the protest and charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, affray, resisting arrest and carrying a dangerous weapon while committing a breach of peace.

TBS also obtained a video of the teacher “harassing police officers, removing her mask when she gets close to them in order to try to get peaceful protesters arrested, and then sadistically targeting what appears to be two kids who were observing the madness.” The video can be viewed in their report.

The teacher also argued with concerned parents who do not want her teaching their children. Turtle Boy has saved many of those conversations on their website.

Democracy has seen 500,000 US Covid deaths: China hits back as Biden says Xi Jinping ‘doesn’t have a democratic bone in his body’

The Chinese foreign ministry has issued a stern rebuke of US President Joe Biden’s criticism of Beijing’s supposed lack of democratic values, claiming a label of democracy is not as important as looking after a country’s people.

Speaking on Friday, foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying addressed comments made by the US president in his first solo press conference on Thursday, in which Biden claimed Chinese leader Xi Jinping “doesn’t have a democratic bone in his body.”

Hua said that the issues of democracy and centralization were not important as long as the state can “bring political stability, social progress, and improve people’s livelihood.” The spokeswoman stated that Beijing “pursues a people-centered philosophy” which is in stark contrast “to the US electoral politics centered on partisan political interests.”

Turning to the US’ internal challenges, the spokeswoman highlighted flaws in American democracy, claiming that it was not working in the best interest of its people despite its perceived wealth and power.

No matter how much a country boasts of its democratic values, it sat by and watched more than 500,000 people die from the epidemic without doing anything, and more than 40,000 people killed by gun violence each year without doing anything.

Speaking on Thursday, President Biden admitted the challenge that China poses to US hegemony and made a number of comments about the Chinese leader. “He doesn’t have a democratic – with a small ‘d’ – bone in his body, but he’s a smart, smart guy,” Biden said about Xi Jinping.

The president also stated that he would ensure the US isn’t overtaken by China as the world’s number one power. “They have an overall goal to become the leading country in the world, the wealthiest country in the world and the most powerful country in the world. That’s not going to happen on my watch.”

China’s relations with the US have shown few signs of improving since the Biden Administration came to office. In recent weeks, the US and its allies have blasted Beijing for alleged human rights abuses in Xinjiang province. Beijing denies any wrongdoing.

US Navy Heads To Suez Canal To "Assess" Stuck Container Ship After Failed Refloating Attempts

Update (1300ET): Vessels headed to the Suez Canal are already changing course as it could take days to refloat Ever Given.

Refinitiv data shows LNG tanker Pan Americas deviated from its route in the Atlantic Ocean on Mar. 24, likely due to Suez's developments. The tanker appears to be headed around the Cape of Good Hope.

We noted earlier that a sail around the Cape of Good Hope instead of the Suez Canal could add an extra ten days, plus additional fuel costs.

Update (1221): CNN's Barbara Starr reports the US Navy will send an "assessment team of dredging experts to Suez Canal as soon as Saturday to advise authorities on options to try to free the stuck tanker Ever Given." Starr said the report was confirmed by two US Department of Defense officials.

At least 32 dead, 66 injured as two trains crash in southern Egypt

Two trains have collided near the Egyptian city of Sohag, killing 32 people and injuring at least 66 others. The country's prime minister is chairing a crisis meeting in response.

Dramatic footage showed people trying to rescue passengers trapped inside the twisted wreckage outside Sohag, some 300 miles south of the capital, Cairo.

At least 36 ambulances were sent to the site of the crash and took victims to local hospitals, the health ministry said in a statement.

Three carriages were derailed as one train crashed into the back of another, although the exact cause of the accident has not yet been reported.

The Egyptian prime minister Mostafa Madbouly has chaired a crisis meeting, Al Jazeera reported.

The news outlet also said the Minister of Transport, Lieutenant General Kamel al-Wazir, has ordered that the drivers of both trains be detained.

It comes after another crash two years ago at Cairo's Ramses Station killed 24 people and caused an explosion and a fire.

In 2017, Egypt saw some 1,793 train accidents, according to the most recent data.

Video Shows Saudi Red Sea Oil Terminal Ablaze After Fresh Drone Attack

Video has emerged of the aftermath of yet another Yemeni Houthi drone and missile attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. A Houthi military statement has since confirmed it was behind the sabotage operation targeting key Saudi sites.

In the early hours of Friday a statement from the Saudi Oil Ministry confirmed that an oil terminal on the kingdom's Red Sea coast was struck by bomb-laden drones out of Yemen.

As a result an oil terminal in Jizan, which lies just north of the Sauid-Yemen border, was engulfed in fire but which left no casualties. As cited in state-run SPA, a Saudi spokesman condemned the "cowardly attack against vital installations".

The statement further underscored that these ongoing and ramped-up attacks, multiple of which have occurred within just the past month, "not only target the Kingdom, but also petroleum exports, the stability of energy supply to the world, freedom of world trade, as well as the global economy."

Unconfirmed social media videos which circulated in the aftermath showed flames shooting high over the Jizan facility.

The port city has actually been targeted many times, and has a new high-tech refinery which is described as follows: "Jizan is home to a new refinery and port facilities for the energy giant Saudi Arabian Oil Co. The refinery, with a capacity of 400,000 barrels a day, sent its first shipment abroad last year."

As MarketWatch notes: "Benchmark Brent crude BRNK21, 3.54% rose to over $62 a barrel in early trading Friday after the attack. Energy prices have risen recently off growing demand as coronavirus vaccinations increase and Egypt’s Suez Canal remains closed due to a massive container ship wedged across the vital waterway."

It initiated within past days the "Confrontation 4" joint exercises which were geared specifically toward raising "readiness" to thwart future "terrorist attacks" on Saud energy and resource infrastructure.

People in Oregon and Washington witnessed an unusual spectacle on Thursday night, when a used second stage of a Falcon 9 rocket broke down and burned up in the atmosphere over their heads.

Space X is yet to confirm that the debris filmed by many amused witnesses on the US northwestern coast was part of its rocket ending its life cycle, but its origin was identified by multiple amateur astronomers.

Facebook platforms used for most online child sex abuse, UK charity says, warns pedophiles thrive if encryption isn’t limited

The UK’s leading child-protection charity says pedophiles, abusers and groomers are thriving on Facebook’s social media platforms, with end-to-end encryption giving them a perfect opportunity to abuse children and victims.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) said that Facebook’s platforms had been used in more than half (52%) of all online child sex crimes over the past year. UK police recorded more than 9,400 cases where online communication was being used to commit sexual or indecent image offences against children between October 2019 and September 2020.

Because end-to-end encryption allows every conversation to be private, there’s little opportunity to safeguard children from abusers and groomers, the charity warned.

It fears more crimes will go unreported or undetected if big tech companies expand encryption, adding the national lockdown became a catalyst for even more online activity by groomers and abusers.

“The proposals to extend end-to-end encryption on messaging platforms mean they are essentially putting a blindfold on itself,” said Andy Burrows, head of the NSPCC’s child safety online policy, adding social networks won’t be able to identify child abuse images or grooming of victims on sites.

Because abusers know they will be able to operate with impunity, therefore it means that not only will current levels of abuse go largely undetected, but it’s highly likely that we’ll see more child abuse.

Instagram is being exploited more and more by offenders, the NSPCC said, and the Facebook-owned site accounts for more than a third of all incidents. And the charity wants police to be able to see what’s being posted.

There was no immediate reaction from Facebook. The platform’s transparency policy said it does not allow content that sexually exploits or endangers children and reports apparent child exploitation to authorities.

The NSPCC urged the UK government to compel tech firms to prioritize child safety when they are designing platforms.

A new ‘Online Safety Bill’ is being drafted by the UK government and a spokesman for it said the burden will fall on social media companies to prove they’re doing all they can to keep children safe, adding “they will not be able to use encryption as an excuse.”

Mitt Romney Wins John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for Impeachment Vote

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) was named to receive the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award Friday for being the only Republican who voted to convict former President Donald Trump in his first impeachment trial.

“The award was created by the family of the late president to honor public figures who risk their careers by embracing unpopular positions for the greater good, and is named after Kennedy’s 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, ‘Profiles in Courage,'” NBC 5 reported.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum’s website said Romney’s “courageous stand was historic.”

“Senator Romney’s commitment to our Constitution makes him a worthy successor to the Senators who inspired my father to write Profiles in Courage,” former Ambassador Caroline Kennedy commented.

“He reminds us that our Democracy depends on the courage, conscience, and character of our elected officials,” she continued.

Kennedy and her son, Jack Schlossberg, will present the award during a virtual ceremony in May.

In February, hundreds signed an online petition criticizing Romney and state GOP leaders for not censuring the lawmaker over his vote to convict Trump, Breitbart News reported:

“Senator Willard Mitt Romney has failed, and continues to fail, to represent the average conservative Utah Republican voter,” the petition states, declaring that the Utah senator has “misrepresented himself as a Republican” and concluding that he has “prioritized his personal and political vendetta against President Donald J. Trump ahead of the Constitution of the United States, the interest of We, the People, and the advancement of the Republican Platform.”

The petition brought up Romney’s past conduct, identifying him as the only GOP senator to join Democrats in voting to convict Trump on one of the articles of impeachment during the Democrats’ failed impeachment attempt last year. It also criticized Romney for supporting the continuation of the “unconstitutional” impeachment trial of Trump by voting to allow witnesses.

However, Romney has since said he is “pretty sure” former President Trump would be the GOP presidential nominee if he chose to run again in 2024, according to Breitbart News.

“I think he’d win the nomination if he runs,” Romney commented, adding, “I mean, a lot can happen between now and 2024.”

Ted Cruz to VP Harris: ‘Allow Media to Film’ CBP Centers Holding Migrant Kids

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) called out Vice President Kamala Harris over the border crisis late on Wednesday, requesting that the Biden Administration grant media access to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities dealing with the influx of unaccompanied children and other migrants.

Cruz, who serves on the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations and the Judiciary, asked the administration for transparency via Twitter, ahead of his trip Friday to a migrant processing facility in Donna, located in the portion of the U.S. border that lies in Texas where 17 other lawmakers will join him.

President Joe Biden recently tapped Harris to lead efforts to stem the flow of migrants, even as the administration continues to call the situation a “challenge, rather than a ‘crisis.'”

Republicans and the Presidents of El Salvador and Mexico suggested the Biden administration’s policies are to blame for the influx of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Addressing the VP, Sen Cruz wrote on Twitter late Wednesday night:

[Seventeen] senators are joining me at the TX border [Friday]. The Biden admin is refusing to allow [the] press to see the CBP facilities. Since you’ve promised to “release children from cages,” surely your admin will allow media to film the empty cages. If not, what are you hiding?

Sen. Cruz took Harris on a ride down memory lane, reminding his followers she tweeted in 2019 that, as president, she would release children from cages and do away with private immigration detention centers that continue to operate.

Under mounting pressure to grant media access, the White House on Wednesday allowed a congressional delegation and one network pool reporter and camera crew to visit a shelter in Carrizo Springs, Texas, run by the U.S. Department of Health Human Services (HHS).

HHS facilities, like the one in Carrizo Springs, are better equipped to deal with minors.

The HHS facility in Texas visited by the one TV reporter is reportedly not over capacity like the CBP migrant processing center in Donna, Texas, seen in recently released photos highlighting crowded and “inhumane” conditions.

On Tuesday, CBP, a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), also released B-roll footage and still images of its Donna and El Paso temporary processing facilities to media members.

Similar to pictures of the Donna facility that a Democrat congressman released to the media the previous day, the photos disseminated by CBP show crowded areas, including kids sleeping shoulder-to-shoulder on mats on the floor with aluminum blankets and on benches. They also show dozens of children in a transparent pen.

“In order to protect the health and safety of our workforce and those in our care, we continue to discourage external visitors in our facilities; however, CBP is working to balance the need for public transparency and accountability,” the agency said in a statement.

“We will look for ways to continue to increase transparency and provide additional access,” Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, added at a White House briefing Wednesday.

It appears Sen. Cruz was neither satisfied or impressed with the White House allowing one camera into an uncrowded HHS facility or the release of video footage and photos by CBP in the wake of transparency pressure by members of the president’s own party.

Hours before sending out his tweet addressing VP Harris about the border crisis, Cruz blasted the lack of transparency involving the treatment of children at CBP facilities.

The 'disinformation dozen': Two-thirds of anti-vaxx content circulating on Facebook and Twitter can be traced back to just 12 people including Robert F Kennedy Jr, report claims

Around two-thirds of viral anti-vaccine social media content circulating on Facebook and Twitter has been linked to just 12 notable individuals in new research.

Content that was shared more than 812,000 times on the social media platforms between February 1 and March 16 was analysed by The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) and Anti-Vax Watch alliance.

The alliance found that up to 65 percent of the content was attributed to 12 people, dubbed the 'disinformation dozen', including Robert F Kennedy Jr, a prolific anti-vaccine campaigner and son of former US attorney general Robert Kennedy.

In the 40-page report, the CCDH and Anti-Vax Watch alliance variety a breakdown of examples of the types of posts being shared by the 12 people, and devoted a number of pages to each person.

Examples of their posts were included in the report. Some posts perpetuated conspiracy theories relating to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, unfounded claims that vaccines cause harm to specific groups, or that vaccines cause autism.

Other posts from the 12 people claimed that the coronavirus pandemic was not real, that masks had no effect on transmission, shared unproven coronavirus treatments and the unfounded claim that Covid-19 vaccines pose a threat to pregnant women.

In addition to anti-vaxx and Covid-19 content, the examples also included posts that used racist antisemitic imagery, such as one post shared by Erin Elizabeth in which she perpetuated a prominent conspiracy theory about the Rothschild family.

The most prolific spreader of anti-vaccine content was Joseph Mercola, an alternative medicine entrepreneur who has over 3.6m followers across Facebook, Instagram and Facebook, the report said.

Mercola has previously been warned by the US Food and Drug Administration to stop selling supplements that claimed to treat coronavirus.

Ty and Charlene Bollinger, anti-vaxxer campaigners who have promoted the conspiracy theory that Bill Gates plans to inject humans with microchips in Covid-Vaccines, were also on the list.

Mask-sceptic physician Sherri Tenpenny and conspiracy theorist and influencer Rizza Islam also featured on the list.

A Johns Hopkins professor has slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci for denying that the United States is approaching herd immunity amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Marty Makary, who is also a Fox News contributor, told Brian Kilmeade on Thursday that 'it's not healthy for a small group of people' to be making all the health decisions for Americans.

'I don't think it's healthy for a small group of people to be making all the public health recommendations. It's good to have multiple voices,' Makary said.

He claims that the low rate of reinfections and high percentages of people showing antibodies indicate that the United States is approaching herd immunity through both vaccinations and natural immunity, which he claims Fauci has ignored.

There have been more than 133 million vaccines administered in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As of Thursday, there have been 30,076,486 total infections with 546,507 deaths from COVID-19.

The Johns Hopkins professor slammed Fauci's track record throughout the pandemic and for initially missing the mark on how the virus is transmitted, the effectiveness of masks and mitigation.

'His job is to prepare us for a pandemic and tell us how to manage it. He mostly missed the pandemic for the two months prior, never prepared us, was wrong on masks,' Makary said.

'We should have known that but the aerosolized transmission because Sars-CoV-2 behaves like Sars-CoV-1. That was aerosolized droplets as well. He was around for that.'

During the segment, Makary explained why he believed Americans have already started to reach herd immunity.

'After you get the infection, your body develops antibodies. These are the same antibodies the vaccine is trying to trigger and create,' Makary said.

'When you have circulating antibodies, that means have you protection from the infection.'

The San Francisco Chronicle reported earlier this month that about 38% of Californians had antibodies against the coronavirus, according to figures presented during a virtual meeting hosted by the California Medical Association.

During the webinar, researchers said that 45% of people in Los Angeles have these antibodies. The Bay Area and greater Sacramento region each recorded 32% of the population with COVID-19 antibodies.

Makary pointed to this data as evidence that Americans are approaching herd immunity.

'That's why infections are down 95% in Los Angeles over the last 10 weeks, their positivity rate is down to 1.6% right now,' Makary said.

Los Angeles County saw just 608 new cases and 66 deaths reported on Thursday, according to the health department's website.

'Reinfections are very rare. That means, naturally immunity is real,' Makary said.

Beverly Hills esthetician and eyelash stylist Gina Bisignano was so present on social media that the federal criminal complaint against her practically wrote itself.

The story of a 52-year-old salon owner who charted a dark path of disinformation to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, where she allegedly grabbed a bullhorn and urged rioters to take up weapons, is backed by one social media post after another embedded in the Department of Justice filing.

There is Bisignano in her Louis Vuitton sweater, filmed in front of the Capitol talking about her business and hometown as the riot was getting underway. There she is again, addressing rioters with a rant about globalists, George Soros and stolen votes. And again, calling for weapons and gas masks moments before a rioter attacks an officer with what appears to be a baseball bat.

Now, Bisignano has gone silent online. She is not allowed on the internet. Not because social media platforms banned her, but because a federal judge did. If Bisignano goes online while awaiting trial, she risks being jailed.

Judges have long been reluctant to ban anyone from the internet, a restriction that essentially cuts a person off from much of modern society and has been reserved mostly for accused and convicted pedophiles. But as toxic disinformation becomes an increasingly dangerous threat, driving domestic terrorism and violence, the courts are facing vexing new questions around how often and under what circumstances those accused of taking part should be taken offline altogether.

“We are headed into uncharted waters,” said Nina Jankowicz, a fellow at the Wilson Center, a Washington think tank, where she studies disinformation. “Given the threats we see continuing and the heightened alerts, it is clear things are not dissipating. … That is why judges are making these calls.”

In the case of Bisignano, the ban might have been an easy one for the judge to make. The defendant asked for it. Her lawyer saw it as one of the few bargaining chips the Capitol riot suspect from California had to stay out of jail for now.

“If it weren’t for social media, she wouldn’t even be a defendant,” said Bisignano’s attorney, Charles Peruto. “She knows that is what got her jammed in the first place.”

Yet attorneys for others accused of taking part in the attack on the Capitol are aggressively fighting the restrictions, and judges are struggling with how far to take them.

Prosecutors have moved to bar at least five defendants in the Capitol insurrection from going on social media platforms or even going online at all, according to a review of court filings by The Times. Those defendants are awaiting trial dates that will be months away as the Justice Department grapples with one of the most complex and all-consuming investigations in its history.

Russian Defense Advisor Accuses US of Waging Psychological War

In recent weeks, the US has slapped sanctions on Russia, accused of election meddling with no evidence, and President Biden called Putin a 'killer'

An advisor to Russia’s defense minister said the US and other Western countries are waging a psychological war against Moscow and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“A new type of warfare … is starting to appear. I call it, for the sake of argument, mental war,” said Andrei Ilnitsky, who advises Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. “A war is being waged for people’s minds,” he said in comments to Russia’s Spas TV. Ilnitsky said the US is using “informational” and economic measures to undermine Putin and Russian institutions.

When asked if he agreed with Ilnitsky’s assessment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “A deliberate policy to contain and keep Russia down is being pursued. It is absolutely constant and visible to the naked eye.”

Examples that could be considered “psychological warfare” from the US towards Russia are the constant accusations Washington hurls at Moscow that are not backed by evidence.

For example, the US blames Moscow for the hack of the software firm SolarWinds that affected several government agencies. But besides a claim from US intelligence agencies that the hack was “likely” carried out by Russia, no evidence has been presented to show Moscow was responsible, and it was revealed that a password for SolarWinds’ server was publicly available on the internet for years.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence recently released a report that claimed Putin ordered an influence campaign to “denigrate” President Biden during the 2020 elections. But again, no evidence backs up the claim, and the report does not explain how the intelligence officials reached this conclusion. Regardless of the lack of evidence, President Biden has said Putin will “pay a price” for the alleged interference.

In the same interview that he threatened action over dubious election interference allegations, President Biden agreed that Putin is a “killer” and said the Russian leader has “no soul.” Besides the rhetoric, the Biden administration is also taking economic action against Moscow.

The US recently slapped sanctions on Russia that were coordinated with the EU over the jailing of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny. Reports say the Biden administration is preparing sanctions over the claims of election interference. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is warning more sanctions are coming that will target the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline that would connect Russia to Germany.

Georgia's restrictive new voting law hit with legal challenge

Voting rights groups on Thursday night filed a lawsuit just hours after Georgia enacted a Republican-crafted law that gives state lawmakers more power over elections and imposes a raft of new voting restrictions.

The 35-page complaint filed in federal court in Atlanta alleges that minority voters will be hit especially hard by the new legislation, which plaintiffs say illegally suppresses voters’ rights in violation of constitutional protections and the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

According to the lawsuit, the new restrictions are “clearly intended to and will have the effect of making it harder for lawful Georgia voters to participate in the State’s elections,” adding that the measure will impose “unjustifiable burdens” that disproportionately impact people of color, as well as young, poor and disabled voters.

The lawsuit was filed shortly after Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signed a sweeping elections bill into law, tightening voting rules in the Peach State by limiting the use of ballot drop boxes and setting photo ID requirements for absentee voting, among other restrictions.

The GOP-controlled state General Assembly gave final approval to the measure in a party-line vote Thursday.

Democrats notched crucial victories in recent Georgia races, both in 2020 and earlier this year. The state sent two Democratic senators to Washington after a pair of January runoff elections handed Democrats a razor-thin majority in the Senate. In November, President Biden became the first Democratic presidential candidate to win Georgia since former President Clinton in 1992.

The new Georgia voting law is among dozens of measures being considered by state legislatures across the country after former President Trump lied repeatedly about the 2020 presidential election being stolen through widespread voter fraud, a claim that is not supported by evidence.

Army Vet Plans to Appeal Ninth Circuit Ruling Against Gun Carry

Ruling may motivate Supreme Court to step in

The veteran behind the challenge to Hawaii's restrictive open-carry law plans to petition the Supreme Court to hear his case after losing in the Ninth Circuit, his lawyer told the Washington Free Beacon on Wednesday.

"We're planning on filing for a writ of certiorari," Alan Beck, the lawyer for native-Hawaiian veteran George Young, said. "We're not letting this lie."

Young argues Hawaii is effectively banning open carry in the state by refusing to issue any permits to civilians regardless of their background or skill level. A federal judge sided with him in 2018 and struck down the law, but on Wednesday the Ninth Circuit threw out his challenge in a 7-to-4 vote. The court said, in part, the Second Amendment does not extend to the open carry of guns.

"There is no right to carry arms openly in public; nor is any such right within the scope of the Second Amendment," the majority said in the ruling.

The Ninth Circuit previously ruled concealed gun carry is not protected by the Second Amendment in a case against California's restrictive laws. Beck said the two cases set a clear marker that the Ninth Circuit does not believe the Second Amendment protects any gun-carry right. He said the court's decision was "disappointing" but argued it may actually push the Supreme Court to take up a gun-carry case sooner than it otherwise might have.

"The Ninth Circuit just became the first court of appeals to expressly state that the Second Amendment right does not apply to armed self-defense outside the home," Beck told the Free Beacon. "Therefore, it is expressly split with the Seventh Circuit, the D.C. Court of Appeals. That opens up the possibility of Supreme Court review."

Gun advocates have been loading up new cases in the federal court system since the appointment of Justice Amy Coney Barrett in October. Experts predicted her "text, history, and tradition" approach to deciding gun cases could revolutionize the way federal courts consider strict gun laws and result in more of them being struck down. The Court, however, has yet to take up a gun case since her confirmation.

Jake Charles, executive director of Duke University's Center for Firearms Law, said the new ruling from the Ninth Circuit is likely to spur a Supreme Court review. While he does not believe the Ninth Circuit's ruling is meant to be read as broadly as Beck does, Charles said it provides further contrast among the lower courts on the issue. He pointed to Corlett, a case challenging New York's restrictive concealed-carry law that the court will consider taking up on Friday, as a case the Supreme Court may be more eager to hear after Wednesday's ruling.

"I do think that having the public carry issue teed up in Corlett at the same time Young was decided probably does increase the chances that we see a grant in Corlett," Charles said. "Much of it hinges on what kind of case the justices want to take to start establishing some more guidance for lower court cases."

Young, who initially brought his case without any assistance from a lawyer, may soon get his day before the Supreme Court. The retiree has said he mainly wants to be able to carry a gun to fend off aggressive wildlife when he goes fishing. His willingness to carry the issue to the Supreme Court is born out of a desire to restore gun rights to Hawaiians but also a personal promise he made to his late daughter when he first began his fight.

"It was my last promise to her," Young told the Free Beacon in 2018. "She said, ‘Well, you've got to fight the state,' and I said, ‘Okay, here we go.'"

Doocy confronts Psaki over Fox News getting snubbed at presser, asks if it's 'official administration policy'

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy confronted press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday about why he was snubbed during President Biden’s first press conference, noting Fox has "never been" on the list of Biden's pre-approved reporters.

Biden appeared to pick reporters from a pre-determined list on Thursday, ultimately calling on 10 reporters. Doocy, who was on hand to represent Fox News, was not called on and noticed a pattern.

"We noticed, starting at the end of the campaign and into the transition and here at the White House, anytime that the president has an event where he is given a list of reporters to call on, Fox is the only member of the five-network TV pool that has never been on the list," Doocy said. "I am just curious if that is an official administration policy."

Psaki responded she was currently taking a question from Fox News, but Doocy indicated he was specifically talking about the president’s pre-determined list.

Doocy said he’s been able to ask Biden questions but only when he shouts after the president "goes through his whole list" of pre-approved reporters.

"The president has been very generous with his time with Fox, I’m just curious about this list that he is given," Doocy said. "The only member of the five-network pool that’s never on it."

Doocy said Fox has been left off the list since Biden resumed in-person events at the height of the campaign. The other networks that are part of the pool ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN are often called on by Biden.

"I’m always happy to have this conversation with you," Psaki said. "The president has taken your questions and I’m looking forward to doing ‘Fox News Sunday’ this Sunday for the third time in the last few months."

Psaki never answered why Fox News has been left of the list of pre-approved reporters.

"I think we’ve got to move on, because we have limited time," Psaki said.

Doocy told "America Reports" on Thursday, shortly after leaving the White House, that he had a "binder-full" of questions for Biden he didn’t have a chance to ask.

Judge skeptical of Schiff's argument for keeping impeachment phone subpoenas secret

"I have not found any case that upholds" constitutional rights of Congress over public's right to know, D.C. appeals judge says.

The House Intelligence Committee and its chairman Adam Schiff have not shown legal precedents that justify hiding their subpoenas for a reporter's phone records during the Trump impeachment inquiry, a federal appeals judge said Wednesday.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit grilled the committee's lawyer at a hearing on its decision to publish only certain subpoenas on the committee website. Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch is seeking the public release of subpoenas to phone companies that targeted private individuals, including reporter and Just the News founder and CEO John Solomon.

Todd Tatelman, principal deputy general counsel for the House of Representatives, argued that the Constitution's "speech or debate clause" shields the committee from being dragged into court to divulge the scope of its subpoenas.

"What's your authority for what you just said?" Judge Karen Henderson responded. "I have not found any case that upholds the speech or debate clause immunity with regard to the common law right of access" to public records. Tatelman admitted he didn't know of any.

The judge also found it "noteworthy," if not "ironic," that Tatelman justified hiding the subpoenas to protect the privacy of irrelevant individuals whose personal information could be exposed. Judicial Watch's entire case is about the committee claiming an "unlimited" power to invade the privacy of individuals, Henderson said.

Judicial Watch is seeking to have the case remanded to trial court to further develop the factual record. Schiff and the committee insist that the Constitution shields them from precisely this sort of litigation to expose their "legislative documents."

The impeachment inquiry report discloses that Solomon spoke with Lev Parnas, an associate of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, "at least six times" in the 48 hours before The Hill published an "opinion piece" by Solomon. The report alleges the piece was part of a "smear campaign" against U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.

Pollard: Jews ‘will always have dual loyalty’ & should consider spying for Israel

Jonathan Pollard, the convicted spy for Israel whose story haunted the American Jewish community’s relations with the US government for decades, is unrepentant.

“The bottom line on this charge of dual loyalty is, I’m sorry, we’re Jews, and if we’re Jews, we will always have dual loyalty,” Pollard said in an interview published Thursday in Israel Hayom, his first extensive remarks since his release from prison in 2015.

Pollard recalled how much of the Jewish leadership did not stand up for him following his 1985 arrest, when he was a civilian analyst for the US Navy who was found to be spying for Israel.

“If you’re outside Israel, then you live in a society in which you are basically considered unreliable,” he said.

The US Jewish leadership eventually softened in its outlook, and some Jewish leaders lobbied for Pollard’s release, saying his life sentence was excessive.

Pollard’s full interview will be published Friday. In an earlier excerpt published by Israel Hayom, he said he knew he “crossed a line” when he relayed the information to Israel, but added that he believed the United States was withholding from Israel intelligence critical to its security.

Pollard’s arrest and eventual conviction complicated ties between US Jews and sectors of the government. Jews seeking entry into or advancement in the national security apparatus were often rebuffed, with Pollard cited as the reason. Pollard suggested that Jews were deluding themselves if they thought of America as a home and suggested he would counsel a young US Jew working in the American security apparatus to spy for Israel.

“I’d tell him, not doing anything is unacceptable. So simply going home [to Israel] is not acceptable. Making aliyah is not acceptable,” Pollard said. “You have to make a decision whether your concern for Israel and loyalty to Israel and loyalty to your fellow Jews is more important than your life.”

Pollard was paroled from his life sentence in 2015. The terms of his parole were not renewed last year and he flew to Israel, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu greeted him at the airport. Sheldon Adelson, the late owner of Israel Hayom, provided a private plane for Pollard to fly to Israel.

Court Questions Sales of Aborted Fetal Parts–MORE DOCS COMING…

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton appeared on EWTN to discuss a federal court ordering the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to release additional information about its purchases of organs harvested from aborted human fetuses. The court also found “there is reason to question” whether the transactions violate federal law barring the sale of fetal organs. Documents previously uncovered in this lawsuit show that the federal government demanded the purchased fetal organs be “fresh and never frozen.”

Oakland to Test Universal Basic Income Program – Exclude White Families From Taking Part

The city of Oakland, California is launching a pilot universal basic income program for 600 low-income families this summer but is excluding poor White families from taking part.

The program is only for “Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)” who have “low incomes and at least 1 child under 18, regardless of documentation status,” East County Today reports.

“The term ‘family’ is defined broadly to recognize that families come in all shapes and sizes,” ECT noted.

Oakland will host one of the largest guaranteed income pilot projects in the country to give 600 BIPOC families with low-incomes an unconditional $500 per month for at least 18 months.

Oakland Resilient Families is a collaboration between the Oakland-based community organization Family Independence Initiative and the national Mayors for a Guaranteed Income. The project will support 600 Oakland families while building momentum for strategies to eliminate racial disparities in economic stability, mobility, and assets through a guaranteed income.

“The poverty we all witness today is not a personal failure, it is a systems failure,” said Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf. “Guaranteed income is one of the most promising tools for systems change, racial equity, and economic mobility we’ve seen in decades. I’m proud to work with such committed local partners to build a new system that can help undo centuries of economic and racial injustice, and point us all toward a more just society.”

California Approves Ethnic Studies Curriculum That Encourages a 'Countergenocide' Against Whites

The California Board of Education has unanimously approved a new ethnic studies school curriculum that has students "chant to the Aztec god of human sacrifice" and encourages a "countergenocide" against White Christians.

Christopher Rufo exposed the radical curriculum earlier this month before the vote but the Board of Education apparently couldn't care less:

Rufo noted that once the curriculum passes "it will install the principles of critical race theory and its related ideologies into the state's 10,000 public schools, serving 6 million children."

Former Melbourne mayor Robert Doyle committed ‘serious misconduct of a sexual nature,’ report concludes

Melbourne’s former lord mayor Robert Doyle committed “serious misconduct of a sexual nature” against a woman at a 2016 awards ceremony, according to an investigation by a Victorian Department of Health-appointed QC.

A summary of the investigation's findings said Mr Doyle's conduct at the 2016 dinner ranged from "sleazy" to "serious misconduct of a sexual nature".

The summary found this included touching the woman's inner thigh, close to her groin and her lower back.

Charles Scerri QC was appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services to carry out an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations made against the former lord mayor who was also the chairperson of Melbourne Health at the time of the dinner.

The summary of Mr Scerri's findings was published on Victoria's Health Department's website late on Friday.

The summary said the woman "appeared to be an honest and sincere witness and had no reason to lie about these matters".

"Indeed, the whole experience, including Mr Scerri's investigation, has caused her enormous distress," the summary stated.

Doyle's conduct caused 'serious distress'

It said Mr Scerri had found that the conduct described by the woman did take place, with a varying degree of seriousness.

"Some of the conduct could be described as over-familiar, rude, obnoxious or sleazy. In that category were inappropriate comments that Mr Doyle made about the complainant's appearance," the summary stated.

"However, some of the conduct was 'serious misconduct of a sexual nature' within the scope of Mr Scerri's investigation. This included touching the complainant's inner thigh, close to her groin and the complainant's lower back."

Mr Scerri also found that the conduct was unwelcome and caused the complainant serious distress.

It was noted that Mr Doyle continued to claim that due to his ill health he was unable to respond to the allegations.

The summary also reported that there had been extensive correspondence between Mr Scerri's solicitors and Mr Doyle's solicitors since February 2018 "about Mr Doyle's inability for medical reasons to take part in the investigation or to respond to the allegations".

"Mr Scerri does not accept that Mr Doyle's solicitors are unable to discuss the allegations with Mr Doyle and obtain any instructions from him," the summary said.

"Accordingly, Mr Scerri considers that he is now able to finalise the investigation and make his findings."

Mr Doyle did not respond when asked for comment by the ABC on Friday night.
