You ring the upstream side with explosives below the canal bottom. If you can open enough for water to flood under the ship and break the suction with the muck it might move.

Yes I was thinking of that also. Call the fire dept. and have a dozen pumpers on each end flood the ends to wash away the soil. Certainly better than one drunken sandnigger in a sand digger.
