Mini dig on BS propaganda piece on burning AFFF or Aquious Film Forming Foam, an important firefighting tool

AFFF contains polyfluoroalkyl substances which are believed but not proven to cause cancer.

CDC statement from 2019 on PFAS:

>“There is much that is unknown about the health effects of exposures to these chemicals,” said Patrick Breysse, PHD, CIH, Director of ATSDR and CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health. “The multi-site study will advance the scientific evidence on the human health effects of PFAS and provide some answers to communities exposed to the contaminated drinking water.”

https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2019/p0923-cdc-atsdr-award-pfas-study.html

Take note that the CDC in 2019 was not certain about the dangers, but in the shitty propaganda piece by the 'free thought project' it's cast as a known horrible polutant that can't be destroyed by incineration. If the CDC was unsure in 2019 then how could anyone at the DOD have known these were super toxic in 2016?

Statement by the American Cancer Society:

>Studies have looked at cancer rates in people living near or working in PFOA-related chemical plants. Some of these studies have suggested an increased risk of testicular cancer with increased PFOA exposure. Studies have also suggested possible links to kidney cancer and thyroid cancer, but the increases in risk have been small and could have been due to chance.

>Other studies have suggested possible links to other cancers, including prostate, bladder, and ovarian cancer. But not all studies found such links, and more research is needed to clarify these findings.

'suggested possible links'

TL;DR: Obvious hit piece on Trump trying to create a racist narrative is obvious.

Anons need to be more discerning of what gets marked notable. We are not here to propagate Dem/lib propaganda, but to dig for truth and spread it.

The piece above is clearly a hit piece meant to insinuate that during the Trump admin the racist prez ordered the (corrupt) DOD to burn toxic chemicals in minority neighborhoods.

What a crock of shit. The corrupt DOD was barely under Trumps control, there was an article about someone who ignored his orders on Afghan policy and did his own thing.

This bullshit narrative has been circulating since the early Obama years, that for some reason racism contributes to pollution in poor communities and that in some cases it's official govt policy.

This is a bullshit propaganda piece and anons should be able to differentiate between clear propaganda and fact.

This aint our fucking first rodeo after all.
