At first we knew nothing about how the world worked, but the first people to learn about the relationships between different forces used their advanced knowledge to dominate. They personified these relationships they exploited as gods and claimed a divine right to rule granted to them by the gods. Ultimately the one who knew more about how the world worked, who was closer to the gods, won through the law of survival of the fittest. Eventually someone figured out one unifying principle which governed the relationships between all other things: Love. Even after bitter conflict everything would eventually fall naturally into a harmonious coexistence. Those who pursue that love are fundamentally stronger than those who pursue conflict, and perhaps most importantly they alone have natural allies the world over in all others who live for love.

That's just a super basic level understanding. There is no question in my mind that there is a whole lot more going on if you look under the hood. I'm also not going to pretend to be revealing secret truths from on high here, just talking about what I'm seeing.
