Joe Biden: States Should Pause Reopening, Reinstate Mask Mandates

President Joe Biden expressed disappointment Monday that coronavirus cases are once again rising, urging states to pause reopening efforts and reinstate mask mandates.

“I’m reiterating my call for every governor, mayor, and local leader to maintain and reinstate the mask mandate,” Biden said at the White House. “Please, this is not politics. Reinstate the mandate if you let it down.”

Biden offered Americans a message of both hope and doom. His speech promoted progress in getting the country vaccinated but also warned of impending spikes in cases and hospitalizations.

About seventeen states, led by Republican governors, have either lifted their mask mandates or never enacted them, including highly populated states in Florida and Texas.

“Mask up. Mask up. It’s a patriotic duty. It’s the only way we get back to normal,” he said.

Joe Biden even urged private businesses to continue requiring that customers wear masks.

He pointed to a warning of “impending doom” from Centers for Disease Control Director Rochelle Walensky earlier Monday, urging Americans to keep following coronavirus restrictions and guidelines.

“This is deadly serious,” Biden said, and added, “The failure to take this virus seriously is what precisely got us into this mess in the first place.

Biden also condemned Americans who continued to travel and party during spring break, predicting a spike of cases as a result.

“New variants are spreading, and sadly, some of the reckless behavior we’ve seen on television over the past few weeks means that more new cases are to come in the weeks ahead,” he said.

Biden said Americans were mistakenly letting up on the coronavirus restrictions.

“Now is not the time to let down. Now is not the time to celebrate,” he said.

At the end of Biden’s comments, reporters asked him if he believed that states currently loosening coronavirus restrictions should pause their efforts.

“Yes,” he replied.

Sinpho South Naval Shipyard: Drydock Movement Detected

Commercial satellite imagery of the Sinpho South Shipyard from March 24, 2021 indicates that the floating drydock, normally moored at a nearby pier, has recently been repositioned alongside the construction hall’s submarine-launch quay. Since this drydock has seldom been observed positioned next to the quay, its presence may indicate one of two developments. First, the new ballistic missile submarine, which has been under construction for several years, may be nearing completion or is ready to be rolled out and launched in the near future. Alternatively, the drydock may be there for rail alignment adjustment with those on the quay, as no submarine is known to have been launched from this location as of yet.

The launch of the new submarine is something that has been expected for the past couple of years for several reasons. These include:

Kim Jong Un visited the construction hall at Sinpho on July 23, 2019 to inspect a ROMEO-class submarine being modified to accommodate missile launch tubes.[1]

The parts yard adjacent to the construction halls, where large parts had been observed during the construction process, has been empty since last summer. This suggests major structural work has been completed.

North Korea also revealed two larger Pukguksong submarine-launched ballistic missiles in military parades earlier this year–the Pukguksong-4 and Pukguksong-5. These would presumably require a larger vessel than the existing GORAE-class (SINPO-class) ballistic missile submarine to launch from.

For these reasons, the presence of the floating drydock at its current location suggests early preparations to move a submarine from the construction halls into the water. Since the quay is level and not inclined toward the water, as is the case of a traditional marine railway, the drydock is needed for a launch and would be positioned in line with the rails used to support and transport the submarine as it is rolled out from the construction hall. After the submarine has been properly centered on the drydock, the drydock would pull away and submerge enough so that the submarine can float off.

Historically, the refurbishment of the construction hall and the quay construction were completed in September 2016. The drydock was brought to the quay at that time, presumably for alignment testing. Since then, there has been no evidence of any vessel being launched from that quay. Therefore, bringing the floating drydock to the quay once again may be simply for a fit test to check the proper alignment of the drydock’s rails to those on the quay.

White House Working with Corporations to Develop ‘Vaccine Passport’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed Monday government officials would work with private companies on the development of a “vaccine passport.”

“It’s currently going through an interagency process, we’ll make some recommendations, and then we believe it will be driven by the private sector,” she said.

Psaki said the government would “leverage their resources” to assist companies in making the passport universally accessible, affordable, and available on digital and paper.

The government, she said, would focus on developing guidelines for companies to use for a passport rollout.

Psaki stated there would be “no centralized universal federal vaccination database” and no mandate requiring everyone to get a vaccine credential.

Acting Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Andy Slavitt also confirmed the government would be involved in the development of the passport in a briefing with reporters.

He said the government would not create the passport themselves or hold data from Americans.

“We view this as something that the private sector is doing and will do,” he said.

But he said the federal government would focus on privacy and security issues in the passport development process.

“Privacy of the information, security of the information, and a marketplace of solutions are all things that are part of what we believe in, as for the ability for people to access this free and in multiple languages,” he said.

Corporations are working on a vaccine passport, The Washington Post reported Monday, as more companies plan to require proof of vaccination to participate in events, work, or travel.

The Federal Health IT Coordinating Council met virtually on March 2 to discuss the process.

“Proof of vaccination for certain activities is not new,” a slide from the meeting published by the Post read. “What is new is that such proof may be a critical driver for restoring baseline population health and promoting safe return to social, commercial, and leisure activities.”

The presentation warned of “a chaotic and ineffective” process for a vaccine passport that could slow down the economic recovery.

The meeting focused on ways to verify vaccination data and make it available for companies to use.

“Federal government has a strong interest in how this plays out, and its actions will guide the pace and direction of the market,” the slide read.

Biden CBP Will Return Migrants Kept in Mexico Under Trump to West Texas Town

Law enforcement sources report that another port of entry town will be designated as a return center for those migrants who were ordered to remain in Mexico under the Migrant Protection Protocols despite no public announcements on the matter. The Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico” program was cancelled by an executive order on President Joe Biden’s first day in office.

This week, the port of entry in Eagle Pass, Texas, will commence receiving the migrants, according to a Breitbart Texas law enforcement source. Initially, Brownsville and El Paso, Texas, plus San Diego, California, were designated as re-entry points for 25,000 asylum applicants.

According to DHS, ports of entry in Hidalgo and Laredo, Texas, are scheduled to begin participating in the return process this week. DHS has made no formal mention of Eagle Pass.

As of February 11, 2021, migrants previously removed under the Trump program began returning to the United States with the assistance of the United Nations. According a United Nations press release, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) are conducting in-person registration and are performing COVID-19 tests for those seeking re-entry.

Border Patrol agents in the Eagle Pass area along with their CBP counterparts are already stretched thin, dealing with an increase in illegal border crossings. According to the source, the administrative load of returning MPP asylum applicants will only detract from an already strained workforce coping with overcrowded facilities.

Describing the program, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said, “President Biden has made clear, the U.S. government is committed to rebuilding a safe, orderly, and humane immigration system … This latest action is another step in our commitment to reform immigration policies that do not align with our nation’s values.”

It is unclear how many migrants will be allowed entry in Eagle Pass, Texas.

A request for comment from CBP remains unanswered as of press time.

From Missiles to Medicine: New US Bill Would Use New ICBM Program Money to Fund COVID-19 Vaccines

The US is in the midst of a vast nuclear modernization program estimated to cost $1.7 trillion over the next 25 years as the Pentagon replaces its nuclear bombers, land, air, and sea-based missiles, and their associated warheads.

A new bill in the US Senate would pull funding for the Pentagon’s enormously expensive program to replace its aging intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) arsenal and use the funds to research COVID-19 treatments instead.

“The United States should invest in a vaccine of mass prevention before another new land-based weapon of mass destruction,” US Sen. Edward Markey (D-MA) said in a Friday press release announcing introduction of the Investing in Cures Before Missiles (ICBM) Act.

“The ICBM Act makes clear that we can begin to phase out the Cold War nuclear posture that risks accidental nuclear war while still deterring adversaries and assuring allies, and redirect those savings to the clear and present dangers presented by coronaviruses and other emerging and infectious diseases,” he added. “The devastation sown by COVID-19 would pale in comparison to that of even a limited nuclear war. The ICBM Act signals that we intend to make the world safe from nuclear weapons and prioritize spending that saves lives, rather than ends them.”

According to the release, the bill would prohibit using fiscal year 2022 spending on either the Pentagon’s Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program or the National Nuclear Security Administration’s program to update the W87-1 nuclear warhead.

Instead, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health would get $1 billion from the GBSD program to work on a new universal vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Likewise, the W87-1 funds would go towards infectious disease research at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

National Advisory Committee on Immunization recommends pause on AstraZeneca vaccinations for people under 55

Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) is recommending a pause on AstraZeneca vaccinations for people under 55 for safety reasons, while 1.5M doses of the vaccine are due to arrive from the U.S. on Tuesday.

During a press conference, Dr. Shelley Deeks, the vice-chair of NACI, said that with “substantial uncertainty” around cases of vaccine-induced thrombocytopenia (VIPIT) in people with low platelets, and the committee is recommending the suspension of shots in all people under 55 as a “precautionary measure.”

So far, around 300,000 AstraZeneca doses have been administered in Canada already, with no reports of blood clots. Post-vaccination blood clots manifested most notably in younger women.

According to the Montreal Gazette, “Health Canada is demanding that AstraZeneca do a detailed study on the risks and benefits of its COVID-19 vaccine across multiple age groups after getting more reports that patients in Europe developed blood clots following vaccination.”

Monday, Quebec suspended the use of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in anyone aged 55 or younger in light of new advice from the national immunization council, calling the move a precautionary measure:

“The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is examining a potential link between the vaccine and blood clotting in the brain, as well as other bleeding disorders.” While “the EMA still considers this product to be safe and effective,” Quebec public health said the possibility of a link “cannot be completely ruled out at this time.”

“Very rare cases have occurred within weeks of receiving AstraZeneca vaccine in some European countries, the majority in women under 55 years of age,” read the release.

“However, it is not possible to determine at this stage whether the events are related to the person's gender.”

Newfoundland and Labrador also suspended use of the AstraZeneca vaccine for persons under the age of 55, according to NTV:

“Effective immediately, provincial public health officials are advising that the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be paused for adults under age 55. This decision is based on new guidelines from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization, which sites European reports of rare instances of pro-thrombotic immune thrombocytopenia (VIPIT) in people four to 20 days after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine”

At the same time, P.E.I.’s government announced it would halt use of the vaccine for people aged 18 to 29. P.E.I.'s chief public health officer, Dr. Heather Morrison, made the announcement Monday afternoon in a livestreamed update.

DISINFO: USA Today Quotes a Consultant to the Chinese Communist Party to ‘Debunk’ Wuhan Lab Theory.

An expert promoted by U.S. corporate media to discredit Dr. Robert Redfield’s assertion that COVID-19 “escaped” from a Chinese lab has extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party, The National Pulse can exclusively reveal.

Dr. Ian Lipkin was quoted by outlets including CBS and USA Today as a means by which to “debunk” Dr. Redfield’s explosive claim linking the virus to a Chinese lab.

“We should be moving away from finger-pointing,” Lipkin told CBS after adding there is “no evidence to suggest that it was created in a lab.”

While the corporate media is keen to promote Lipkin’s claims – indistinguishable from the Chinese Communist Party’s COVID-19 narrative – they failed to report his decades of ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

A 2020 Columbia University press release notes “the government of China honored Ian Lipkin with a medal recognizing his profound impact on their country,” adding that he “has worked closely with scientists and officials in China.”

The medal, issued from several Chinese government bodies including the Central Military Commission, read “Celebrating 70th Anniversary,” and commemorated the anniversary of Chinese Communist Party’s takeover of the country.

A summary of his professional experience reveals he even “consults” for the Chinese Communist Party and has lectured and accepted grants from Chinese state-run scientific bodies:

He continues to consult with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Science, and the Ministry of Health. He has also served as a consultant for a climate change program at Beijing Normal and as a visiting professor at Beijing University. Trump said the infectious disease experts were 'self-promoters'

Former President Donald Trump slammed Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx on Monday, accusing the infectious disease experts of "trying to reinvent history" in televised interviews detailing their roles in combating the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump spoke out after Fauci and Birx, who both served as key members of his administration’s coronavirus task force, were interviewed for a CNN special titled "COVID WAR: The Pandemic Doctors Speak Out."

During the special, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, described the push to develop a COVID-19 vaccine as "the best decision that I’ve ever made with regard to an intervention as director of the institute." Birx, the former White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, said she had a "very difficult" phone call with Trump after she spoke candidly about the severity of an outbreak last August.

In a lengthy statement, Trump accused both of his former colleagues of being "self-promoters."

"Based on their interviews, I felt it was time to speak up about Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx, two self-promoters trying to reinvent history to cover for their bad instincts and faulty recommendations, which I fortunately almost always overturned," Trump said. "They had bad policy decisions that would have left our country open to China and others, closed to reopening our economy, and years away from an approved vaccine—putting millions of lives at risk."

Chauvin Defense Team: George Floyd Concealed Meth and Fentanyl Pills from Officers in His Mouth

Partially dissolved pills were found in the back of the police car

In his opening statement, Derek Chauvin’s defense attorney revealed that George Floyd concealed pills containing meth and fentanyl from officers in his mouth.

Eric Nelson, the lead defense attorney for Officer Derek Chauvin, who stand accused of murder after George Floyd died during his custody at the end of May last year, made his opening statements in Chauvin’s trial on Monday morning.

Floyd, who was 47 when he died, purchased cigarettes at a local corner shop with a counterfeit $20 bill, with the police called on him as a result. The manager of the store allegedly asked him to either exchange the fake bill for a real one or return the cigarettes, but Floyd refused, according to Nelson’s statement.

Before the police arrived, Floyd spent between 20 and 30 minutes in a Mercedes Benz car with his friends. “While they were in the car, Mr Floyd consumed what were thought to be two percocet pills,” Nelson said in his statement, revealing that his friends will later testify that “Mr Floyd fell asleep in the car, and that they couldn’t wake him up.”

When confronted by police, “Mr Floyd put drugs in his mouth in an effort to conceal them,” Nelson said, adding that later surveillance videos from across the street show that there is evidence of “further concealment of controlled substances.”

However, while Floyd’s friends believed the pills to be percocet, after search warrants were executed on the Mercedes Benz on May 27th and December 9th last year, “BCA agents located various pieces of evidence during this search, including two pills… that were revealed to be a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl,” Nelson noted. The pills with this concoction of meth and fentanyl that Floyd likely consumed is known as a “speed-ball” – a mixture of an opiate and a stimulant.

Partially dissolved pills found in the search of police squad car 320 where Floyd was held were also found to be consistent with the pills found in the Mercedes Benz, according to Nelson, containing both meth and fentanyl. Analysyts further discovered that DNA and saliva matching with Floyd’s were found in the pills.

Nelson further noted that despite Floyd being seen to have consumed these pills by his friends, and that a later autopsy report showed both meth and fentanyl in his system, Floyd told both Officer King and Officer Lane that he was “on nothing” when confronted about his current state of intoxication.

NYPD cop-killer is now helping reform the police in New York

He fatally shot an NYPD cop execution-style decades ago in a Queens bar — and now Richard Rivera is helping reform police in upstate New York as part of a state-mandated plan launched by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The cop-killer — who murdered off-duty officer and dad-of-four Robert Walsh in 1981 — sits on a panel for Ithaca and Tompkins County as part of its “Reimagining Public Safety Collaborative.’’

The advisory group was formed after Cuomo ordered municipalities to submit police-reform plans to the state by April 1 following George Floyd’s death.

“I know people are going to be critical,’’ killer-turned-homeless advocate Rivera, 56, told The Post on Monday when asked about the possible reaction to him sitting on the committee.

“I don’t know if [Walsh’s] family would find this acceptable,’’ he said. “I can’t control that. What I can control is the way I’ve been living my life.

“I’m holding the memory of Officer Walsh to the highest standard of policing in terms of a protector to the community, somebody who cares for the community.”
