Asia Pacific update. Sup guise, out here the fucked up situation is finally easing up just a hair. Travel without testing has been re-instituded between the islands here in Phils, with local directives still in force for random details. Mask wearing doesn't look like it will ever let up, and a surprising number of people know its stupid but do it anyway. Primarily they don't want to pay a fine.
We only have 12.5K deaths or so, which is less than 25% of the number of flu / pneumonia deaths on record here in 2017. No one has even discussed, questioned, or looked at the data so far as I know. Just blind acceptance, that is what we are faced with in the brown man's world. We can only act when the white man tells us to, and follow along whatever he recommends. Sad but true. Local politicos take every advantage to redistribute funds around how they see fit, and impose whatever stupid bullshit control measures occur to them at random times.
Ask 9 out of 10 people in the street, they think Covid is bullshit. But surprisingly, they would probably take a free vax if it was given. Because it's free. Never mind that it is also Chinese….hey man I want that free shit. So they will happily go about their day wearing a bullshit bandana, taking a squirt of cleanser in their palm every time they enter a store, and fill out bullshit pieces of paper with name and address so stores can 'track' people. Yeah right.
China is full on flexing its muscles and parking shit tons of fishing boats now at Juan Felipe Reef, which is significan because this one is in the undisputed exclusive economic zone of the PH. We first said we would send our newest Navy ships to defend our rights, now we are just observing with the Coast Guard. So the signal to China continues to be, we will not stand up to any Chinese aggression.
US Observers, if you are seeing this post, understand that PH wholeheartedly supports the US. They have no idea Taiwan may fall, and we are completely fucked without continual flexing of US muscle. Sorry that our govt. is such a shit show, but know that the PH people would support the formation of a defensive coalition. I can see by PlaneFagging that you are bulding up and reinforcing a lot of the smaller Pacific US territories, and long for the day that we see F-35s patroling the skies. The naval fleet circulating around Taiwan in recent weeks has been a big relief.
