About two months after we lost our dog about a year ago my wife brought home a dachshund pup she picked out. With our kids now grown and gone with just the two of us now, losing the dog had been left with an empty hole in our home. The dachshund's remain very pup like through out their lives, want very much to be loved and give so much more back, they also love to be the center of attention, he took to her as being #1, Mommy, I'm #2. With me now retired my job is to pup sit all day long while he waits for Mommy to return around 5 PM. At 4 PM every day like clock work he sits in the window waiting, coming to jump at me every 10 minuets wanting me to come and join him by the window as he waits. I tell him,

Relax, soon pup soon. I understand, waiting is the hardest thing.

Long winded, yeah. But I think you get my 5:5
