In Starship Troopers, you become a citizen after serving in the military. I think US should have something similar. Obviously we're already citizens, but people who serve should get life-long benefits that are only available to veterans. Free healthcare, free education, other shit.
I know it's sort of like that now, but it should be HUGE benefits for life.
