My dad was af. But even today they get the best of everything including the billets and chow. But the GT score for the af is higher than the other branches. Have to be very smart just to get in.
Anyway years after being out I totally have 200% respect for all branches. Just pawns like kissinger said.

Training the louisiana NG in the 90's field artillery. They didn't put enough cake in the 155 howitzer shell and the round impacted too short and almost killed some GI's. Shut the entire post down. Ft Polk.
Shut the post down for a few days till they figured out which soldier didn't do the job right. They didn't have enough cake which is the pack of explosives they put in the rear end of the shell.
