Love requires an object - let's call that object "the beloved."
Love is directed towards the beloved not the self.
Love seeks the good of the beloved at the expense of self - even to the laying down of his life for the beloved.
Love feeds the beloved by expending personal resources and promotes the growth of the beloved.
This is the love of God spoken of in John 3:16

The "love" of which you speak is self-directed and is not love - it is self-gratification, or self-worship. It is Satanically inspired and seeks equality with God, not worship of God.
