Hopefully, you're aware the merchant you are buying from, using a card, is paying the card company a 1-3% of the charge plus a flat $.25, .30 cent flat fee for each purchase. The card company is still making money without receiving interest from you.

The point of your original post was to boycott card companies with the implication they make NO money. If nobody used cc, the merchant wouldn't have to raise prices for that particular expense, therefore cash payers wouldn't pay them. The banks charge everyone to use their "money", customers and merchants. By you continuing to use the card, it is YOU that is causing cash customers to pay more, if that's the case. If the banks were losing money, they wouldn't offer the cash back deals. At whatever level, the cc company is making money everytime you use it, no matter how much you save or profit. Your economic philosphy is a self-serving one. Perhaps you should think deeper.

I didn't speak out of turn. Your logic is: if everybody played it like you played it, credit card companies would go out of business. That's absolutely absurd. You're being naive. Moreover, if you can play the cc cos. the way you think you are, then it benefits you; screw everybody else and let the card companies (banks) continue to have all the power. As long as you're selfishly satisfied.

And I'm done with this slide.
