One of the subjects of the doc may have slipped and revealed his role as Q. But will that even matter to believers of the hoax?

HBO's Q: Into the Storm, a six-part docuseries looking into the QAnon conspiracy theory, comes to an end Sunday night. The finale reveals who series director Cullen Hoback believes to be the mysterious Q.

Hoback has been covering the QAnon movement since 2018. The conspiracy theory started in 2017 and falsely claims that former President Donald Trump was leading a hidden war against satanist pedophiles in Hollywood and the Democratic Party. It was started by an anonymous person who became known as Q, which is a reference to a top-level government security clearance. The hoax gained traction in the US and across the globe, and QAnon followers were on the front line when Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol on Jan. 6.

What happens next?

It's hard to say. It's become apparent that QAnon believers aren't going to stop believing the hoax anytime soon. Trump's loss to President Joe Biden hasn't deterred many Q followers, who continue to believe it'll just be a matter of time before Trump returns to office.

Some QAnon believers have left the cult, while others are continuing with a new strategy of saying there's no QAnon. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who last year posted a video reciting a pledge created by Q, was asked about QAnon in March and responded by asking, "What is that?" Members of Flynn's family are suing CNN over playing the video of them reciting the Q pledge, saying they were never followers.

Jamaicans scamming in US could face 20 years in prison

The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) has warned that any Jamaican who is found to be exploiting the visa system to undertake fraudulent activities in the US, like scamming, can face up to 20 years in prison.

The USPIS said while the majority of Jamaicans who enter the country operate legally, there are a few with criminal intentions.

“The majority of Jamaicans who are going to the US, they are going in a legitimate way. They are going for tourist reasons or to shop or maybe to go to school or to work. Maybe even to migrate. But there are some who are going in to scam people or to actually be a money mule, to collect money from people that they don't know, to bring back down to Jamaica for the scammers,” Dominick Riley, special agent postal inspector at the USPIS, said last Wednesday during Consular Conversations, a weekly talk series by the US Embassy in Jamaica.

Police were called to the back of Stockland Shopping Centre at Burleigh Heads just after 7am local time after a member of the public made the discovery in the donation bin.

It is understood police are not treating the death as suspicious.

It is believed the woman may have become stuck inside the bin.

Burleigh Heads is known for its world-class surfing and swimming, with Burleigh Heads Beach being one of the most popular beaches on the Gold Coast.

Five women arrested in southern France in suspected terrorism plot

A police official in the Herault region confirmed the overnight arrests in the city of Beziers, and said that the DGSI domestic intelligence service and national anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office are handling the investigation.

Investigators centered on an 18-year-old woman living in a housing project in Beziers who is suspected of plotting an attack targeting nearby Montpellier, according to Mayor Robert Menard.

The 18-year-old’s mother and three sisters were also arrested, including one who is a minor, he said.

The 18-year-old had “boasted” to neighbors about watching Islamic State videos, Menard told The Associated Press, though he said he didn’t know whether she or her family had been on authorities’ radar for radicalism.

Menard, who was alerted by police to the operation, said he spoke with rattled neighbors at the scene.

“They’re horrified. They fear it gives a bad image of this neighborhood, and the Muslim community here,” he said.
