Iran announces arrest of ‘Israeli spy’ & others with links to ‘several countries’

Iran claims it has arrested a number of agents of foreign intelligence services, including an “Israeli spy”, in the northwest of the Islamic republic.

The alleged Israeli intelligence agent was nabbed in the province of East Azarbaijan, Iranian media reported on Monday citing the regional head of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry.

“An Israeli spy and several other spies with ties to the security services of various countries have been arrested,” the official, who was not named in the reports, said.

The claim was made during a report about the law-enforcement activities and other aspects of the branch’s operations. The identities of alleged spies were not disclosed and it was not clear if the one that Iran linked to Israel was an Israeli citizen.

Israeli authorities would not immediately comment on the media reports.

Israel and Iran have a long history of hostilities. Several high-profile crimes that happened in Iran have been blamed on Israeli intelligence services, including last year’s assassination of top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

An official with Iran's Intelligence Ministry says an Israeli spy and a number of other spies tied to security services of different countries have been arrested in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azarbaijan.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, the director general of East Azarbaijan's provincial intelligence department, said no member of any Takfiri terrorist group is present in the province.

The official, however, did not give any further information about the number of those arrested or their nationalities.

Back in August 2020, Iranian intelligence forces identified and arrested a number of spies linked to foreign espionage services.

The deputy head of the Intelligence Ministry’s counter-espionage department announced at the time that five teams of spies had been dismantled in the process, describing the arrests as the latest in a series of blows dealt to the global “hegemonic system.”

The official said foreign intelligence officers, using various complex methods, were attempting to spy on Iran’s nuclear, political, economic, military and infrastructural projects.

They were operating under the auspices of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Israeli spy agency Mossad, and those of some European countries involved in recent espionage cases and intended to conduct acts of sabotage in Iran, intensify cruel sanctions against the country, prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring modern know-how and damage Tehran’s relations with friendly states, the official noted.

Republicans Slam 'Hypocritical' Biden For Funneling $13 Million Through Tax Loopholes

President Biden has come under fire by House Republicans for 'hypocritically' using an IRS loophole to avoid paying taxes on $13 million in income for tax years 2017 and 2018, while slamming wealthy Americans for using similar schemes to minimize their tax burden, according to Fox News.

In a scathing letter from the leader of a House conservative caucus Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), the Bidens' used two S-corporations, the CelticCapri Corporation and the Giacoppa Corporation, to funnel proceeds from book royalties and speaking appearances, "avoiding self-employment payroll tax liabilities that would have flowed to America's Medicare program that provides care to over 60 million seniors."

"Tax experts have questioned the propriety of diverting funds raised from one's own intellectual property through an S-corporation," the letter continues. "Even your own failed OMB nominee, Neera Tanden, while she was running the Center for American Progress, described this practice as a "loophole."

"Your hypocrisy is highlighted by the fact that Medicare faces significant funding shortfalls," Banks continues in the March 25 letter. "Just this year, the Congressional Budget Office estimated its Hospital Insurance Trust Fund will face insolvency in the middle of Fiscal Year 2026—roughly five years from now."

"Moreover, during the presidential campaign, you said ‘ObamaCare is personal to me," the letter adds. "And your administration has sought to expand ObamaCare wherever possible. Yet, you and your wife avoided paying $121,000 in Obamacare payroll taxes."

In a statement to Fox News, Banks said that "House Democrats used their oversight power to subpoena Trump for his tax returns, but they’ve completely ignored Joe Biden’s abuse of our tax code," adding "When we take back the House in 2022, Oversight [Committee] Republicans won’t forget about Biden’s legally dubious tax avoidance schemes."

In the minority, congressional Republicans – many of whom have called for oversight of Biden’s handling of the border crisis or of potential conflicts of interest regarding his son Hunter Biden’s overseas business – lack the authority to compel Biden or his administration to provide information on any matter. But, as Americans witnessed during the previous administration, the issues Democrats continuously talked about in 2017 and 2018 – including President Trump’s taxes – became fodder for investigative hearings after Democrats held a House majority beginning in 2019.

The Biden tax savings demonstrate "Democrat hypocrisy is limitless," Banks said, contrasting this with both the president’s public policies and the working-class image Biden cultivated throughout his political career.

10 Chinese warplanes, including spy and anti-submarine aircraft, fly over Taiwanese air space – defense ministry

Taiwan has reported on Monday that Beijing flew another ten military aircraft into its air space. The incident occurred weeks after Taipei recorded the largest flyover of Chinese planes to date.

Taiwan’s defense ministry said it registered four J-10 and four J-16 jet fighters, as well as a surveillance plane and an anti-submarine plane. One aircraft flew through the strategic Bashi Channel between Taiwan and the Philippines. The island’s jets were scrambled to respond to and monitor Beijing’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force planes.

Taiwan regularly reports that Beijing sends warplanes into the southwestern section of its air defense identification zone (ADIZ). Last month, Taiwanese military reported a Chinese mission consisting of 20 aircraft, which it described as the largest incursion ever recorded in a day.

Relations between Beijing and Taipei remain tense, while China has recently hit out at growing US efforts to wield its influence in the region through assistance to Taiwan, which Beijing claims as a Chinese province under its control.

President Joe Biden's administration has signed an agreement with Taiwan to set up a Coast Guard Working Group, which was seen as a response to a new law in China allowing its coast guard to fire on foreign vessels in certain circumstances.

Beijing has said that both moves by the US are a breach of the one-China principle, which recognizes the single government of China.

Prosecutors Ask Jurors To Dismiss George Floyd Autopsy Findings

I previously wrote that the key to conviction in the Derek Chauvin trial (and avoiding a cascading failure in all four cases) is the autopsy findings and the role of drugs (including fentanyl) in the body of George Floyd. Prosecutors are now asking the jury to effectively dismiss the findings of the only official autopsy in the case and insist, contrary to those findings, that Floyd died from asphyxia, or, lack of oxygen. Some new disclosures may make that claim more difficult for the prosecution.

Last week, special prosecutor Jerry Blackwell admitted to jurors that Hennepin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker pointed to cardiac arrest as Floyd’s cause of death. However, he insisted that the state would prove that “was … not a fatal heart event,” but asphyxiation.

It is a bold move since it could invite reasonable doubt on the cause of death. The question is whether a case of manslaughter could have been advanced without the need of opposing the state’s own coroner on such findings. The failure of Chauvin to respond to a medical emergency speaks more to manslaughter than murder but it could be framed consistently with these findings. Instead, the prosecution has asked the jury to effectively reject the coroner’s findings — a risky maneuver.

We have previously discussed key defense elements in the case:

►When called to the scene due to Floyd allegedly passing counterfeit money, Floyd denied using drugs but later said he was “hooping,” or taking drugs.

►The autopsy did not conclude that Floyd died from asphyxiation (though a family pathologist made that finding). Rather, it found “cardiopulmonary arrest while being restrained by law enforcement officer(s).” The state’s criminal complaint against Chauvin said the autopsy “revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease.” He also was COVID-19 positive.

►Andrew Baker, Hennepin County’s chief medical examiner, strongly suggested that the primary cause was a huge amount of fentanyl in Floyd’s system: “Fentanyl at 11 ng/ml — this is higher than (a) chronic pain patient. If he were found dead at home alone & no other apparent causes, this could be acceptable to call an OD (overdose). Deaths have been certified w/levels of 3.” Baker also told investigators that the autopsy revealed no physical evidence suggesting Floyd died of asphyxiation.

►The toxicology report on Floyd’s blood also noted that “in fatalities from fentanyl, blood concentrations are variable and have been reported as low as 3 ng/ml.” Floyd had almost four times the level of fentanyl considered potentially lethal.

►Floyd notably repeatedly said that he could not breathe while sitting in the police cruiser and before he was ever restrained on the ground. That is consistent with the level of fentanyl in his system that can cause “slowed or stopped breathing.”

►Floyd’s lungs were two to three times the normal size and filled with fluid. “Pulmonary edema is a condition caused by excess fluid in the lungs” and it is symptomatic of an opioid overdose, according to Mayo Clinic. However, it should be noted that the Mayo Clinic report also addresses “Non-heart-related (non cardiogenic) pulmonary edema” and “Negative pressure pulmonary edema,” which could be used to support the prosecution’s theory.

Turkey arrests 10 retired admirals who voiced security fears over Erdogan’s straits project

Turkish police have arrested 10 retired admirals, who among over 100 ex-navy officers, voiced concerns that the ambitious plan to dig a new canal between the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara would endanger the country.

Four other individuals were ordered to report to the Ankara chief prosecutor within three days as part of the investigation of an alleged attempt to commit crimes “against national security and the constitutional order,” Turkish news agency Anadolu said.

The arrests and summonses on Monday came due to an open letter signed by former high-ranking personnel of the Turkish Navy. Published on Sunday, it raises concerns over the suggestion that Turkey could abandon the 1936 Montreux Convention, a cornerstone international treaty that governs Turkey’s sovereignty over two straits connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea, and the inland Sea of Marmara in between. Turkish authorities reacted to the letter with anger, saying it invoked the numerous military coups the country has experienced in modern history and is thus a threat to the civilian government.

At the core of the issue is the Istanbul Canal, a 50km-long waterway that would run parallel to the Bosporus and help deal with the heavy maritime traffic through the straits. It is one of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s projects meant to reshape Turkey with heavy investment in infrastructure. Erdogan first unveiled the project in 2011 during his election campaign, calling it a “crazy project.”

Critics fear that the new man-made waterway, not covered by the Montreux Convention, would potentially lead to a confrontation between major naval nations. The treaty allows free passage of civilian ships through the straits but limits the tonnage and number of military vessels of non-Black Sea countries.

Erdogan stated that the Montreux Convention would not apply to traffic through the new canal once it’s finished, which led to speculation that Turkey may withdraw from the treaty altogether.

The letter signed by retired naval officers expressed concern that there is even a debate regarding the move, saying the convention is crucial to national security and that without it, the country could face grave threats.

The warning triggered outrage from the Turkish government, with Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin saying it was “reminiscent of coup times” and made the signatories look “ridiculous and pathetic.”

“They should know that our esteemed nation and its representatives will never allow this mentality and enthusiasm for [military] tutelage,” he tweeted.

The Turkish military, which has historically played the role of guarantor of the country’s secular constitution, staged three successful coups between 1960 and 1980. In 1997, a ‘military memorandum’ forced the resignation of Islamist Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan. In 2016, there was a failed coup against Erdogan which left scores of people killed and led to a purge in Turkey’s security apparatus.

Concerns about the Montreux Convention were expressed in a similar open letter last year by retired Turkish diplomats. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the time that the canal project will not compromise the treaty.

US Supreme Court rules in favor of Google in largest-ever programming copyright case

SCOTUS has ruled that tech giant Google did not violate copyright law by reusing some 11,330 lines of code and other elements of fellow Big Tech player Oracle’s Java platform to build its wildly popular Android OS.

The $8 billion copyright case against Google landed heavily in the tech giant’s favor on Monday, with six judges finding in favor of the company and just two dissenting in support of Oracle.

Google had argued its reuse of the code in question was in line with “long-settled, common practice[s] in the industry,” insisting there is no copyright protection governing “purely functional, noncreative computer code” of the sort it lifted from Oracle to build Android in 2007.

In evaluating the case, Justice Stephen Breyer described how “for argument’s sake,” the court acted as if “the material was copyrightable,” noting that its conclusions ultimately did not change because the “copying here at issue nonetheless constituted a fair use. Hence, Google's copying did not violate the copyright law.”

Breyer was joined in his 62-page opinion by members of the court’s liberal wing, as well as Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Chief Justice John Roberts. The case was heard in October by just eight justices, as Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had recently died and Justice Amy Coney Barrett had not yet been confirmed to the court.

“Oracle’s code at issue here is copyrightable, and Google’s use of that copyrighted code was anything but fair,” Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in his dissenting opinion, joined by Justice Samuel Alito.

The case represented the largest Supreme Court case regarding programming copyright in US history. The lawsuit has been underway for a shocking 10 years. Big Tech firms like Microsoft and IBM reportedly sympathized with Google, while the more copyright-minded – including the Motion Picture Association of America and the Recording Industry Association of America – favored Oracle in the dispute.

Google released Android in 2007, and the software has risen to become the most popular smartphone operating system in the world.

However, Oracle insisted the megacorporation had illegally copied 37 Java application programming interfaces (APIs) to be used as the framework for its operating system – a charge Google rejected, claiming APIs were “like an alphabet or a grammar” and thus couldn’t be copyrighted.

50 UK aristocrats, some owning castles, applied for taxpayer-funded scheme aimed at saving businesses amid lockdown – media

Dozens of wealthy nobles have applied for aid that was intended to help struggling businesses survive the lockdowns during the coronavirus pandemic, a media report says.

The government’s popular job retention programme allows businesses to apply for grants that cover the majority of wages for workers they were forced to furlough during the lockdown.

A least 50 nobles, including dukes, earls, viscounts, and marquesses, have asked for financial aid under the scheme, the Guardian reported on Monday, citing public records. The list is said to include owners of lavish inherited estates, castles, tens of thousands of acres of land, and expensive art collections, as well as hereditary peers already paid by taxpayers to sit in the House of Lords.

The Duke and Duchess of Rutland made four claims of up to £10,000 in December, rising to between £10,000 and £25,000 in January. They are now divorced and live in separate parts of the duke’s ancestral home, the majestic Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire, which was recently featured in ‘The Crown’, a TV series about the British royals.

The Rutlands also claimed up to £55,000 for a cafe and a clothes shop they own. The media estimated the duke’s fortune at £125 million in 2013.

Among other claimants was the Viscount of Cowdray, who owns a 16,500-acre park estate with a golf course and a polo club that was frequented by Prince Charles. Another aristocrat, the Earl of Dalhousie, received up to £100,000 in January for a company that operates Brechin Castle in Scotland.

Some aristocrats told the paper they were eligible to benefit from the programme just like everyone else. A spokesperson for the 7,000-acre Wellington estate in Hampshire, co-owned by the Earl of Mornington, heir to the title Duke of Wellington, said that some of its employees were furloughed because Covid-19 restrictions were “preventing the business in question from trading.”

Likewise, the Marquess of Northampton claimed up to £10,000 in December, rising to £25,000 in January, for a hotel. He had an estimated net worth of more than £100 million in 2017, according to a media report. A spokesperson told the paper that “at a time of great uncertainty” the money received from the government was used, “as it was intended, to save jobs.”

As has been the case with similar revelations in the past, the news of wealthy aristocrats receiving government aid ruffled some feathers in Parliament. Labour Party MP Olivia Blake said that the furlough scheme was meant to “be a lifeline for businesses hit hardest by the pandemic,” and it should be checked if the money “has gone to those who really need it.”

In February, the Daily Mirror reported that a total of £455,000 was claimed in December for firms linked to four dukes whose combined personal wealth was estimated at £1.5 billion. Also in February, a report by the Sun said that the same furlough scheme was used by the likes of filmmaker Guy Ritchie and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The revelations sparked outrage on social media and a debate on the use of public funds amid the pandemic.

Yellen also called on countries to keep their fiscally stimulative policy going, and highlighted her priorities for fighting climate change and reducing global poverty.

'Absolute malarkey': '60 Minutes' airs deceptively edited segment accusing Gov. Ron DeSantis of corruption

CBS News' "60 minutes" was blasted on Sunday by a top Democratic official in Florida and the state's largest grocery store chain after it aired a deceptively edited segment insinuating that Governor Ron DeSantis (R) engaged in a "pay to play" scheme with COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

On Sunday evening, CBS News' Sharyn Alfonsi reported that DeSantis received a $100,000 donation to his PAC from Publix grocery stores, which later partnered with the state to distribute COVID-19 vaccines. "60 Minutes" aired a clip of Alfonsi confronting DeSantis at a press conference south of Orlando, accusing the governor of "pay to play" by giving Publix exclusive rights to distribute the vaccine after he received that donation.

The governor said Alfonsi was "wrong" and spreading a "fake narrative" and proceeded to correct the record, but his long answer was cut out of the segment by CBS News' editors.

The Daily Wire reported the transcript of the segment, highlighting in bold the parts of DeSantis' answer that were edited out of the clip.

Ron DeSantis: —that, that's a fake narrative. So, first of all, when we did, the first pharmacies that had it were CVS and Walgreens. And they had a long-term care mission. So they were going to the long-term care facilities. They got the vaccine in the middle of December, they started going to the long-term care facilities the third week of December to do LTCs. So that was their mission. That was very important. And we trusted them to do that. As we got into January, we wanted to expand the distribution points. So yes, you had the counties, you had some drive-through sites, you had hospitals that were doing a lot, but we wanted to get it into communities more. So we reached out to other retail pharmacies — Publix, Walmart — obviously CVS and Walgreens had to finish that mission. And we said, we're going to use you as soon as you're done with that. For Publix, they were the first one to raise their hand, say they were ready to go. And you know what, we did it on a trial basis. I had three counties. I actually showed up that weekend and talked to seniors across four different Publix. How was the experience? Is this good? Should you think this is a way to go? And it was 100% positive. So we expanded it, and then folks liked it. And I can tell you, if you look at a place like Palm Beach County, they were kind of struggling at first in terms of the senior numbers. I went, I met with the county mayor. I met with the administrator. I met with all the folks in Palm Beach County, and I said, "Here's some of the options: we can do more drive-through sites, we can give more to hospitals, we can do the Publix, we can do this." They calculated that 90% of their seniors live within a mile and a half of a Publix. And they said, "We think that would be the easiest thing for our residents." So, we did that, and what ended up happening was, you had 65 Publix in Palm Beach. Palm Beach is one of the biggest counties, one of the most elderly counties, we've done almost 75% of the seniors in Palm Beach, and the reason is because you have the strong retail footprint. So our way has been multifaceted. It has worked. And we're also now very much expanding CVS and Walgreens, now that they've completed the long-term care mission.

CDC boss Rochelle Walensky says youth sports fueling uptick in COVID-19 cases

Youth sports are helping to fuel the worrisome rise in COVID-19 cases among young people, the head of the CDC said Monday.

“We are learning that many outbreaks in young people are related to youth sports and extracurricular activities,’’ Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the federal agency’s director, said at a White House briefing.

“This is among 18- to 24-year-olds where we’re actually seeing some peaks in cases,’’ she said. “Cases are increasing nationally, and we’re seeing this predominantly in younger adults.’’

The latest daily average of new US cases in the past week is 4,970, said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention chief — up 3 percent from the daily average during the previous seven-day period.

Walenksy stressed that the way to combat the uptick was through health protocols such as testing.

She said it is still unclear whether the virus’s more transmissible variants may be behind the increase in COVID-19 among young people.

“We don’t yet have evidence to say,” Walensky said.

Customs and Border Protection added a 90,000 migrant processing facility in Texas.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection today announced the opening of a soft-sided facility in Eagle Pass, Texas. The facility’s primary purpose is to safely and expeditiously process individuals in U.S. Border Patrol custody,” the agency’s press release notes.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials continued, describing the facility as “weatherproof, climate-controlled, and is expected to provide ample areas for eating, sleeping, and personal hygiene.”

“The 90,000 square foot facility sits on five acres adjacent to the Eagle Pass South Station, which houses the Del Rio Sector Central Processing Center. The temporary facility will provide additional processing capacity for Border Patrol’s Del Rio Sector,” the press release adds.

A former staffer for Rep. Matt Gaetz held a press conference to diminish media rumors – which resulted in a visit with the Federal Bureau of Investigation – that he was aware of allegations the Florida congressman engaged in illegal activity.

“Nothing could be further from the truth. Neither I nor any member of his staff had knowledge of illegal activities,” Nathan Nelson said at the April 5th press conference in Florida.

Despite members on the media contacting him to claim his departure from the office was linked to Rep. Gaetz’s federal investigation, Nelson insisted the idea was “baseless,” adding he had planned to leave his position before the investigation and extortion plot became public knowledge. These media rumors led to two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents questioning him at his house over Gaetz’s alleged involvement in illegal activities, which the sources spun as the impetus for Nelson’s resignation.

“Mr. Nelson said that because facts surrounding his departure were falsely reported, he believes the claims against Mr. Gaetz are also untrue,” The Washington Times added.

“This baseless claim against me leaves me further convinced that the allegations against Congressman Gaetz are likewise fabricated and an attempt to discredit a vocal conservative,” Nelson concluded.

Hunter Biden Casts Doubt On Secret Service Involvement In Gun Incident, Contradicting His Own Text Messages From 2019

Hunter Biden said he does not believe that the Secret Service got involved in a search for his handgun after his sister-in-law and then-girlfriend threw it in a trash can in October 2018.

Biden’s comments in a CBS “This Morning” interview on Monday would appear to conflict with text messages he reportedly sent several months after the incident in which he referred to Secret Service involvement in the search for his gun.

“I don’t know whether the Secret Service were, or why they would be. I don’t think that’s true, to my knowledge,” Biden said in an interview with CBS News regarding reports that the Secret Service intervened in the Oct. 23, 2018 incident.

Politico reported last month that Hallie Biden, the sister-in-law to Hunter, reported his gun missing to police in Wilmington, Delaware.

Hallie, who was also in a romantic relationship with Hunter at the time, said that she threw his gun in a trash can behind a supermarket after taking it from his vehicle, according to Politico. She reported the firearm missing after she went back to the store to try to retrieve it.

Delaware state police, the FBI and Secret Service took part in the search for the gun, according to Politico.

Politico also reported that the owner of a gun store in Delaware said that Secret Service agents requested paperwork regarding the sale of the firearm to Biden.

The store owner said that he refused to provide documents to the Secret Service, fearing that the agency would try to cover up the incident, according to Politico. He later sent paperwork to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The Secret Service and White House said last week that there were no records showing that Secret Service personnel were involved in the investigation, Politico reported. Senate Republicans noted in a letter to the Secret Service last week that the agency was not providing protection to the Biden family at the time of the incident.

Rachel Levine: Transgender Drugs, Surgeries for Minors ‘Health Equity Issue’

Rachel Levine, assistant secretary of the Biden Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), criticized efforts in some states to ban minors from obtaining transgender drugs and surgeries, saying such bans constitute a “health equity issue.”

During an interview last week with NPR, transgender Levine said bills banning young people from accessing drugs, such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and transgender surgeries, such as elective double mastectomies, as well as bans against males competing in women’s sports are all “really challenging to see.”

Levine, born Richard Levine, said these transgender issues are not political, but very appropriate to address by one of the nation’s top health officials.

“I don’t see it as a political issue at all,” Levine said. “I view this as a health equity issue. This is about fairness and equality and about specifically health equity, which is part of my portfolio. So, I don’t see any risk in terms of politicization of this issue.”

In 2017, Levine delivered an address titled “It’s a Transgeneration: Issues in Transgender Medicine” to an audience at Franklin & Marshall College.

The former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Levine said during remarks that those in the transgender medical industry who are seeing gender dysphoric teens from the “street,” living in homeless shelters, should not go through the usual procedure of first administering puberty blockers to stop normal puberty, but instead immediately prescribe cross-sex hormones.

Levine told listeners that homeless teens who say they are transgender have been “essentially thrown out by their parents because of their gender identity and expression,” and added that “street youth” not living with their parents should not receive puberty blockers but instead “accelerate” with cross-sex hormones “so that the young people feel validated and are getting care consistent with their path.”

In his questioning of Levine during the latter’s Senate confirmation hearing in February, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), an ophthalmologist, referred to the talk the nominee gave in 2017. He asked Levine:

Do you support the government intervening to override the parent’s consent to give a child puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and or amputation surgery of breasts and genitalia? You have said that you’re willing to accelerate the protocols for street kids. I’m alarmed that poor kids with no parents who are homeless and distraught, you would just go through this and allow that to happen to a minor.

Levine failed to answer Paul’s questions, including Paul’s question, “Do you believe that minors are capable of making such a life-changing decision as changing one’s sex?”

The nominee merely repeated a prepared response, saying:

Senator, transgender medicine is a very complex and nuanced field, and if confirmed to the position of Assistant Secretary of Health, I would certainly be pleased to come to your office and talk with you and your staff about the standards of care and the complexity of this field.

Criminal Alien Arrests near U.S. Border Exceed 4500 in 2021

As the Border Patrol struggles to deal with the surge of migrants this fiscal year, one law enforcement source, speaking on a condition of anonymity, informs Breitbart Texas that more than 4,500 criminal aliens with serious records have been apprehended since October 1, 2020–the beginning of Fiscal Year 2021.

The term criminal alien is not used by the Border Patrol to refer to migrants with standalone immigration violations. It is reserved for those with convictions for state and federal crimes like murder, rape, sexual assault, burglary, robbery, narcotics, and others.

On March 19, 2021, Border Patrol agents arrested eight subjects near Mission, Texas. Agents discovered one Honduran in the group had a prior arrest by the Suffolk County Police Department in New York in 2007.

The Honduran was charged with rape and forcible compulsion and course of sexual conduct against a child. He was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Two days earlier, Border Patrol agents working near Falfurrias, Texas, arrested a Mexican national with a prior arrest in 2015 for rape by the Sandy Springs Police Department in Georgia. In that case, the man was convicted and sentenced to 20 years confinement, of which he served five.

CBP reports demonstrate that Fiscal Year 2021 is on pace to double the number of sex offenders apprehended, compared to the year prior in southern California. The San Diego Sector began tracking the annual apprehension of sex offenders in 2019.

Although only a small percentage of the migrants illegally entering the country have extensive criminal backgrounds, the source is concerned that many are eluding apprehension. As Border Patrol struggles to process and provide humanitarian care for the latest surge, fewer agents are on normal duty.

The number of migrants avoiding apprehension by Border Patrol exceeded 130,000 during the last six months.

‘Soviet Indoctrination’ – Teach ‘White Privilege’ to Toddlers, Unions Demand

Lessons on so-called “white privilege” are needed to combat “racial prejudice” within children, according to new guidance drawn up by a group of education charities and unions.

The guidance came in the form of a 128-page paper entitled ‘Birth to 5 Matters from the Early Years Coalition’, which was developed over the past six months by representatives from the National Education Union (NEU), the National Day Nurseries Association, and the Association for Professional Development in Early Years.

The paper claimed that “talking about race is a first step in countering racism. It is a mistaken assumption that treating all people in the same way and ignoring differences in race is a sufficient response to racism.

“This approach simply allows the continuation of bias in society which disadvantages people from black and minoritised groups. Instead of a colour-blind approach to race, more proactive anti-racism is needed.”

“It is also time to challenge the widespread notion that ‘children do not see race’ and are colour blind to difference,” the guidance continued, adding: “When adults are silent about race, children’s racial prejudice and misconceptions can be maintained or reinforced.”

“Encouraging dialogue and conversation about difference can evoke children’s strong sense of fairness and break down false assumptions about everyone being able to succeed on their merits, so that children recognise racist behaviours and develop anti-racist views.”

A spokesman for the Department of Education said that the guidance is not government policy, and the paper has not been endorsed by the government.

The chairman of the House of Commons Education select committee, Robert Halfon MP, said: “This is just unacceptable. This dogma and doctrine is totally out of place. We have all got to combat racism but this is the absolute wrong way to go about it, and insults white working-class people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“The whole purpose of children learning is to learn, not for some kind of political Soviet indoctrination session.”

London mayoral candidate and Heritage Party leader David Kurten added: “This is wrong. Children must not be subjected to poisonous Cultural Marxist critical race theory.”

Sir John Hayes, the chairman of the Common Sense Group of Tory MPs, said that most parents would be “horrified” by the notion that their children would be told how “privileged or underprivileged they were depending on their race.”

“If you tell some children they are privileged you have to by definition tell some others that they are not, that they are somehow disadvantaged or underprivileged. It is really destructive to the welfare of children,” Sir John conlcuded.

In September, a report submitted to the House of Commons Education Select Committee found that white working-class students have been the most systematically disadvantaged in Britain’s education system, as more emphasis has been placed on helping children from minority backgrounds regardless of class.

The following month, a political science professor, Matthew Goodwin, told the same committee that the proliferation of leftist ideas such as “white privilege” and “toxic masculinity” has resulted in working-class boys being further left behind, with educators more interested in focusing on the “historical grievances” of other races.

USA Today pushing for ban on sale of “tactical gear” to civilians with highly slanted piece that only mentions right-leaning groups, not armed leftist anarchists

Left-wing national newspaper USA Today has published a highly biased piece critical of companies that sell tactical gear to civilians in a thinly-veiled push to shame them into closing off that segment of their business.

The tone of the piece is essentially this: ‘Right-wing groups are the only ones who buy that stuff, and because they’re racists, bigots, homophobes and insurrectionists, so, too, are the companies that sell to them.’

According to a rolling USA TODAY analysis of the court documents for people charged in the Capitol riot, at least 20 were spotted in photos and videos wearing tactical gear. One popular item was a cloth plate carrier, which is designed to hold bulletproof plates and often includes pouches for ammunition magazines and Velcro for patches.

Federal prosecutors say Ohio bartender Jessica Watkins wore “camouflaged battle fatigues, a tactical vest emblazoned with an Oath Keepers patch, combat boots, military grade helmet, and radio equipment.”

The paper went on to call out popular brands among patriots and conservatives such as Grunt Style in an attempt to associate them with the riot — a preposterous suggestion. Grunt Style promotes America-first patriotism as well as living the life of “This We’ll Defend,” which is the motto for the U.S. Army.

After a photo of a Capitol rioter made the rounds online in January, the $100 million company came under scrutiny by left-wing hacks and losers in the media and elsewhere as to where its principal officers stood — as in, were they for the riot or against it.

“To be clear, we will not associate with anyone who threatens our Republic or promotes violence.” Grunt Style CEO Glenn Silbert said, adding that it isn’t his job or that of the brand to tell people what to think.

“We focus on pride in self, military and country; that’s our audience,” Silbert said in an email to 3 million subscribers. “Like any brand, you’ll have people who identify with the brand even when the brand doesn’t identify with them.”

Meanwhile, Michigan’s Justin Nazaroff, manufacturer of Fenix Ammunition, has taken the opposite approach, USA Today was sure to point out.

Nazaroff, who has often criticized the state’s authoritarian governor, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, and Joe Biden over his gun policies, no longer sells to police and has defended posting images of the Boogaloo Boys, a group he correctly states has been wrongly vilified by the left.

“Second Amendment absolutists and extremists aren’t the same,” Nazaroff said. “I don’t want customers who don’t believe in the Second Amendment or vote for political candidates that will pass laws to take away the Second Amendment.”

And he is well within his rights to do that, especially if Facebook and Twitter, as ‘businesses,’ can censor and ban conservatives and Trump supporters.

Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch is rumored to have turned control of the company to its chief legal officer - who is also the godfather of his son - after abruptly moving back to Australia last month.

The New York Times published a profile on the chief legal officer, Viet Dinh, on Sunday, which examined the 'sociable and relentless' Republican lawyer's role at Fox Corp.

Lachlan, the son of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, left Los Angeles for Australia amid claims that Joe Biden's election made things 'rough' for his family, given Fox Corp's reputation as catering to the GOP.

Fox Corp has publicly insisted that Lachan is still very much in charge of the company and has even been keeping nocturnal hours from Sydney, working from midnight to 10am to stay on an American schedule.

However Fox Corp insiders told the Times that Lachlan's move intensified Dinh's power in the company.

Dinh, 53, met Lachlan at the acclaimed Aspen Institute in 2003 after already having made a name for himself in politics as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy under President George W Bush.

Lachlan later offered Dinh a seat on the Fox Corp board and also asked him to be the godfather to his son as their relationship grew to extend beyond business.

The Times spoke to two former Fox employees and one current and one former Fox News employee familiar with Dinh's role who described him as Lachlan's 'omnipresent right hand'.

The sources said that Dinh doesn't run day-to-day programming but manages the company's political operation and serves as a key voice in setting the corporate agenda.

A Fox Corp spokeswoman did not mince words when approached by the Times for comment about claims that Dinh 'is exercising operational control over Fox's business units' - calling those claims 'false and malicious'.

Dinh also dismissed the claims as 'flat-out false' in a recent interview with legal writer David Lat, whose article about the executive was titled: 'Is Viet Dinh the Most Powerful Lawyer in America?'

'To ascribe any role to me other than my day job, which is overseeing legal, regulatory and government affairs, is not only false, it would mean I have far more time than I actually do,' Dinh told Lat.

'Lachlan hired me for what is very much a full-time job, which I can barely manage to do with 24 hours in the day.'

However, the Times noted that Dinh's salary - which came in at a whopping $24million in 2019 - suggests that he plays a major role in the company.

NY Senate just passed a concentration camp bill to forcibly throw people in camps, just like the Nazis did in World War II

The Democrat-dominated New York state Senate has passed a bill “allowing” government officials to throw people in concentration camps indefinitely if they are deemed to be a public health threat.

The next phase of the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) plandemic, the legislation reflects what the Nazis did in World War II when they decided that human rights no longer apply during a “crisis.”

Should the bill get signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, even healthy people who are deemed to be “contagious” could be scooped up and thrown in prison camps for the “safety” of the general public.

Assembly Bill A416 “relates to the removal of cases, contacts and carriers of communicable diseases who are potentially dangerous to the public health,” the bill reads.

Anyone deemed a “case” or even just a contact of “case” who might be “infected” or possibly a “carrier” of any illness, not just the Chinese virus, would become a target of government officials in New York who would have leeway and discretion to respond as they see fit.

The legislation specifically states that as long as the “opinion of the governor” dictates that a person is a threat, he or she could be removed from the home and placed in government “care” for as long as the governor sees fit.

“Such person or group of persons shall be detained in a medical facility or other appropriate facility or premises designated by the governor or his or her delegee and complying with subdivision five of this section,” the bill further reads.

In essence, AB A416 overrides the Constitution and replaces it with a new system of authoritarianism whereby the government, at least in New York, will now have unlimited power to take people from their homes and deprive them of life and liberty on a whim.

All the government would have to do is accuse a person of possibly being infected with a “virus” and that would justify that person’s removal from society. Just think of how many political dissidents might be swept up in this scheme and eliminated under the guise of public health.

Perhaps the worst part about the bill is the fact that entire groups of people would be targets merely for being around a person who is accused of being an infection “carrier.”

Iran Calls for Immediate, Full Sanctions Relief

Officials won't cut enrichment for 'step-by-step' measures

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement saying they will maintain their enhanced enrichment level until they get full and immediate sanctions relief as required under the P5+1 nuclear deal.

Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that proposals for a “step-by-step” process had been suggested, and would see Iran reversing its nuclear process, for only a small step of US engagement in the process. He said Iran considers this unacceptable.

With indirect talks coming up, France is urging Iran to avoid any further escalation as both sides try to work out the disagreements and get the process back into good standing, with everyone getting what they believe they’re entitled to under the nuclear deal.

That shouldn’t be that difficult, provided the US returns to the deal and is willing to apply sanctions relief as agreed to years ago. US refusal to keep the deal, and efforts to undermine everyone else’s enforcement of the deal, has been the chief reason Iran feels aggrieved, and why for the past years Iran has been reversing parts of its own participation in the deal, and letting its stockpile grow, to try to get talks on fixing the process.

These pictures show the inside of a Dubai balcony stunt which saw more than a dozen naked women arrested for public debauchery.

One image shows at least 19 women preparing for the naked shoot, which was reportedly for an Israeli porn site.

They are crowded onto sofas and chairs, possibly around a photographer, inside the apartment.

A second photo shows nine nude women standing on a balcony in the United Arab Emirates city.

At least one woman is dressed and sat on sofa inside the apartment in the picture, while another person appears to be directing the naked models from the left of the shot.

News of the naked photoshoot first surfaced in a widely-shared video showing the models posing on the balcony.

The stunt could be damaging for UAE-Israeli relations, which were only formalised in the Abraham Accords, signed at the White House on September 15 last year.

The historic agreement, which also included Bahrain, saw formal diplomatic ties between the Gulf States and Israel established for the first time since the country's formation.

Israeli and Emirati passport holders were granted access to the other state as part of the agreement, creating an influx of traffic in both directions.

Emiratis in particular have made an effort to welcome their new visitors, with displays of Israeli produce in Dubai supermarkets and by lighting up the Burj Khalifa with a Menorah for the Jewish festival of lights in December.

However, this latest prank could damage the new relationship because the models have violated the UAE's public decency laws.

The legislation, which covers nudity and other 'lewd behaviour', carries penalties of up to six months in prison and a 5,000 dirham (£983) fine.

The sharing of pornographic material is also punishable with prison time and a fine of up to 500,000 dirhams under the country's laws, which are based on Islamic law, or Shariah.

The models in the naked photoshoot were part of a publicity stunt for an Israeli website, believed to be a version of a US adult website - which has not been named.
