Pfizer halts corona vaccine shipments to Israel after country fails to pay

A shipment of 700,000 doses was expected to arrive in Israel on Sunday but was halted until further notice.

Pfizer has halted shipments of coronavirus vaccines to Israel in outrage over the country failing to transfer payment for the last 2.5 million doses it supplied to the country, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Senior officials at Pfizer have said they are concerned that the government-in-transition will not pay up and the company does not want to be taken advantage of. They said that they do not understand how such a situation can occur in an organized country.

Army Radio reported that Pfizer called Israel a “banana republic.”

A shipment of 700,000 doses was expected to arrive in Israel on Sunday but was delayed until further notice.

Pfizer told the Post that the company has completed all deliveries to Israel under its initial agreement to provide its COVID-19 vaccine, signed in November 2020.

"The company is currently working with the Israeli government to update the agreement, to supply additional vaccines to the country. While this work continues, shipments may be adjusted," the company said in a statement.

The Health Ministry would not comment on the statement.

Fauci: Federal government won’t mandate vaccine passports

Dr. Anthony Fauci, in a Politico Dispatch podcast interview published Monday, said that the federal government will not require the use of vaccine passports for travel or business.

“I doubt that the federal government will be the main mover of a vaccine passport concept,” Fauci, the nation’s foremost infectious disease expert,

“They may be involved in making sure things are done fairly and equitably, but I doubt if the federal government is going to be the leading element of that.”

This echoes what the White House said last week that vaccine passports will be driven by the private sector.

Fauci’s comments also come as many Republicans express outrage at the concept. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Friday went as far as to ban them from being mandated via executive order.

During the interview, Fauci also said he believes “individual entities,” including theaters and colleges, will be the ones to decide on passports.

“I’m not saying that they should or that they would, but I’m saying you could foresee how an independent entity might say, ‘Well, we can’t be dealing with you unless we know you’re vaccinated,’ but it’s not going to be mandated from the federal government,” he said.

Kremlin Replies On Situation In Eastern Ukraine

On April 5, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that uncontrolled shootings begin in the Donbass region. He stressed out that decisions to open fire are made on the spot by the field commanders of the Ukrainian forces.

It seems that the Kremlin changed its tacit policy towards the military escalation in Eastern Ukraine, and Moscow officials made a number of loud claims:

” The Kremlin considers that it is important to ensure the safety of all citizens of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass” – said Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary for the President of Russia.

“The Russian army moves through the territory of Russia, the way and where it sees fit” – the Kremlin.

“The Russian army does not pose any threat to any other country in the world” – the Kremlin.

In recent weeks, large-scale movements of Russian troops towards the borders with Ukraine and in Crimea have been observed. This served as an excuse for the Ukrainian side to mobilize its forces. However, Kiev is silent about the movement of its own echelons with military equipment towards DLPR, which took place weeks before the maneuvers in Russia. The movements of the Russian troops on the territory of their own country are rather of a retaliatory measure.

According to the special statement by Public Militia of Donetsk People Republic (DPR), on April 3, Ukrainian soldiers carried out an attack on civilian settlements, using an UAV trapped with an improvised explosive device. The attack was carried out by the Ukrainian 59 brigade in the village of Aleksandrovskoe, DPR. As a result, 5-years-old boy was killed and a women was injured. Amid the claims that such reports are false, photos of the allegedly killed boy emerged online.

Despite different claims from the both sides, it is evident that the death of a child, real or fake, may serve to create a sacred victim and trigger the following sharp military escalation.

Previously, the Kremlin was not active in public debates on the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, commenting only on the issues that were directly related to the Russian Federation. It is highly likely that Moscow is going to change its policy in coming days.

The U.S. will ignore the message from Anchorage. It is already testing China over Taiwan, and is preparing an escalation in Ukraine, to test Russia.

This is the essence of the Chinese resistance economy – a strategy which has been fully unveiled in the wake of the Anchorage talks; talks that silenced any lingering thoughts in Beijing that America might somehow find some modus vivendi with Beijing in its headlong pursuit of primacy over China.

Although earlier there had been tantalising glimpses of déshabillé, the full reveal to China’s tough stance and rhetoric has only been permitted now – post-Anchorage – and the talks’ confirmation that the U.S. intends to block China’s ascent.

If it is assumed that this ‘resistance’ initiative constitutes some tit-for-tat ‘jab’ at Washington – through sinking Biden’s Iran ambitions, as revenge for America loudly crying ‘war crimes’ (‘genocide’ in Xingjian) – then we miss wholly its full import. The scope of the Iran pact by far transcends trade and investment, as one commentator in the Chinese state media made plain: “As it stands, this deal (the Iran pact) will totally upend the prevailing geopolitical landscape in the West Asian region that has for so long been subject to U.S. hegemony”.

So here is the essence to ‘a clever combatant moving to impose his will’ – there is no need for China or Russia or Iran to go to war to do this; they just implement ‘it’. They can do ‘it’ – quite simply. They don’t need a revolution to do it, because they have no vested interest in fighting America.

What is ‘it’? It is not just a trade and investment pact with Tehran; neither is it simply allies helping each other. The ‘resistance’ lies precisely with the way they’re trying to help each other. It is a mode of economic development. It represents the notion that any rent-yielding resource – banking, land, natural resources and natural infrastructure monopolies – should be in the public domain to provide basic needs to everybody – freely.

The alternative way simply is to privatise these ‘public goods’ (as in the West), where they are provided at a financialized maximum cost – including interest rates, dividends, management fees, and corporate manipulations for financial gain.

‘It’ is then a truly different economic approach. To give one example: New York’s Second Avenue Subway extension cost $6 billion, or $2 billion per mile – the most expensive urban mass transit ever built. The average cost of underground subway lines outside the U.S. is $350 million a mile, or a sixth of New York’s cost.

How does this ‘it’ change everything? Well, just imagine for a moment: the biggest element in anyone’s budget today is housing at 40%, which simply reflects high house prices, based on a debt-fuelled market. Instead, imagine that proportion at 10% (as in China). Suppose too, you have low-cost public education. Well then, you are rid of education-led debt, and its interest cost. Suppose you have public healthcare, and low priced transport infrastructure. Then you would have the capacity to spend – It becomes a low-cost economy, and consequently it would grow.

Unaccompanied Minors Sent to Contaminated Military Bases

In a move that was condemned by environmental justice advocates on Friday, President Joe Biden’s administration sent 500 unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors to Fort Bliss — a highly contaminated and potentially hazardous military base in El Paso, Texas — and is reportedly considering using additional toxic military sites as detention centers for migrant children in U.S. custody.

“We are extremely concerned to hear of plans to detain immigrant children in Fort Bliss. Military bases filled with contaminated sites are no place for the healthy development of any child,” Melissa Legge, an attorney at Earthjustice, said in a statement.

“We recognize that the humanitarian situation at the border needs to be addressed in humanity, compassion, and expediency,” Legge continued. “Part of that requires keeping children away from toxic military sites.”

“While we are hopeful that the Biden administration will keep children safe, we remain vigilant and ready to continue protecting detained minors in toxic facilities,” she added. “Immigrant children under the care of the federal government should not be in cages, let alone toxic sites in military bases.”

The Biden administration announced last week that facilities at Fort Bliss “would serve as temporary housing for up to 5,000 unaccompanied minors,” the El Paso Times reported Tuesday. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said “it will reserve the Fort Bliss accommodations for boys ages 13 to 17. Military personnel won’t staff the site or provide care for the children, who are in the custody and care of HHS.”

There are 17,641 unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors in U.S. custody as of Tuesday, according to ABC News. Over 5,600 children are being held in overcrowded facilities run by Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which falls under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), while more than 12,000 are under the supervision of HHS.

Although DHS is supposed to transfer minors to the HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement within 72 hours — after which children are housed in one of more than 200 HHS-approved shelters in 22 states until they can be placed with a family member or another suitable sponsor — thousands have been stuck for far longer than legally allowed in squalid conditions.

SPLC Predicts 'More Violence' Because Republicans Don't Buy the Left's Narrative on the Capitol Riot

On Monday, Reuters published a supposedly damning report about Republicans’ attitudes on the January 6 Capitol riot. “Half of Republicans believe false accounts of deadly U.S. Capitol riot: Reuters/Ipsos poll,” the headline reads. The article cited a spokesperson from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) — which brands mainstream conservative and Christian organizations “hate groups” and plots them on a map with the Ku Klux Klan — who claimed the poll portends more violence.

“That is the biggest danger – normalizing this behavior,” Susan Corke, director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project (the division of the SPLC that manages the “hate group” accusations), told Reuters. “I do think we are going to see more violence.”

Corke’s claim should not be surprising. After the Capitol riot, the SPLC called for Congress to censure or expel every single Republican who voted to contest the results of the 2020 election. The SPLC has dialed up the Democrats’ fears, fueling the domestic “War on Terror.” The Democrats’ fear mongering about the riot is likely fueling Republicans’ skepticism about the Left’s narrative of the event.

“Since the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies have pushed false and misleading accounts to downplay the event that left five dead and scores of others wounded. His supporters appear to have listened,” reporters James Oliphant and Chris Kahn wrote.

While some of the results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll are indeed concerning, Oliphant and Kahn painted some of the responses in a misleading light.

“Three months after a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to try to overturn his November election loss, about half of Republicans believe the siege was largely a non-violent protest or was the handiwork of left-wing activists ‘trying to make Trump look bad,’ a new Reuters/Ipsos poll has found,” they wrote.

The specific claim that many Republicans “believe the siege was largely a non-violent protest” actually conflicts with the results of the poll. From this claim, readers might think the pollsters asked respondents if the “Capitol riot” or “the siege of the Capitol” or the “attack on the Capitol” was “non-violent.”

In reality, pollsters asked, “To what extend to you agree or disagree with the following statements? The people who gathered at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 were mostly peaceful, law-abiding Americans.”

Bangladesh Ferry Accident Kills at Least 26

DHAKA—A Bangladesh ferry carrying around 50 passengers collided with a cargo vessel and sank on Sunday in the Shitalakhsya River south of the capital Dhaka, leaving at least 26 people dead and a few still missing, officials said.

Twenty-one bodies had been recovered on Monday. The ferry sank just after it departed from the industrial Narayanganj district about 20 km (12 miles) from Dhaka, to Munshiganj, said Mustain Billah, a Narayanganj district administrator.

“Most of the bodies were found inside the sunken boat after it was dragged to the bank,” he said, adding a few still could be missing.

Police and officials said some of the passengers managed to swim ashore.

Michigan’s Soros Connected Secretary of State Refuses to Testify Before Michigan Senate on the State’s Election Audit Process

Michigan’s Secretary of State is refusing to attend and testify in front of a Michigan Senate hearing regarding the state’s election audit process.

The Detroit Free Press reports:

A Republican senator is renewing requests for Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to testify before the Senate Oversight Committee, noting the Detroit Democrat has accepted other invitations at the national level.

Sen. Ed McBroom, the Vulcan Republican who chairs the Oversight Committee, sent a letter to Benson Monday after her staff informed him that she would not testify on the state’s election audit process at an April 20 hearing.

Instead, Michigan’s director of elections, Jonathan Brater, would testify because he “directly manages” the services the committee will be discussing.

“I believe it is imperative that the state’s chief election officer, ultimately elected to and charged with making the final decisions, be present as well,” McBroom said.

The Senate committee chairman noted he had offered to hold a pre-committee meeting with Benson to inform her of the questions and objectives of the committee and gave his cellphone number to Benson’s staff in an attempt to reach her.

Benson responded:

“Secretary Benson has repeatedly affirmed that she cannot in good conscience participate in such a charade, particularly after multiple members of the committee recently sponsored legislation to restrict the right to vote and, among other things, undermine Michigan voters’ state constitutional right to vote absentee,” Benson spokesman Jake Rollow said.

GOP Arkansas Governor Vetoes Bill Which Bans Gender Transition Procedures For Minors

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (R) on Monday vetoed HB 1570, which bans gender transition procedures for minors.

“The GOP-sponsored legislation prohibits health care providers from administering gender transition treatments, which can include surgery and hormone therapy, to people under 18.” – the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.

Governor Hutchinson called the bill a “vast government overreach.” and referred to it as a “product of the cultural war in America.”

“While in some instances the state must act to protect life, the state should not presume to jump into the middle of every medical, human, and ethical issue,” he said.

The Arkansas legislature can override Governor Hutchinson’s veto with a simple majority.

Eighteen months after Mark Carney officially announced the end of the Petrodollar, and its replacement by an IMF World Reserve Currency, the IMF announces that they will create $650 billion worth of Special Drawing Rights.

It's an astounding event. The IMF ceases lending in dollars, and starts using its own currency to bail out nations. Ninety have asked for 'assistance', their finances savaged by the lockdown.

$650 billion may not sound like much but this is only the beginning. Soon the IMF will be throwing around trillions worth of SDR like the Fed now is doing with USD.

The idea is that the IMF currency can be used as reserve currency. And they will, the Petrodollar is inflating badly, and has lost perhaps as much as half of its value in real terms over the last 18 months or so. The Euro and the Yen are also in bad shape, hiding the true extent of the dollar's decline. Nobody is going to be happy to see their reserves (or savings) melt away.

This may sound either bizarre, or even hardly relevant, but it is. Everybody is bamboozled by the Lockdown and the 'virus', but in the background a huge financial crisis has been ongoing. Let's recapitulate the key events over the last few years, that led to this crunch moment in World History.

1. The foreplay was the Fed starting tapering in 2017. Presumably trying to take some of the liquidity they had injected during the 2008 Crunch out of the System. And raising rates. Texas COVID Cases Drop to Record Lows After Scrapping Mask Mandate

COVID Cases in the State are at Their Lowest Level Since June 2020

The number of new Texas COVID cases has dropped to record lows on the year in the weeks since the state moved to scrap mask mandates, despite hysterical warnings from mainstream media and the Biden regime that ditching the masks would result in mass casualties.

Newly released figures show the number of new Texas COVID cases has fallen from an all time high of over 30,000 in January of this year, to well under 10,000 by the final week of March.

According to graphs charting CDC data, the state’s number of new COVID cases skyrocketed from late fall to early winter, despite coinciding with vaccine rollouts and widespread enforcement of corporate-sponsored and government-mandated masking requirements.

Following the state’s move to end state-enforced mask mandates, those numbers began to decrease dramatically. Additionally, the Governor moved to allow businesses to operate at 100% capacity, stimulating a hard-hit economy while, contrary to the insistence of the Democrat-Media Complex, keeping Texans healthy and safe.

Texas is one of a handful of states to have scrapped mask mandates, and legislators nationwide are pushing their states to add their names to the list as frustration surrounding the mandates continues to grow and scientific studies continue to counter the insistence that masks are necessary to stop the spread of COVID.

As previously reported by National File, lawmakers in Idaho have mulled banning mask mandates in the state. Schoolchildren rallied in support of the effort outside the State Capitol, burning masks in protest of the mandates.

In Kansas, lawmakers overturned a mask mandate signed by Governor Laura Kelly immediately upon her signing, while in Florida, beaches and boardwalks have become jam packed, with Governor Ron DeSantis championing the scrapping of mask mandates nationwide. Additionally, a DeSantis-signed executive order prohibits localities from assessing fines to individuals caught violating local mask ordinances.

Pritzker Lobbies For Huge Federal Tax Cut For The Rich With Dishonest Letter To Biden

Gov. JB Pritzker and governors from six other high tax blue states sent a letter on April 1 to President Biden asking for elimination of the cap on SALT deductions for federal income tax calculations. That’s the cap of $10,000 on deductibility of state and local taxes, including property taxes, that became law in 2017.

The letter is heavy on claims of unfairness to the middle class. The opposite is true.

The SALT cap increased “taxes on hardworking families,” says the letter. That’s “untenable given the dire economic conditions caused by the pandemic.” It goes on to say, “In short, middle-class Americans are struggling under this federal tax burden, while corporations – which are still able to fully deduct SALT as business expenses – are profiting because of the same law. The negative impacts of the SALT cap on middle class families are particularly egregious when you consider that in the states most affected by this cap, the federal government already takes more in federal taxes than the states receive in federal support, effectively subsidizing federal payments to other states.”

Tax analysts on the right and the left have documented why that’s completely false. The cap on SALT deductions was a windfall for the middle class and hammered high income taxpayers. The conservative Tax Foundation explained why here, and the liberal Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, ITEP, wrote this in an article opposing elimination of the cap:

ITEP estimated that this would cost more than $90 billion in a single year. We found that 62 percent of the benefits would go to the richest 1 percent and 86 percent would go to the richest 5 percent. There is no state where this is a primarily middle-class issue. In every state and the District of Columbia, more than half of the benefits would go to the richest 5 percent of taxpayers. In all but six states, more than half of the benefits would go to the richest 1 percent.

The 2017 changes helped the working class because they increased the standard deduction drastically from $6,500 to $12,000 for individual filers, from $13,000 to $24,000 for joint returns, and from $9,550 to $18,000 for heads of households. High income taxpayers, however, typically had SALT deductions far in excess of that, which are now capped at $10,000.

And there’s much more to it. Eliminating the SALT deduction depressed high end home prices severely. Moody’s Analytics provided a study, estimating that home prices are $1 trillion lower than they would be otherwise. And the hit was to homes for the wealthy, not the middle class, because capping the SALT deduction made the after-tax cost of expensive homes far higher.

That’s particularly true in Illinois. You can see it in Moody’s data below of the 40 hardest-hit counties below. They are all in high property tax states with relatively high incomes.

Notice that Cook County and all Chicago’s collar counties are on that list:

While allowing those who have been vaccinated to traverse more easily and engage in more activities, passports are also expected to put pressure on those who are resisting vaccination. “There is also some focus-group evidence that vaccine passports could help convince Americans who do not want to get inoculated to sign up for a shot,” New York Magazine reports.

Israel, with the highest vaccination rate in the world, launched a passport program in February.
