Only this morning, someone I respect immensely and who has great wisdom said the following simple, but profound words:
" The only way up, is down"
And in so many ways I agree, however sobering the thought.
It was after all Jesus Christ our saviour who suffered the greatest pain to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to absolve humanity of our sins.
And after his spirit left his body, he plunged down into the depths of Hades where he fought with and defeated death itself.
A sobering thought indeed if we are to use Christ as our model of the ultimate perfectness that we should emulate.
Yet a part of me says that we are up to that challenge .
Part of me says that we were built and intended for that challenge.
That we are far stronger than we are led to believe
That that IS the ultimate meaning of life… the ultimate challenge and the ultimate goal.
And part of me says that we should indeed reject the prophets of doom, and that we can achieve the ultimate triumph if we focus our faith and our efforts on success.
But should we fail, (and we won't), I would rather know that I did absolutely everything possible within my power and that I never lost faith and that I never gave up.
Sometimes we need to travel into the belly of the beast to find our true salvation.
AND WE ARE READY
AND WE WILL NEVER EVER GIVE UP
