Sounds like they were illegally manufactured, marked as Oxycontin but actually being Fentanyl. I wonder what Mr. Hall knows about that.

I had been thinking someone was making them in the U.S., but looks like a lot of these counterfeit pills are being smuggled in:

Deanne Reuter, DEA: "One of our laboratories tested all of the fentanyl pills that are coming in and 26% of the pills contained a lethal dose… The majority of the illicit fentanyl coming into the United States now is coming from Mexico. We’ll see it in powder form. We’ll also see it in pressed pills and the pills are made to look like oxycodone.”
