Watching a flight of 3 INTEL birds going up to SLC and return. Originally said they were from El Paso (big intel center)...but looks like they are from Ft. Huachuca, AZ...a much bigger intel center.
There's only so many reasons why you'd take three smaller birds vs one bigger one. The leading candidate in Anon's mind is redundancy. Whatever you're carrying absolutely, positively, cannot be lost or destroyed. So carry three identical versions on three separate a/c...just in case. fwiw.
