Iran knows they can do what they want with Obama/Biden in charge again.

Millions of crude oil barrels are on their way to Syria from Iran, violating U.S. sanctions.

According to a civilian naval intelligence firm, there are four vessels with more than 3 million barrels combined on their way to the Baniyas oil refinery, near the Mediterranean coast.

A satellite photo captured two days ago over the southern section of the Red Sea shows four vessels: Arman 114, Sam 121, Daran and Romina.

The Arman 114 is formerly known as the Adrian Darya 1, a vessel in the center of the U.S.-Iran standoff in the summer of 2019. It was sanctioned by the Trump administration in August 2019, following its attempts to transfer the oil to Syria.

Syria has been struggling with an oil shortage, relying primarily on Iranian help. However, with the burdening sanctions on the two countries, the shortage has turned into a crisis, causing power outages and rationing petrol.

With Obama/Biden back in charge, Iran will do what it wants. Now with the help of the European Union, the US and Iran will hold indirect talks to get the Iran deal back on the table. Per ABC:

The U.S. and Iran are holding indirect talks on Tuesday in what could be the first step toward reviving the 2015 deal that constrains Tehran’s nuclear facilities in exchange for sanctions relief.

The meetings, hosted by the European Union, will work toward two separate agreements — on how the U.S. and Iran can both return to compliance with the deal’s terms.

It’s unknown how much Obama/Biden will give to Iran this time around. In 2016 this was one of the main reasons Americans voted for President Trump. Giving billions to Iran was giving billions to our enemy.

The United States is prepared to remove sanctions on Iran to resume compliance with the Iran nuclear deal, including those that are inconsistent with the 2015 pact, the U.S. State Department said on Wednesday, without providing details.

Japan Says Dumping Fukushima Radioactive Water in Pacific Ocean is Now “Unavoidable”

While Japan last month marked the 10th anniversary of the devastating 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami with solemn ceremonies, the government has also been stressing the successes of its recovery efforts in the country’s northeast.

In truth, however, the country is still coping with the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi disaster, which has already cost Japan trillions of yen and whose exclusion zone will require up to 40 more years to fully rehabilitate.

And with contaminated water continuing to build up at the ruined Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga says that the government must finally begin dumping it into the Pacific Ocean.

With nuclear waste and fuel rods still contaminating the area, over one million tons of radioactive waste water continue to seep from the facility, according to The Japan Times, forcing authorities into what Suga describes as the “unavoidable” position of having to dump the water.

Officials claim that the water would be purified to the maximum extent possible, but environmentalist groups like Greenpeace warn that the water contains hazardous material that could damage human DNA and the health of marine life.

Fishers also fear that consumers will refuse to buy fish caught in contaminated waters, worsening their plight amid a restriction of imports from Fukushima prefecture imposed by 15 countries and regions.

Regardless, authorities argue they must deal with the cards that have been dealt.

“What to do with the [treated] water is a task that the government can no longer put off without setting a policy,” Japanese trade minister Hiroshi Kajiyama said on Wednesday.

Suga is expected to formally decide on the course of action by next Tuesday. If he proceeds, authorities will dilute tritium to 2.5 percent of the maximum concentration allowed by the country before it is dumped.

But while Japanese officials say that the water will be safe, it remains an open question whether people will trust their word.

Billionaires club grew by nearly a third, to 2,755, during pandemic

The number of newly minted and reissued billionaires soared last year, Forbes reported Tuesday in its annual ranking, a staggering accumulation of personal wealth that stands in sharp contrast with the widespread economic struggles unleashed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The number of billionaires on Forbes’ 35th annual ranking swelled by 660 to 2,755 — a roughly 30 percent jump from a year ago — and 493 of them are first-timers. Seven of eight are richer than they were before the pandemic. Forbes calculates net worth by using stock prices and exchange rates from March 5.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with an estimated fortune of $177 billion, topped the list for the fourth year running. Tesla chief executive Elon Musk came in at No. 2 at $151 billion. The shares of both companies soared last year, largely contributing to both men’s net worth and causing them to toggle for the “richest man” title on various lists.

Bezos, who will step down as Amazon CEO and become executive chairman later this year, owns The Washington Post and Blue Origin, an aerospace company that is developing rockets for commercial use.

A representative for Amazon declined to comment. Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

World’s richest men added billions to their fortunes last year as others struggled

Dan Romanoff, a Morningstar equity research analyst who covers Amazon, said the company seized 42 percent of the e-commerce as the pandemic fueled a surge in online shopping.

“Amazon had a phenomenal year, from a financial perspective,” he said. “They are pretty much the only game in town.”

The company’s revenue grew nearly 38 percent year-over-year in 2020, according to an earnings report filed in February, and its stock price has jumped more than 60 percent in the past year. On Tuesday, Amazon closed at $3,223.82, giving the company a market capitalization of $1.6 trillion.

“From the shareholder perspective, an outstanding year,” he said. “And if you’re Jeff Bezos … he owns a nontrivial stake in the company so his shares were obviously up.”

Bezos had a nearly 11 percent stake as of February, according to regulatory filings.

Musk owns 21 percent of Tesla, according to Forbes, which closed Tuesday at $691.62 and has spiked more than 530 percent in the past year. His rocket company, SpaceX, is valued at $74 billion, the report said.

Australian Antarctic supply ship erupts in flames

An investigation is underway after an Australian Antarctic resupply vessel erupted in flames with more than 100 crew on board.

The MPV Everest was making its way to Hobart, Tasmania when a fire began in the engine room just after 2pm on Monday.

The ship was located about 550 nautical miles north-east of Mawson Station in Australian Antarctic Territory and had 109 crew and expedition staff on board at the time.

We wish to draw your attention to the dangerous situation that exists in Ukraine today, where there is growing risk of war unless you take steps to forestall such a conflict.

At this juncture, we call to mind two basic realities that need particular emphasis amid growing tension between Ukraine and Russia.

First, since Ukraine is not a member of NATO, Article 5 of the NATO Treaty of course would not apply in the case of an armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Second, Ukraine’s current military flexing, if allowed to transition into actual military action, could lead to hostilities with Russia.

We think it crucial that your administration immediately seek to remove from the table, so to speak, any "solution" to the current impasse that has a military component. In short, there is, and can never be, a military solution to this problem.

Your interim national security strategy guidance indicated that your administration would "make smart and disciplined choices regarding our national defense and the responsible use of our military, while elevating diplomacy as our tool of first resort." Right now is the perfect time to put these words into action for all to see.

Randi Weingarten Tells Jews Not to Criticize Teachers’ Unions: ‘American Jews Are Now Part of the Ownership Class’

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) president Randi Weingarten, who leads the nation’s most powerful teachers’ union, has a message for fellow Jews: they should not criticize the unions, because they are part of America’s “ownership class.”

Weingarten’s comment, which invoked a stereotype of wealthy Jews commonly viewed as antisemitic, came during a recent interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Reporter Laura E. Adkins commented: “I think some people are very skeptical of the power that they perceive teachers unions to have. They look at, for example, the ongoing struggles in Los Angeles, where they see this big dollar figure of aid being given for school reopening and are baffled by the perceived resistance of teachers to going back to work.”

Weingarten responded:

I have a very pointed response here for Jews making this argument.

American Jews are now part of the ownership class. Jews were immigrants from somewhere else. And they needed the right to have public education. And they needed power to have enough income and wealth for their families that they could put their kids through college and their kids could do better than they have done. Both economic opportunity through the labor movement and an educational opportunity through public education were key for Jews to go from the working class to the ownership class.

What I hear when I hear that question is that those who are in the ownership class now want to take that ladder of opportunity away from those who do not have it. Am I saying that everything we do is right? No. Are people in Los Angeles fearful? Yes.

United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA), the main public teachers’ union in Los Angeles public schools, had resisted returning to schools until a recent agreement was struck to adopt a hybrid model. The union also claimed last month that a reopening plan approved by Governor Gavin Newsom and state Democratic Party leaders was perpetuating “structural racism.”

Knoxville Resident Arrested for Attempting to Provide Material Support to ISIS.

Knoxville resident Benjamin Alan Carpenter, also known as “Abu Hamza,” was arrested on March 24, 2021, for “attempting to provide material support and resources” to the “designated foreign terrorist organization” the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).

A federal grand jury indictment was returned on the case, thus causing his arrest, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

On April 5, 2021, a detention hearing was held for the 31-year-old Carpenter, with the verdict still pending, and his trial is set for June 1, 2021, before United States District Judge Katherine A. Crytzer.

Carpenter is a US citizen and the alleged leader of Ahlut-Tawhid Publications, “an international organization dedicated to the translation and publication of pro-ISIS and official ISIS media in English.”

Carpenter further provided English-language translations of “ISIS media content” for use by ISIS to an individual he believed to be an ISIS associate, but who was actually a covert FBI employee.

The DOJ states that Carpenter’s case was investigated by the Knoxville Joint Terrorism Task Force, an agency comprised of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

John C. Demers, Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the U.S. Department of Justice, was one of the officials who announced Carpenter’s indictment and arrest.

The maximum potential sentence for activities such as Carpenter’s is prescribed by Congress. If Carpenter is convicted, he could receive a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

Grechin is believed to be the man seen in an image taken in the same hotel room where a now-notorious balcony photo was taken just moments later.

In it, the man sits at a grand piano while surrounded by 19 naked women - two of whom are models who were identified as taking part in the photo shoot which drew the attention of Dubai police.

Video: Oil Refinery in Mexico's Veracruz Hit by Explosion, Heavy Fire – Authorities

An oil refinery in the city of Minatitlan in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz has been hit by an explosion and large fire, the nation's Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (ASEA) said.

"The ASEA agency is tackling the incident that is currently ongoing at the Lazaro Cardenas oil refinery in Minatitlan, the state of Veracruz. The incident is associated with the inflammation of a fuel pump," ASEA director Angel Carrizales said late Wednesday.

Mexican media reported an explosion before the fire, citing eyewitnesses.

There are no reports of casualties in the incident.

Federal regulators should take down websites with hurtful words, says a former Supreme Court chief justice. Beverley McLachlin yesterday said enforcement measures must be taken against internet publishers “hurting our democracy.”

“We need to have, in some circumstances, a takedown mechanism when it’s going to be a threat to life,” said McLachlin.

And what did she just say about the ultimate outcome? Just taking things down?

“There is just so much information that people are ready to believe all sorts of things,” said McLachlin. “So we now find disinformation can be harnessed to be a very powerful force that can threaten democratic functioning.”

Wow. So in order to protect democracy we have to destroy democracy. In order to protect the Internet we must censor the Internet. Especially against :”disinformation”. That’s a word China uses a lot. I might use that too — I think it's disinformation to say Canada is a genocidal regime. I think it “hurts” democracy to say that, to say we’re all racist. That’s “harmful”.

I’m embarrassed that she’s our former chief judge. Instead of spreading liberal democracy to China, she’s trying to spread Chinese-style censorship here. And it’s working.
