Organizations invariably victimize individuals simply because they lack the capacity to treat each individual as such. So they create groups to organize individuals based upon certain observable characteristics, and use those group identities to determine how to treat people. The larger an organization, the more people they need to manage, the broader their groups are and the more individuals get miscategorized.
