Oh it’s about the money, just not for the powers behind the powers. The more visible powers are all about the $ and will do whatever to get more. The powers we don’t really see/know are pure demonic.
I think they’re puppets. They’re so compromised they are powerless to go up against the evil controlling them. That’s the hefty price to get where they’re at
