Oh so sorta like how a hostage negotiator solves the real problem, but done before any hostages are taken. That's a tremendous idea. Truly.
You need to ask yourself why the person would take up a gun in the first place. Perhaps it starts with a prevailing mentality like this towards the "power" of violence represented in mass media. Perhaps that undermines faith in the real power of the Spirit, and in our fellows. You're basically advocating for governing the world through a lens of fear and mortality. It's not really surprising that such a world is scary, yet dying!
Somehow I don't think negotiation or mediation or resolution has much at all to do with domineering or trying to make an edgy person more scared!
There's certainly nothing funny about fear. But it does make one laugh more than apathy
