Based on the error-correction coding in the original Hebrew and Greek, I would say that they are the actual words of God.
Uncertain of the (English, and otherwise) translations. Want to learn Hebrew and Greek. Greek first, as NT seems more relevant to our existence than OT although they are all, "the words of God." Even if Jesus Christ died for my sins, that doesn't mean that "I'm no longer sinning" -- I should still work towards sinning less.
And, repenting is necessary for salvation -- Romans 10:9. No matter what you've done! Those who abominated can be saved, to some others' chagrin perhaps, but, those are the rules; there aren't any exceptions.
If you're still breathing, and your heart is still beating, then you have the required two organs to fulfill the promise made in Romans 10:9. It may still be possible for salvation after death but I don't know anything about that, and will work towards saving my family members while they are still breathing.
