Michael Avenatti: Stormy Daniels hush money may have ties to Russian oligarch

 

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels, said Tuesday money Daniels was paid by Michael Cohen, Trump's personal lawyer, as part of a $130,000 nondisclosure agreement may have links to payments Cohen received from a Russian oligarch.

 

"After significant investigation, we have discovered that Mr. Trump’s atty Mr. Cohen received approximately $500,000 in the mos. after the election from a company controlled by a Russian Oligarc [sic] with close ties to Mr. Putin. These monies may have reimbursed the $130k payment," Avenatti wrote on Twitter Tuesday.
