An Awakening Breathing Experiment / Recipe
Ingredients
-Ability to give yourself cold chills
-Ability to breath
-Ability to not think
-Ability to imagine
Cold Chills have a small starting point. Usually somewhere along the spine. From that point, they spread along the spine, then through the torso (back to front), then outward along the limbs.
Chill Skill:
Initiate cold chills and mentally prevent the spread along the spine. It feels as if a cold sphere is centered at some point along the spine. (note the location)
Breathing is done in a seated position, eyes closed, erect spine (key for experiment).
Breath Skill:
The Breath In
2-3 three seconds to complete, with fully extended stomach. Hold for half a second.
The Breath Out
3-5 seconds to complete, with fully contracted stomach. Hold for half a second.
The Practice
It relies on smooth transition through the In, Out and Holding. When achieved you will feel your mind relax. Usually after a few repetitions.
Mind Skill:
During the experiment the mind has 4 tasks.
First, is to relax and be without thought
Second, initiate the cold chill
Third, restrain the cold chill
Fourth, direct the cold chill
Mixing The Ingredients
Place the Body in Position.
Begin the Breathing.
Use the first repetitions to bring thoughts to 0.
Wait for the Mind to Relax.
Once Relaxed
Give the Mind 3-4 repetitions to become stable in the relaxed state.
Imagine what is needed to create the cold chill.
The moment it starts to form, Imagine the Chill filling a stationary sphere, centered on where it began.
Hold the chill for 1-2 breathes to become stable in its position.
Once Stable
On a Breath Out, from the beginning to end, Imagine the sphere moving up the spine.
On the next Breath In, Imagine the sphere moving down the spine.
Continue this through as many repetitions as you like.
The goal, move it past the base of the skull.
