Not sure about the US, but where I am you need a registered appointment, an ID and an insurance card to get the shot. Appt & time is checked at the entry to the parking lot and again as you enter the building. ID and insurance card matched to appt after a temperature check, and then a shot record card is stamped and your name entered into the data base before you leave.

Thinking it must be similar in the US, talking to acquaintances. Doesn't seem to be a walk in type operation,
