Been watching many of the history channel's ancient technology. So much precision for that many years ago. I may have solved the 'but how did they do that?'

If it's been thousands of years that they allegedly carved hard ass rock with minimal tools, here's one scenario.

What if, at the time it wasn't actually rock ? I think at the time of the carving it was actually clay. Different types of clay. After so long it becomes 'petrified' and become hard as rock. Different types of clay become different types of rocks. What they call an ancient quarry was actually a hill or mountain of clay. Would also explain how they carved out numerous tunnels and even an entire church out of so called rock
