California Man Pleads Guilty To Receipt Of Child Pornography

BUFFALO, N.Y.- U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced today that Jorge Alvarez, 27, of Los Angeles, CA, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. to receipt of child pornography. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum penalty of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Aaron J. Mango, Douglas A. C. Penrose, and Caitlin M. Higgins, who are handling the case, stated that between June 18 and July 23, 2018, the defendant engaged in sexually explicit conversations via Instagram and text message with a 14 year-old female (Minor Victim) who told Alvarez that she was 14 years-old. During those conversations, the defendant sent the Minor Victim naked pictures of himself and discussed having sexual contact with the Minor Victim. The Minor Victim sent Alvarez nude photographs of herself at his request.

The plea is the result of an investigation by the Depew Police Department, under the direction of Chief Jerome Miller; the Cheektowaga Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Sliwinski; and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Stephen Belongia.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Sinatra.

The only thing the U.S. relies on to keep the existence of U.S. dollar is its aircraft carriers, its powerful military, and its technological capabilities. When the U.S. dollar is gone, the military will be gone, and when the U.S. military is gone, the interests of America will be gone, and when the American interests are gone, the U.S. will never attract talents to come here, and then America will be done. Do you think American companies will still be okay? People like Elon Musk would not stay in the U.S. anymore. He could move his headquarters to Hong Kong, Shanghai, or Europe.

This is what Americans must be aware of. Now you see how severe the corruption of the officials in the U.S. government and all kinds of law enforcement agencies has become. Look at their corruption, how they’re being bribed, how ignorant, and how they totally have no idea about the threat of the CCP. This time, the U.S. economy has encountered problems and the gold price has encountered problems. The deep effect of the CCP’s plan to destroy the U.S. with money and its plan to eliminate white people and to create racial conflicts and its BGY plot will gradually become apparent.

Allison C. Lerner assumed the duties as Inspector General of the National Science Foundation (NSF) in April 2009, reporting to the National Science Board and the Congress. As head of the Office of Inspector General she recommends policies for promoting economy, efficiency and effectiveness of NSF programs and operations. She leads efforts to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse; improve the integrity of NSF programs and operations; and investigate allegations of misconduct in science.

Ms. Lerner was appointed in November 2005 as Counsel to the Inspector General at the Department of Commerce, a position through which she acted as the IG’s principal legal advisor and managed the office’s staff attorneys and legal services.

Ms. Lerner began her federal career in 1991, joining the Office of Inspector General at Commerce as assistant counsel, and has been a member of the senior executive service since 2005. During her tenure at Commerce she served as special assistant to the IG, Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Auditing, and Acting Assistant Inspector General for Auditing. Prior to joining the federal government, she was an associate at a law firm in San Antonio, Texas.

In June of 2011, Ms. Lerner was designated by the President as a member of the Government Accountability and Transparency Board. She currently chairs the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency Working Groups on Suspension and Debarment and Research Misconduct.

Ms. Lerner has been honored by the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency (PCIE) with three awards for excellence: in 2001, for her work reviewing the Department of Commerce’s management of 5,000 intra-agency and special agreements worth over $1 billion; in 2002, for her assistance in a complex investigation of false claims submitted under a financial award from the National Institute of Standards and Technology; and in 2005, for her review of a controversial Booz-Allen Hamilton study that recommended significant structural changes to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Finance and Administrative Services.

Ms. Lerner received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. in liberal arts from the University of Texas. She is admitted to the bar in both Texas and the District of Columbia.

DA investigator indicted on drug and money laundering charges

HOUSTON – An investigator with the Waller County District Attorney’s Office has been charged with attempting to possess with the intent to distribute heroin as well as attempting to launder drug proceeds, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer Lowery.

Authorities took Mohamed Ahmed “Alex” Kassem, 46, Houston, into custody today. He is expected to make his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peter Bray at 2 p.m. tomorrow.

A Houston grand jury returned the three-count indictment April 7. It alleges Kassem was involved in laundering of what he believed was $200,000 in drug proceeds in August 2019.

If convicted of attempting to possess with the intent to distribute heroin, Kassem faces up to life in prison as well as a possible $10 million maximum fine. Upon conviction of either of the two counts of money laundering, he also faces up to 20 years of federal imprisonment. The money laundering charges also carry up to a $500,000 fine or twice the value of the property involved in the transaction.

The FBI conducted the investigation with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration and Waller County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alamdar Hamdani and Carolyn Ferko are prosecuting the case.
