Seasons of Obscurity
Do you know that God loves you so much that at times He’ll hide you? He’ll cause you to be overlooked. He’ll cause a promotion to go to your coworker. You can be talented and hidden, anointed and hidden, and have great ideas and hidden. If you don’t understand that God is hiding you, you’ll be frustrated and try to make things happen on your own. Before you see acclaim, you’ll go through a season of obscurity. You have to pass the test when you’re being hidden.
Moses was hidden for forty years in the desert. David was hidden in the shepherds’ fields after he was anointed the next king. Elijah was hidden for three and half years with a widow and her son in Zarephath. It’s a part of the process. When you’re faithful in obscurity, when you do the right thing when you don’t understand it, you are passing the test. You are setting yourself on a launching pad for God to take you further than you ever dreamed.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that are working out Your plan for my life in Your best way, including seasons of obscurity when You hide me away. Thank You that You are preparing me for the next thing You have for me. Help me to always be faithful to You and pass the test. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
