I used to love fresh pineapple, but about 15 years ago, when I was in my 40s, all of a sudden I became allergic to it. Made my tongue and lips swell up.
I can still eat canned pineapple though.

It happened to my niece with peanuts when she was in her 30s. And another niece, when she was in her 30s became allergic to kiwi.
Hmmm. Interdasting. I don't eat mango or papaya except in salsa so that's processed. I am not allergic to latex, but I am allergic to spinach. I developed the spinach allergy around the same time as the pineapple allergy.
I was having a lot of health problems in my 40s. Like autoimmune disorder kinds of problems so I went on a health kick and tried to stop eating junk food and more fruits and vegetables. Then I started having the allergic reactions to pineapple & spinach. So now I joke around and tell people that I'm allergic to fruits & vegetables. Better off sticking to the junk food.
