Confrontation with Russia is in line with a sensationalist media, influenced by neocons, neolibs and flat-out Russia-haters.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough’s belittling comments against fair and balanced Russia related journalism relate to an April 12-13 CNN airing on recent matters concerning Russia and Ukraine. The segment at issue begins with CNN reporter Matthew Chance joining Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the frontline of the demarcation area between the forces of the Ukrainian government and Donbass rebels. Thereafter, CNN news anchor John Vause follows up with longtime US academic/mass media journalist Jill Dougherty.

The false spin is given that Russia increased tension by amassing troops along its border with Ukraine. In actuality, the Kiev regime’s dramatic military buildup near the Donbass rebels occurred beforehand. This oversight is in line with the aforementioned CNN segment misidentifying Ukrainian forces as being Russian.

The CNN bit gives an inaccurate psychoanalysis of what’s motivating the recent Russian military activity. Omitted, is some otherwise valid insight of what could very well be influencing Zelensky and the Russian response to him. Zelensky’s low poll numbers are in part due to the miserable socioeconomic conditions in Ukraine and some faulty decision-making on the part of his government. Unable to get a prompt delivery of Western Covid-19 vaccinations, the Ukrainian government shot down the possibility of acquiring the Russian Sputnik vaccine. That stance can be reasonably seen as a shortsighted nationalist stance. It’s not as if Russia and Ukraine don’t commercially interact. Despite the differences between their governments, Russia remains a key trading partner of Ukraine.

Zelensky won the last Ukrainian presidential election on a platform that wasn’t as confrontational towards Russia as his opponent Petro Poroshenko. The former has since done an about face with brazen comments towards Russia and the Donbass rebels. The same can be said of his statement about Ukraine taking back Crimea (something that the majority of Crimean residents don’t support) and presiding over the closure of some Ukrainian (not Russian) media venues which aren’t so critical of Russia when compared to the Kiev regime’s preferred imagery. (Instead of condemning that move as a violation of press freedom, the Biden administration and some others have hailed that undertaking as a positive act against “Russian disinformation”.)

The Ukrainian government hasn’t made much, if any effort to interact with the Donbass rebels as stated in the Minsk Protocol of 2014. This aspect was casually downplayed by Dougherty in the Q & A with Vause.

Iraqi Sources Reveal New Details About Alleged Attack On Erbil Mossad Center

Ten Israeli intelligence officers were killed or injured in the alleged attack on an information and operation center of the Mossad in Iraq’s Erbil, Iraqi sources reported on April 14.

A special force of the “resistance” in Iraq raided the alleged center late on April 13. The Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) denied these claims, which remains without a proof.

The Sabereen News, a Telegram channel close to pro-Iranian Iraqi groups, was the first to report the alleged raid. The claims made by Sabereen were quickly picked up by news outlets in Iran and other Middle Eastern states.

Citing sources familiar with the alleged operation, the telegram channel identified three of the slain Israeli officers as Manhanen Naom, Ekifa Ame and Beriz Jacob.

“These Zionist officers have intelligence activities at Mossad center in Erbil for several months, and there is accurate information about the location and the type of intelligence activities of the Mossad there, which will be published when necessary,” a report by the channel reads.

A day earlier, Sabereen promised to share photos and a video from the alleged raid in Erbil. However, nothing has been released so far.

The supposed special operation was promoted by some pro-Iranian sources as a response to the recent Israeli attack on Natanz nuclear facility. However, Tehran already responded to the attack by announcing that it will enrich uranium up to 60%. An Israeli vessel was also targeted off UAE coast.

The reports of Erbil raid may be nothing more than a propaganda stunt. Such media tactics were used before by Iran’s supporters on social media.

China Threat an ‘Unparalleled Priority’ for US Intelligence Community: Spy Chiefs

The Chinese regime is on its way to becoming a “near-peer competitor” for the United States and is the “unparalleled priority” for the country’s intelligence community, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) said on April 14.

“China increasingly is a near-peer competitor, challenging the United States in multiple areas while pushing to revise global norms in ways that favor the authoritarian Chinese system,” Avril Haines said at a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence hearing in her first public testimony since being confirmed in January.

The regime “poses an increasingly formidable challenge to the U.S. role in global affairs,” she added.

Haines’ remarks build upon an annual threat assessment by intelligence agencies released yesterday that cast the Chinese communist regime’s push for global power as the leading threat to U.S. national security.

The DNI noted the regime’s “substantial” cyber capabilities that if used “at a minimum can cause localized temporary disruptions” to critical infrastructure in the United States.

Hackers sponsored by the Chinese regime are likely behind a massive global hack of Microsoft email software discovered earlier this year, Microsoft has said. The cyberattack is estimated to have affected tens of thousands of customers and has hit U.S. government agencies and businesses.

CIA Director William Burns at the same hearing described competition in technology, such as 5G and semiconductors, as at the “core of our rivalry with an increasingly adversarial Chinese Communist Party and Chinese leadership.”

On April 11, 2021, a 54-year-old woman from Tulsa, Oklahoma arrived at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge driving a Chrysler Pacifica and a CBP officer referred her for a more thorough examination. With the assistance of a (canine team), officers conducting the secondary inspection were able to discover that the SUV’s gas tank contained alleged liquid methamphetamine. CBP officers discovered a total of 90 pounds (40.86 kg) of the drug worth $1,802,000 which was placed in plastic containers.

Days earlier at the Anzalduas International Bridge, a 26-year-old female United States citizen from Edinburg, Texas driving a Ford Edge was referred for a secondary inspection upon arriving from Mexico. The secondary examination resulted in officers discovering 10 packages weighing 24.65 pounds (11.18 kg) of alleged cocaine hidden within the vehicle. These narcotics are valued at $190,000.

CBP OFO seized all the narcotics, both vehicles and arrested the two women who were ultimately turned over to the custody of agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) as they continued with the investigations.

Border Patrol Capture Sex Offender

CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an illegal alien Tuesday night with a prior conviction for a sexual assault.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:03 p.m., when agents assigned to the El Centro Station encountered a man who illegally entered the United States 29 miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry. Agents placed the man under arrest and transported him to the El Centro Sector centralized processing center for further processing.

Records checks revealed that the man, a 29-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, previously convicted on May 20, 2015, for CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT, out of Waukegan, Illinois. The illegal alien was sentenced to 54 months’ prison for his sex crime.

The man was processed criminally for 8 USC 1326, Reentry of Removed Aliens and will be held in federal custody pending his hearing.

In fiscal year 2021, which began Oct. 1, 2020 El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested and/or removed 18 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.

Guatemala’s President Joins Mexican President and Blames Joe Biden For Border Crisis, ‘Confusing Messages

Guatemala’s president joined Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and blamed Joe Biden for the border crisis during a sit-down interview with MSNBC.

“I believe that in the first few weeks of the Biden administration, messages were confusing. They were compassionate messages that were understood by people in our country, especially the coyotes, to tell families we’ll take the children,” President Alejandro Giammatei said Tuesday. “And children can go, and once children are there they will call their parents.”

President Alejandro Giammatei said that he has seen coyotes carrying out “horrible acts” like tossing toddlers over high walls.

“This is not humane behavior,” he said slamming the Biden Admin’s claims of having a more “humane” approach to immigration.

“What I can say is that no government, no matter how large or strong, can have that gigantic apparatus that would be required to address 30 or 40,000 people in detention centers and have all of them in a status where they are claiming refuge. As we explained, many of these issues can be corrected, but we have to work together,” he said.

Texas, Missouri Sue Biden Administration for Suspending Trump-Era ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy

The attorneys general from Texas and Missouri filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration on Tuesday, seeking to reinstate former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy to curb the surge of illegal immigrants at the border.

“President [Joe] Biden could immediately remedy the influx of crime pouring across our border by reinstating the Migrant Protection Protocols,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement announcing the lawsuit.

“Dangerous criminals are taking advantage of the lapse in law enforcement, and it’s resulting in human trafficking, smuggling, a plethora of violent crimes, and a massive, unprecedented burden on state and federal programs for which taxpayers must foot the bill,” Paxton added.

The Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), commonly referred to as the “Remain in Mexico” policy, was launched by the Trump administration in January 2019 and requires aliens to wait in Mexico for the duration of their immigration proceedings. Before its implementation, thousands of illegal immigrants were released into the United States to await their cases, often disappearing in the country never to be seen again.

Hours after Biden’s inauguration, his administration announced that beginning Jan. 21, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would “cease adding individuals into the (MPP) program.”

“The blame for the current crisis at the Southern border should be laid squarely at the feet of President Biden and his administration,” said Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt. “With border enforcement agencies stretched thin, it’s time that President Biden reinstate President Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols, quell the crisis at the border, and ensure that Missouri and the United States are able to effectively combat human trafficking.”

The two attorneys general claimed in the lawsuit (pdf) that MPP played a “critical role” in addressing the border crisis, and by suspending the program, the Biden administration “ignored the governing legal authority and basic requirements set forth in the Administrative Procedure Act.”

The attorneys general claimed that both Texas and Missouri have been forced to spend significantly more resources to combat human trafficking by drug cartels as a result of the move.

“These crimes directly affect Texas and its border communities, especially given Texas’s strong focus on combating human trafficking both at the border and throughout the State. The additional costs of housing, educating, and providing healthcare and other social services for trafficking victims or illegal aliens further burden Texas and its taxpayers,” the lawsuit states.

Male Fertility: How Everyday Chemicals are Destroying Sperm Counts in Humans and Animals

Within just a few generations, human sperm counts may decline to levels below those considered adequate for fertility. That’s the alarming claim made in epidemiologist Shanna Swan’s new book, “Countdown”, which assembles a raft of evidence to show that the sperm count of Western men has plunged by over 50% in less than 40 years.

That means men reading this article will on average have half the sperm count of their grandfathers. And, if the data is extrapolated forwards to its logical conclusion, men could have little or no reproductive capacity from 2060 onwards.

These are shocking claims, but they’re backed by a growing body of evidence that’s finding reproductive abnormalities and declining fertility in humans and wildlife worldwide.

It’s difficult to say whether these trends will continue – or whether, if they do, they could lead to our extinction. But it’s clear that one of the main causes of these issues – the chemicals we’re surrounded by in our everyday lives – requires better regulation in order to protect our reproductive capacities, and those of the creatures with which we share our environment.

Declining sperm count

Studies revealing declining sperm counts in humans aren’t new. These issues first received global attention in the 1990s, though critics pointed to discrepancies in the way sperm counts were recorded to downplay the findings.

Then, in 2017, a more robust study that accounted for these discrepancies revealed that the sperm count of western men had declined by 50%-60% between 1973 and 2011, dropping on average 1%-2% per year. This is the “countdown” to which Shanna Swan refers.

The lower a man’s sperm count, the lower their chance of conceiving a child through sexual intercourse. The 2017 study warns that our grandchildren could possess sperm counts below the level considered suitable for successful conception – likely to force “most couples” to use assisted reproduction methods by 2045, according to Swan.

Boehner Says Pence Should Command Respect, Has ‘Pretty Good’ Shot At 2024 Nomination

The establishment Republican appears to be throwing his support behind Mike Pence for the 2024 nomination.

Despite aides to the former President declaring that Mike Pence abandoned his loyalty to President Donald Trump and the U.S. Constitution by failing to challenge electoral college votes from states with credible accusations of widespread voter fraud, former Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner claims that Pence should command respect from President Trump’s supporters due to his “loyalty” to the 45th President, and believe Pence has a “pretty good” chance at securing the 2024 Republican nomination.

According to the former establishment Republican Speaker’s new book and recent media interviews, the top 2024 presidential contender is Pence, who should poll “pretty good with the Trump types because you’re never going to find anybody as loyal to the president as Mike Pence was. I mean loyal when it hurt to be loyal.” He went on to claim that, during the 2016 presidential campaign, “Mike Pence stood there like a rock on behalf of Trump and for the next four years did the same thing.”

This runs contrary to remarks made by a former Pence aide that were published by National File. The former Pence aide, who went on to work in the Trump administration, reveals that Pence was working with then-RNC Chair Reince Priebus in a scheme to enact a coup that would have removed President Trump from the 2016 ticket and become the nominee after the tapes of the 45th President engaging in locker room talk were aired in October of 2016. Pence only abandoned this plot when confronted by President Trump.

Boehner also lambasted President Trump for criticizing Pence’s refusal to challenge the electoral votes. “For the president to say what he did about Pence on Jan. 6 was really a sad spectacle,” said Boehner.

The former Republican Speaker’s new book apparently contains passages overwhelmingly flattering toward Pence, who he calls “a fire-eater,” a “good member” and “a calm, collected, unflappable professional” who should be strongly considered as the Republican nominee for President in 2024.

The remarks made by Boehner, who did not serve in the Trump administration, run entirely contrary to those made by Dr. Peter Navarro, the economist who formerly served in the Trump administration as an Assistant to the President, who slammed Pence during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s podcast.

“Mike Pence basically left the [2024] presidential race on January 6,” said Navarro, before adding that Pence’s aide, Marc Short, “is trying to portray Mike Pence as not cutting and running, [but] what he did that day, January 6, on the advice of Mike Short, was to cut and run from the President of the United States and from the Constitution.”

Boehner is remembered as one of the strongest members of the establishment wing of the Republican Party during his time in office, something he proudly defends in his book, in which he bemoans both President Trump and the Tea Party movement that saw many populist Republicans elected to Congress during the Obama administration.

Hillsong shutters Dallas church after reports of pastors’ lavish lifestyle

This Hillsong megachurch branch has been deemed beyond immediate redemption.

Following months of internal scandal and shocking allegations, Hillsong’s founders have informed congregants that the Australia-based institution’s only Texas church will be closing up shop until further notice.

“Many factors, all amplified by the pandemic, have resulted in the difficult decision to pause all operations at Hillsong Dallas for now,” Brian and Bobbie Houston, the husband-and-wife team who co-founded Hillsong and currently share the title of global senior pastors, wrote to congregants in a Saturday email that was forwarded to The Post. “When the time is right and we have identified and trained suitable lead pastors, we will consider relaunching.”

The email goes on to detail a previously unannounced internal investigation into the Dallas branch’s former lead pastors, Reed and Jess Bogard, who quietly and suddenly resigned in January after more than a decade of employment at the once-celebrity-beloved international worship chain. Before becoming top dog at the Texas branch, Reed Bogard served as the head of finances at Hillsong NYC, where former members alleged that he and Jess exploited congregants for free labor and used tithe money to fund their luxury lifestyles.

“We received several complaints regarding Reed Bogard’s failure to uphold the standards of Hillsong leadership. We suspended him from his pastoral duties as we initiated a review into these incidents,” the Houstons wrote, adding that the Bogards “decided to resign” early in the investigation process, which has since concluded. Citing investigation participants’ privacy, the email only vaguely details the pastors as having “failed to meet the commitments and standards” of Hillsong, before offering a brief apology “to those who felt disappointed or hurt.”

The announcement comes as vindication for those who previously spoke out against the Bogards.

“All we ever wanted was acknowledgment of what was happening,” Brandon Walker — who helped the Bogards start the Dallas branch in 2019 and previously talked about excessive spending — told The Post of the email. “Now that we got it, I believe we can finally move on.”

Others, however, believe the megachurch needs to have a much deeper reckoning before it can be anywhere close to redeemed for its leadership failures.

“I am grateful that there has been some action made as a result of person after person sharing their negative experience of Hillsong Church, but there needs to be a lot more progress made by Hillsong Church and specifically Brian Houston in light of all of the stories that have come out recently,” Jenna Babbitt, a current Dallas resident and former Hillsong NYC congregant, told The Post.

“Jess and Reed were a byproduct of an unhealthy spiritual environment that reproduces the same type of leader over and over again,” added Babbitt, who baby-sat for the Bogards during her years in NYC. “The culture of Hillsong is the problem, and the pastors, from continent to continent and coast to coast, are simply the byproduct of the culture.”
