Wisconsin Supreme Court Rules Democrat Governor Tony Evers Does Not Have Authority to Limit Business Capacity

The conservative-leaning Wisconsin Supreme court on Wednesday ruled Democrat Governor Tony Evers cannot limit business capacity without approval from the state legislature.

This is the second time in recent weeks that the Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled that Evers violated the law by circumventing the state legislature.

In late March, the state supreme court struck down Tony Evers’ statewide mask mandate.

There is no statewide capacity restriction currently in place because a state appeals court blocked Evers’ latest Covid order limiting indoor gatherings to 25% of a building’s occupancy in October of last year.

The Wisconsin high court on Wednesday ruled 4-3 on party line that Evers’ order meets the definition of a rule and according to the law it must go through the legislature.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that Gov. Tony Evers’ administration does not have the authority to issue capacity limits on bars, restaurants and other businesses without the Legislature’s approval, a ruling that comes two weeks after the conservative-controlled court struck down the state’s mask mandate.

The Supreme Court ruled 4-3 on Wednesday that the order issued by Evers’ Department of Health Services meets the definition of a rule, which by law must go through the Legislature. The court’s four conservative justices ruled against Evers, while three liberals dissented.

The case was brought by the Mix-Up Bar in Amery and Pro-Life Wisconsin, a group that opposes abortion rights. They argued that the court’s 2020 ruling blocking the governor’s safer at home order set a precedent that requires such moves to be approved by the Legislature.

Although Wednesday’s ruling was a win for small businesses, there are still local ordinances in place that put a cap on how many people can gather indoors.

Baby found dead at Perth private school

Police are investigating the death of a baby found on the grounds of a Perth private school.

The 11-month-old was found at Kingsway Christian College in Perth's north, police said, but would not reveal when the body was found or whether the death was being treated as suspicious.

"Major crime division are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an 11-month-old infant located in Darch," police said in a statement released overnight.

There was a large police presence overnight with major crime and forensics scouring the school.

Evidence has been collected from the scene however, the investigation is in the early stages.

Detectives can not yet confirm whether the child was a boy or a girl, or whether any arrests have been made yet.

Kushner-Linked ‘America First Policy Institute’ Hires Former Spokesman For Anti-Trump Group

Javon Price was formerly the National Spokesman and Vice President of Gen Z GOP.

The America First Policy Institute, one of many organizations set up to carry forward President Donald Trump’s legacy, has hired a staffer who previously served as the national spokesman of an anti-Trump organization.

Javon Price was previously the Vice President of External Affairs and National Spokesman of Gen Z GOP, a Never Trump organization intended to steer the Republican Party away from President Trump’s agenda.

According to CNN, which has published several fawning articles about Gen Z GOP, the group believes that the Republican Party was “hijacked” and moved towards “authoritarian populism” under Trump.

“Over the past few years, our political system has proven broken. Our party hijacked. Our values forgotten. As Republicans, we believe that the party of Lincoln is worth saving from its current flirtation with authoritarian populism. But we do not seek to return to the politics of the past,” Gen Z GOP said in a launch video. “We seek to present a new vision.”

The leader of Gen Z GOP, Mike Brodo, told NPR that he supported Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy. The Spectator USA has reported that Gen Z GOP’s communications director, Ellie Kalisz, is a Women’s March activist and a Hillary 2016 campaign volunteer. In October 2020, Price suggested to Politico that the President’s rhetoric had made it difficult for young black men to support him:

“Price admits that consolidating any sizable Gen Z Black support around the president will be difficult in light of some of his statements.” Price also distanced himself from Trump in remarks to Utah’s Deseret News, stating that Trump’s presidency “didn’t turn out the way [he] hoped”.

“And, lest any question remain, he is no ‘blind’ Trump supporter. ‘Damn straight I voted for the president,’ the 23-year-old told me in early January. ‘It didn’t turn out the way I hoped, but I don’t regret my decision.'”

Price explained his views in a video profile of Gen Z GOP for NBC. “We want to see racial justice in this country, we want to see equality of the LGBTQ+ community, we want entitlement reform, to reform things like social security, which we’re paying into, but won’t get back,” he said.

YouTube Suspends Rebel News over ‘Election Misinformation’

The Rebel News, a leading source of conservative news and commentary in Canada, was suspended for one week by Google-owned YouTube, its primary platform, over a three-month-old video about social media censorship of President Donald Trump.

YouTube is the platform that Rebel News, primarily known for its video content, has relied on the most since its founding.

In a comment to Breitbart News, Rebel News founder Ezra Levant suggested YouTube may be facing political pressure from the liberal government of Justin Trudeau, which has been threatening tech regulation to prevent social media platforms from hosting “hurtful” political content.

The video that YouTube took down is three months old. Its primary topic is social media censorship of President Trump.

“YouTube claims that our video violated the rule against election misinformation, which is defined as content that ‘advances false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches changed the outcome of any past U.S. presidential election,” said Levant.

“Our video didn’t even discuss those issues — it solely discussed censorship of Donald Trump from social media. We made reference to a Trump Twitter video that may, itself, violate that policy, but we referred to that Trump video as an artefact that was being censored — we did not champion Trump’s point of view itself. We talked about how it was being censored. That same Trump video is on dozens of YouTube news channels including CNN, ABC, and the Wall Street Journal.”

“I note that the Canadian election is looming, and Justin Trudeau and his cabinet have clearly called for social media companies to censor what they describe as “hurtful” political content. There is enormous pressure from Trudeau on social media companies. In fact, it is literally the second priority in the mandate letter.”

Rebel News was recently subjected to a study, funded by intelligence agencies in the U.S and Canada, on the topic of “Cyber Elections Forensics,” accusing Rebel News of being an “influence operation.” The word “influence operation,” including “coordinated inauthentic behavior,” is commonly used as a pretext by social media platforms to censor populists around the world, including in Brazil, France, and Italy.

Shooter from “higher elevation” opens fire on police officers in Gaithersburg, Maryland

GAITHERSBURG, Md. – An unknown person reportedly opened fire on police from an elevated position in Gaithersburg Wednesday.

Gaithersburg police officers were called to 392 N Summit Avenue for “parking hazard” around 3:00 pm local time and as officers responded, they were shot at from “higher elevation,” Montgomery County police said.

No injuries were reported and it was unclear if the officers returned fire.
