Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Your World” that she would not support Donald Trump if he were the 2024 Republican Party nominee.

When asked about Trump, Cheney said, “I’ve been clear about my views about what happened on January 6th, about my views of the president’s culpability. I obviously voted to impeach him. I think that it was the gravest violation of an oath of office by any president in American history. For us as a party, we have to be the party of hope and aspirations, and we cannot embrace insurrection and can’t minimize what happened January 6. I think all of us, regardless of partisanship, have an obligation and a duty to the Constitution, a duty to the peaceful transition of power.”

She added, “I think that when you look at the challenges we face today, you look at the real turn towards socialism, that you see coming from the Democrats when you see this decision on Afghanistan. When you see the executive orders, President Biden has signed ending all oil and gas leases on public lands. When you see the massive spending for the Green New Deal. When you see the extent to which they don’t want us to teach kids American history, they don’t want us to teach kids to be proud of this country. Those are all battles that we have to fight. I’m honored to be in and continue to fight and will ultimately that we will win.”

Cavuto asked, “If Donald Trump were the 2024 nominee, would you support him?”

Cheney said, “I would not.”

Democrats to Unveil Court-packing Bill; Expands Supreme Court to 13

Democrats will reportedly unveil a bill Thursday to pack the Supreme Court by expanding the number of justices from nine to thirteen, with the four new vacancies to be filled immediately by President Joe Biden and the Democrat-controlled Senate.

The Intercept reported Wednesday evening:

Congressional Democrats plan to unveil legislation expanding the size of the Supreme Court on Thursday, according to three congressional sources familiar with the closely held measure.

The bill would add four seats to the high court, bringing the total to 13, from the current 9. …

The bill is led by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, Subcommittee chair Hank Johnson, and freshman Rep. Mondaire Jones.

In the Senate, the bill is being championed by Ed Markey of Massachusetts.

The proposal comes less than a week after President Biden signed an executive order creating a commission to study the question of whether the Supreme Court should be expanded. The commission is headed by partisan Democrats. However, left-wing Democrats warned that the commission could be used to thwart their desired changes rather than advancing them.

Democrats began talking about packing the Supreme Court after Justce Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed in 2018. Biden once dismissed the idea, but moved to the left on the issue, as he did on many others. He declined to state his position until late in the 2020 presidential campaign, after the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett, when he proposed the commission.

Expanding the Supreme Court to 13 justices would give liberal justices a nominal 7-6 majority. Congress can set the size of the Supreme Court without a constitutional amendment, though the last president who tried to pack the Supreme Court, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was opposed by his own party.

His effort is viewed by historians as a crude power grab — but one that ultimately convinced the Court to stop striking down his New Deal legislation and to allow government powers to grow.

George Clooney, Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hollywood Studios Sign Letter Opposing Voter Integrity Laws

A slew of left-wing Hollywood celebrities and studios, including Netflix and ViacomCBS, have signed an open letter published Wednesday protesting “discriminatory” voter integrity laws that they believe will be used to restrict voter access.

Among the signatories are George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix, Katy Perry, Samuel L. Jackson, Amy Schumer, Mark Ruffalo, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams.

Studios that added their names to the letter include Netflix and ViacomCBS, as well as the Hollywood talent agencies CAA and UTA.

As Breitbart News reported, hundreds of corporations have signed the open letter, which appeared Wednesday in advertisements in the New York Times and Washington Post. The effort was spearheaded by former American Express chief executive Kenneth Chenault and Merck chief executive Kenneth Frazier, both of whom recently led a group of black business leaders urging corporations to take a stand against election integrity efforts.

While the letter doesn’t mention specific states, the ads appear to be referring to Georgia’s new voter integrity law as well as similar bills currently under consideration in other states.

“We stand for democracy,” the open letter states. “A beautifully American idea, but a reality denied to many for much of this nation’s history. As Americans, we know that in our democracy we should not expect to agree on everything.”

“For American democracy to work for any of us, we must ensure the right to vote for all of us. We all should feel a responsibility to defend the right to vote and to oppose any discriminatory legislation or measures that restrict or prevent any eligible voter from having an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.”

Among the letter’s corporate signatories are Bank of America, Amazon, Twitter, General Motors, Starbucks, Synchrony, Nordstrom, PayPal, Peloton, Pinterest, United Airlines, and Under Armour.

Other Hollywood elites who signed the letter include David Geffen, George Lucas, Shonda Rhimes, Shari Redstone, and Channing Dungey.

Numerous Hollywood celebrities have denounced Georgia’s voter integrity law as racist and a form of “voter suppression.” The Will Smith slavery drama Emancipation is the first major Hollywood production to boycott the state in protest of the law.

Republicans leaders have argued the law is necessary to prevent voter fraud and other illegal activities.

The disgraced politician’s pervy past caught up with him as he sipped java with an unidentified male at Bryant Park on Monday afternoon. Real estate broker and actor Jarrett Sharp told us he was passing by and got so angry at the sighting that he pulled out his camera, rushed Weiner, and shouted, “f–king pedophile, scumbag, c–ksucker!”

An astonished and peeved Weiner responded by repeatedly saying, “F–k you,” seven times.

“I think it’s disgusting that he’s able to sit outside in public. He’s a registered sex offender and I wanted to remind him of that, and raise awareness,” Sharp told Page Six.

This isn’t the first time that Weiner, who went to prison in 2017 after pleading guilty to sexting with a 15-year-old girl, had to face his new identity as a convicted, registered sex offender.

Outraged parents freaked out last year when they learned Weiner was lobbying for more access to his son’s school. Weiner was only allowed to go as far as the gates, but insiders told us he wanted access to campus grounds and events like parent-teacher conferences.

“Parents are very upset. The school has kids that are 16 and 17 — the same age as [the kid] that he was [sexting] with,” an insider told Page Six at the time.

Coincidentally, Weiner’s coffee disruptor said he recently wrapped filming his brother Kyle’s new movie about “politicians and pedophilia.”

“It’s called ‘Sanctioning Evil’ and stars Taryn Manning. It’s in post-production and will be sold to a distribution company by summertime,” Sharp said.

Moscow Calls for Avoiding Military Escalation in Afghanistan Amid US Decision to Reschedule Exit

On Wednesday, Biden declared that the US would begin withdrawing its 2,500 troops from Afghanistan on May 1, with the aim of being completely out by September 11. The Russian Foreign Ministry calls for avoiding a new wave of military escalation in Afghanistan amid the US decision to reschedule the withdrawal of troops for September 11, Russian presidential envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov told Sputnik.

"We would not like to see the further military developments in Afghanistan," Kabulov said, commenting on the US decision.

On Wednesday, the Taliban said that from the movement's point of view, the withdrawal must be completed within the timeframe set in the agreement.

"The US colleagues should now settle this issue with the Taliban movement, with whom Washington signed the agreement. The agreements must be fulfilled," Kabulov added.

The September 11 deadline is quite remarkable since it is the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, after which the administration of George W. Bush launched an operation in Afghanistan against the terrorists of the al-Qaeda group*.

According to Biden, the United States will not leave Afghanistan in a hurry, but responsibly and in coordination with its allies. Meanwhile, according to an agreement concluded with the Taliban by the previous Trump administration in early 2020, US troops are obliged to leave the country before May 1.

Pentagon Refuses to Discuss Reported Cancellation of Two US Warships Passage to Black Sea

The US Department of Defense told Sputnik it was not discussing the reports about the cancellation of the passage of its two warships through the Bosphorus to the Black Sea.

Last week, a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry told Sputnik that Washington had notified Ankara about the passage of its two warships through the Bosphorus to the Black Sea, where they would be from April 14-15 to May 4-5. However, on Wednesday, a representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry told Sputnik that the United States had canceled the vessels' passage.

“We continue to monitor the situation in the region very carefully. We are aware of the reporting about the ships but, for security reasons, we do not discuss these types of operational details. We operate in the Black Sea and many other areas across the entire region on a regular basis, which is all part of our ongoing commitment and reassurance to our NATO Allies and partners,” the Pentagon said on late Wednesday.

The Defense Ministry added that there was no change to the US operational capability or deterrence posture.

The United States' decision to cancel its deployment comes just hours after a squadron of Russian Black Sea Fleet warships took to the water to practice artillery fire.

According to Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Russia was forced to take steps to ensure its national security in the face of the growing US and NATO activities near Russian borders in the Black Sea Region. At the same time, Moscow remains interested in "holding talks on a political settlement."

Elementary school principal arrested, accused of sexually abusing multiple students

HILTON, N.Y. — An elementary school principal has been hit with several felony counts after police say he sexually abused students.

Kirk Ashton, the principal at Northwood Elementary School, faces nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child, six counts of first-degree sexual abuse and five counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct.

Prosecutors allege Ashton’s victims were boys between the ages of 9 and 12.

The Hilton School District released this statement:

“On April 8, the District informed staff and Northwood Elementary School parents about the placement of Principal Kirk Ashton on administrative leave pending an investigation. Late today, the New York State Police informed the District that, following an investigation, Mr. Ashton is being charged with multiple counts of inappropriate sexual conduct with male students.

The School District has been cooperating fully with the State Police. Our primary concern is for our students. Our District crisis team has formulated a plan to support students and staff, and counselors are available for students throughout the day. In addition, the District has been working closely with the Bivona Child Advocacy Center throughout the investigation and will continue to do so.

CIA shocker: Obama fundraiser says he was U.S. intel asset, alleges spy agency 'abuses'

Congress notified that CIA inspector general has received allegations from fund-raiser Imaad Zuberi, including targeting of U.S. lawmakers and misuse of news organization for spy operation.

Imaad Zuberi, a major Democratic fundraiser facing 12 years in prison, has filed an extraordinary complaint with the CIA's chief watchdog alleging he witnessed "flagrant problems, abuses, violations of law" while working as an asset for U.S. intelligence, according to documents and interviews.

Zuberi, of Los Angeles, recently hired the CIA's retired acting general counsel Robert J. Eatinger Jr. to review his case and help to appeal his conviction on a plea deal with federal prosecutors.

After reviewing evidence, including secret communications between Zuberi and his alleged CIA handlers that were enumerated in a secret Classified Information Protection Act filing in his criminal case, Eatinger prepared and delivered two complaints to the CIA inspector general earlier this month.

Shortly afterwards, the former CIA lawyer faxed letters to key members of the House and Senate intelligence committees alerting them to the allegations and offering to share a confidential summary if the IG did not formally open a probe.

New Director of National Intelligence Avril Haynes and CIA Director William Burns also were alerted to the complaints, according to the congressional letters reviewed by Just the News.

Eatinger, a highly respected intelligence community lawyer who retired from the CIA about a decade ago, used unmistakable language drawn from intelligence laws to describe to Congress the nature of Zuberi's allegations.

He wrote that he had "submitted two reports to the Acting Inspector General of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that contained complaints or information regarding serious or flagrant problems, abuses, violations of law or executive order, or deficiencies relating to the funding administration or operations of an intelligence activity."

He added that if the CIA did not confirm it "will forward the reports to the intelligence committees within 14 days, we will do so directly."

Zuberi's legal team spokesman, Chad Kolton, declined comment. A spokesman for the CIA did not immediately return a call and email seeking comment Wednesday night.

Eatinger's letter to Congress did not formally identify Zuberi, but rather stated he was taking the action on "behalf of a U.S. citizen client." But multiple sources confirmed to Just the News that the information in the IG complaints involved Zuberi and that his name appeared in the memos.

For two decades, Zuberi was a larger-than-life figure on the political stage, hobnobbing with Republicans and Democrats alike from California to Washington as he raised millions for campaigns and globe-trotted with a successful international business. He rubbed elbows with Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, all the while keeping his relationship with the CIA mum.

NCAA Threatens to Pull Events From States With “Anti-Transgender” Laws

“The board’s statement was cheered by advocates for LGBTQ inclusion in college athletics”

Leaders of the National Collegiate Athletic Association are throwing their economic weight and influence behind transgender athletes ability to participate in college sports by threatening to pull lucrative championship events from states with discriminatory laws.

The NCAA Board of Governors released a statement Monday reiterating that it will select championship sites that are “safe, healthy and free of discrimination,” following the passage of four laws, and dozens more bills under consideration, that bar transgender women from competing against cisgender women in K-12 and intercollegiate sports. The board’s statement echoed a position and policy created nearly five years ago, when the association moved championship events from North Carolina after state lawmakers approved legislation that barred transgender people from using public bathrooms associated with the gender with which they identity.

“The NCAA Board of Governors firmly and unequivocally supports the opportunity for transgender student-athletes to compete in college sports,” the statement said. “Our clear expectation as the association’s top governing body is that all student-athletes will be treated with dignity and respect. We are committed to ensuring that NCAA championships are open for all who earn the right to compete in them.”

The board warned that it “will continue to closely monitor these situations to determine whether NCAA championships can be conducted in ways that are welcoming and respectful of all participants.”

The board’s statement was cheered by advocates for LGBTQ inclusion in college athletics, who last month urged the association to take a definitive stance against policies in several states that attempt to restrict transgender people’s participation in sports.

Defense Department's 'extremists' happen to look exactly like Trump voters

The Biden administration is on the offensive against extremism. However, it is having trouble defining the term.

The newly installed defense secretary, Lloyd Austin, has signed a memo ordering several "immediate actions," including military-wide "stand downs," to weed out "extremism" in the ranks of the military. Actions also included a review of and update to the DoD's definition of extremism and a review and standardization of the screening questionnaire — "[t]o solicit specific information about current or previous extremist behavior, and to clarify that any demonstrably false answers provided in response could form the basis for punitive action for fraudulent enlistment." Defense officials said the Pentagon is reversing Trump-era policies that banned transgender people from serving in the military. The Pentagon will also issue new rules that will broaden transgender people's access to medical care and cosmetic surgery to imitate members of the opposite sex. Opposition to these policies may be considered extremist.

Democrats are also calling for the vetting of National Guard members. D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser said, "When you have Guardsmen and women coming from all over the nation at this time, I do think that it is prudent to make sure that they are being vetted and that anybody who cannot pledge allegiance to their missions, and may be pulled by other views, needs not only to be removed from this duty, they need to be removed from the Guard." Rep. Steve Cohen claimed, "The guard is 90-some-odd-percent male … only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden. You've got to figure that in the Guard, which is predominantly more conservative — I see that on my social media, and we know it. They're probably not more than 25 percent of the people that are there protecting us who voted for Biden. The other 75 percent are in the class, the large class of folks, who might want to do something." The Associated Press tweeted, "Defense officials tell AP they fear possible inside attack at inauguration and are having National Guard troops in DC vetted."

Throughout the federal government, the consensus is that the greatest threat to the U.S. originates on the right. Former acting secretary of Homeland Security Chad F. Wolf stated, "I am particularly concerned about white supremacist violent extremists who have been exceptionally lethal in their abhorrent, targeted attacks in recent years." Former secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy told the Associated Press, "We're continually going through the process, and taking second, third looks at every one of the individuals assigned to this operation." The military has depended upon slides from the New York Police Department Intelligence Bureau that listed about two dozen symbols, ideologies, and memes considered "associated with or appropriated by domestic violent extremism." The list mentioned right-wing items exclusively. There was no mention of Antifa.

Service members are being screened to determine if their political beliefs are considered a threat. NPR reports that "the Marine Corps found 16 cases of substantiated extremism, mostly postings on social media." NPR does not report on the nature of these social media postings.
