This is not so much an update as to call attention to something I've noticed over the past few weeks.

Sometime, I believe in late March, I started noticing high level executive transports using the FORGE callsign. It's not on the lists of callsigns I'm aware of.

What interested me in this, was that the first bird that got my attention was going between DC and Fort Leavenworth, KS. Fort Leavenworth as any milfags know is the primary US military prison in the system.

Since then I've noticed an increase in exec flights using FORGE and not necessarily going to and from Leavenworth, but other places. Gut tells me this is an activity to monitor, so throwing this out to other PFs to file under 'pay attention'…maybe nothing, maybe something.

09-0017 frequently the POTUS nearby backup bird is landing at JBA after departing the area around…

Greenbriar congressional bunker, near White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Didn't start squawking until airborne and away. Unusual in every way.

Hmmm?

I don't think it's a replacement for PAT…but an operational designator with the PAT universe. I really only pay attention to the medium to heavy exec (~2/3/4 star ish and top SES/cabinet).

Those comms around late March makes me feel better about my estimation of when I first started to notice them.

Is Patrick AFB, FL at Cocoa Beach going to get into the space game?

ANVIS UV18B Twin Otter doing what looks like mapping out flight (or no fly) zones off of PAFB.

Superimposed on a current sectional chart to show that it's not the Kennedy Space Center zones, that look nearly identical, but centered on Patrick instead. The fact that it's all out over the water makes it look like launch restricted area mapping vs just FAA upside down wedding cake areas for busy airports; which would be around the entire circumference.

May you live in interesting times.
