Exiled Gynecologist Exposes Details Of China's Forced Sterilization Of Uyghur Women

A gynecologist who left the autonomous region of Xinjiang, China in 2011 and is now living in exile, has revealed the inner-workings of Beijing's forced-sterilization program of Uighur women, according to a recent interview by The Sankei Shimbun - Japan's 5th largest newspaper (via Japan Forward).

The doctor, 47-year-old Gülgine, immigrated from China to Istanbul, Turkey in 2011. She previously worked as a gynecologist in the city of Urumqi - capital of the autonomous region, where she inserted intrauterine devices (IUDs) "into women's wombs."

"A lot of women were put on the back of a truck and sent to the hospital," she said, adding "The [sterilization] procedure took about five minutes each, but the women were crying because they did not know what was happening to them."

Gülgine herself carried out sterilizations at a hospital in Urumqi, capital of the autonomous region. Showing pictures of T-shaped and U-shaped intrauterine devices (IUDs), she explained that “these devices were inserted into women’s wombs.” -Japan Forward

According to a 2017 New York Times report which detailed China's method of dealing with the country's previous one-child policy, "IUDs used for Chinese women were meant to be left indefinitely, with surgery necessary to take them out." China, meanwhile, has denied the forced sterilizations.

Children’s groups urge Zuckerberg to cancel plans for ‘Instagram for kids’

Dozens of children’s advocacy groups have called on Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to scrap plans for a version of photo-sharing and body-shaming app Instagram for kids under 13, saying it would “put young users at great risk.”

Facebook, Instagram’s parent company, is working on “a version of Instagram that allows people under the age of 13 to safely use Instagram for the first time,” according to a Buzzfeed report last month.

Though Instagram currently requires users to be over 13 years of age, many younger users simply lie to sign up, and once online are exposed to an endless parade of glamorous celebrities and influencers, that has for years been blamed for rising rates of eating disorders, sleep disturbance, depression and suicidal ideation. While these problems are not unique to Instagram, the platform has specifically been identified as a hotbed of bullying and grooming by pedophiles.

Creating a child-friendly version of the app won’t solve these problems, the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood argued on Thursday, in a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Signed by 36 other children’s advocacy groups and more than 60 doctors, lawyers and educators, the letter states that the planned app “is not the right remedy and would put young users at great risk.”

“In the elementary and middle school years, children experience incredible growth in their social competencies, abstract thinking, and sense of self,” the letter reads. “We are concerned that a proposed Instagram for kids would exploit these rapid developmental changes.”

Moreover, the signatories argue that children already using ‘adult’ Instagram are unlikely to “migrate to a ‘babyish’ version of the platform after they have experienced the real thing.”

CDC: US drug overdose deaths surged during COVID-19 pandemic, most since opioid epidemic began

The largest increases happened in April and May 2020, when government-mandated lockdowns were the strictest

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found an alarming jump in the number of drug overdose deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data from the CDC shows that drug overdose deaths in the U.S. increased by nearly 29% during the pandemic.

The CDC report discovered that more than 87,000 Americans died from drug overdose deaths from September 2019 to September 2020. The one-year period death toll is the highest number of overdose deaths ever recorded in a year since the opioid epidemic began in the 1990s, according to the New York Times. Overdose deaths had declined slightly in 2018, the first decrease in decades.

The data was collected by the National Center for Health Statistics, but the CDC noted that the actual number of overdose deaths is likely higher.

"Provisional drug overdose death data are often incomplete, and the degree of completeness varies by jurisdiction and 12-month ending period," the CDC stated. "Consequently, the numbers of drug overdose deaths are underestimated based on provisional data relative to final data and are subject to random variation."

The largest increases in drug overdose deaths happened in April and May 2020, when government-mandated lockdowns were the strictest.

The areas with the largest increases in drug overdose deaths: District of Columbia (61.2%), Louisiana (54%), Kentucky (50%), West Virginia (47.3%), and Colorado (43%).

Also this week, Maryland's Opioid Operational Command Center revealed that 2,773 people died from drug and alcohol overdoses, the most by far in the state since records were kept. Nearly 84% of all reported overdoses were attributed to fentanyl, a synthetic opioid.

Last week, the CDC announced the launch of Overdose Prevention Programs, which will supply the public with rapid fentanyl testing strips.

"The test strips can be used to see if drugs have been mixed or cut with fentanyl," WSPA-TV reported. "The goal is to provide drug users more information, so that they can reduce the chances of overdosing on the drug."

In 2017, then-President Donald Trump declared the national opioid crisis to be a public health emergency.

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health said reasons for increased drug addiction could stem from: "Historically high unemployment rates and preventative physical distancing measures have also exacerbated social isolation and despair, known risk factors for substance use disorders."

A report from the Associated Press released in December found that there were far more overdose deaths than COVID-19 deaths in San Francisco in 2020.

During the coronavirus pandemic, there were also reports of increased suicides of students in Las Vegas, a record-high number of suicidal students in San Francisco, and a 39% increase in suicides in Japan last October.

Federal agents smashed down Samuel Montoya's front door and charged him with four counts

As the Department of Justice continues to hide the identity of the officer who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, the Biden administration has arrested a journalist who recorded her murder.

Ashli Babbitt, the unarmed election integrity protestor and USAF veteran, was gunned down by a Capitol Police officer on January 6th, during the protests at the US Capitol in Washington DC. On Wednesday, the Department of Justice announced that they would not pursue charges against the officer responsible, claiming that there was “insufficient evidence” to determine whether her civil rights had been violated.

Video footage of Babbitt’s killing was seen around the world, documenting the tragic incident, and one journalist who filmed the “clearest” footage was Samuel Montoya, a video journalist from Texas. Montoya, however, was arrested by federal agents on Wednesday morning, and charged with four counts, including “interfering with government business,” and “disorderly and disruptive conduct in a Capitol Building.”

According to the FBI arrest warrant affidavit, Montoya had repeatedly “described himself to others inside the Capitol Building as a ‘reporter’ or ‘journalist’ as he attempts to get through crowds,” but because “no one by that name has Congressional press credentials as an individual or via any other organizations,” he couldn’t apparently count as a journalist, despite documenting much of the day’s events, including Babbitt’s killing, for Infowars, a major media outlet.

Fox News’s Tucker Carlson discussed Montoya’s arrest on his show Wednesday night, noting that his footage proves that Babbitt did not pose a threat to any officers at the time of her death. “We’re grateful we have that tape. If we didn’t, the New York Times would be telling us that Ashli was beating people to death with a fire extinguisher when she was killed,” Carlson said.

Top Lawyer Files FOIA Request To Name Babbitt’s Killer As DoJ Hides Identity, Arrests Reporter Who Recorded Shooting

A FOIA request has been filed to obtain the name of the Capitol Hill police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt on January 6.

Successful trial attorney Norm Pattis, described by the media as being “brilliant and audacious” and a “legal top gun”, has filed a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the name of the Capitol Hill police officer who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt during the civil unrest that transpired in Washington, D.C. on January 6. National File has obtained a copy of the FOIA request.

The Biden administration’s Department of Justice is refusing to name or charge the police officer responsible for Babbitt’s death, despite admitting that the officer had no reasonable cause to discharge his firearm against her. The Babbitt family attorney has pledged to continue fighting on behalf of his clients, and suggested civil litigation against the federal government and the unnamed police officer may be impending.

To further complicate matters, yesterday the Department of Justice took the unprecedented move of arresting the video journalist who captured clear video of the fatal shooting. Many conservatives decried the seemingly political persecution, including Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, who compared the action to authoritarian silencing of dissident journalists that is commonplace in the third world.

“Questions still remain in the public’s mind over whether the officer’s use of force was justified. The United States Department of Justice obviously shared those concerns because it opened its own investigation into whether the officer should be charged with a federal crime,” wrote Pattis in the FOIA request. “That investigation concluded that the officer should not be charged, and the Department publicly announced its conclusion.”

“The public now desperately wants to know why the Department of Justice did not charge the officer. It also wants to know who that officer is,” Pattis explained. “The Department of Justice’s press release offers little information about how it reached its conclusion and the evidence supporting or disproving its conclusion. It offered no clue as to who the officer is.”

“The public’s interest in Ms. Babbitt’s unfortunate death at the hands of a Capitol police officer is more intensified than usual in light of the circumstances ongoing in the United States during 2020 and 2021. The public’s confidence in police officers, prosecutors, and other law enforcement officials is at an all-time low due to the numerous law-enforcement involved deaths that occurred in 2020 and 2021,” Pattis continued, explaining why the officer’s name should be released to his client, Alex Jones’ Infowars.

Meanwhile, journalist Tayler Hansen claims to have identified the officer responsible for the shooting as Lieutenant Mike Byrd, who once left his service pistol unattended in a bathroom and claimed that he “will be treated differently” because of his senior rank. Hansen says that Byrd is apparently in hiding, and is no longer employed or living at his address.

BLM’s ‘Marxist’ Co-Founder Raked in $20,000 a Month as Chairwoman of Jail Reform Group

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation co-founder and executive director Patrisse Cullors, a self-identified “trained Marxist,” raked in upwards of $20,000 a month serving as the chairwoman of a Los Angeles jail reform group in 2019, according to campaign finance records reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Reform LA Jails disbursed a total of $191,000 to Cullors in 2019 through her consulting firm, Janaya and Patrisse Consulting, according to financial records submitted to the California Fair Political Practices Commission. The description for each of the seven reported payments to the Cullors’s firm that year read: “P. Cullors, Principal Officer, Business Owner.”

It’s unclear when exactly Reform LA Jails began paying Cullors through her firm, which is named after the BLM co-founder and her spouse, Janaya Khan. The first payment of $51,000 occurred between January 2019 and the end of June 2019, according to an FPPC report covering that timeframe. The exact date of the payment isn’t disclosed in the report.

Reform LA Jail’s following report, which covered the three-month period starting July 2019 through the end of September 2019, disclosed four payments totaling $60,000 to Cullors’s firm.

Cullors was the only identified manager of Janaya and Patrisse Consulting in its latest report to the California Secretary of State in December.

Reform LA Jails made additional payments of $20,000 and $60,000 to Cullors’s firm between October 2019 and the end of December 2019, an FPPC report covering that timeframe shows.

Cullors is featured prominently on the website for Reform LA Jails, which also goes by Yes On R.

“Our movement — powered by Black Lives Matter, community organizations, and grassroots citizens– collected over 247,000 signatures to put a measure on the LA County March 3, 2020, ballot,” the website states under a picture of Cullors.

Reform LA Jails told the DCNF that it paid Cullors through her consulting firm “market rate compensation for serving as the chief executive of a historic and successful $5 million dollar campaign in California, and far below when taking into consideration the fact that Ms. Cullors ran the campaign without a salary at all for all of 2018.”

“It is sexist and racist to expect an executive level Black woman to not be paid for their work,” the statement said.

The website for Janaya and Patrisse Consulting went offline sometime over the weekend amid reports of Cullors’s real estate buying spree, the DCNF previously reported.

The firm’s website stated it specialized in “Transforming Organizations One Strategic Planning Session at a Time,” according to screenshots posted to Twitter on Saturday by former Wall Street Journal reporter Asra Nomani.

On a page titled “how we help you succeed,” the firm said it provided “one on one coaching, anti-bias training, racial and gender justice training, long- and short-term consulting, media strategy and development, strategic planning, organizational development, creative content creation.”

“‘Freedom fighter’ Patrice [sic] Cullors and ‘staunch Afrofuturist’ Janaya Khan exploit their association with Black Lives Matter to monetize themselves…as capitalists,” Nomani tweeted.

BBC Hosts CCP Linked-Professor to Defend Uyghur Genocide.

BBC hosted Jeffrey Sachs, a professor with extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party, to defend the Chinese Communist Party’s actions against Uyghurs in Xinjiang province.

“Economist @JeffDSachs says China’s human rights abuses in Xinjiang should not prevent the US from engaging with China, considering the US’ own “human rights violations” abroad and at home,” BBC’s Newsnight program summarized on Twitter.

Sachs’s comments, which align with narratives pushed by Chinese state-run media outlets and party officials, follow a National Pulse exposé revealing Sachs’s ties to Chinese firms such as Huawei and United Front influence groups including CEFC China Energy and the China-United States Exchange Foundation.

“I’m not sure why BBC started with listing only China’s human rights abuses. What about America’s human rights abuses,” Sachs begins before adding “The idea that there is one party that is so guilty, how can we talk to them is just a strange way to address this issue.”

Sachs continues, attacking former President Donald Trump and insisting a “significant part” of America is racist:

A significant part of this country is racist, followed a racist president who led an insurrection on the Capitol, and so the framing of this issue is strange.

“So one can make anything one wants but we have really serious human rights violations by the United States abroad, not to mention an insurrection on January 6th in our own country, not to mention the continued massive racism, white supremacism, and abuse of incarceration of hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S.,” he repeated.

Texas Senate Defies NCAA, Gives Transgender Athlete Ban Initial Approval

The Texas Senate approved legislation limiting transgender athletes to competing only in categories that correspond to their birth gender in contravention to the NCAA’s recent decision to allow transgender people to play in their choice of categories.

The Texas bill focuses on “biological sex.” It maintains that athletes born as males will be banned from competing in girls’ sports, although girls would be permitted to play with biological boys if there is no comparable female sport.

“This is about protecting female athletes and recognizing their accomplishments within their biological peer group,” said Sen. Charles Perry, R-Lubbock, author of the bill, according to the Austin-American Statesman.

The Texas Senate’s vote comes on the heels of the NCAA’s warning that it could pull events from states that approve bills restricting transgender athletes.

On Monday, the NCAA Board of Governors insisted colleges and universities that participate in NCAA tournaments must allow transgender athletes to play in any sport they want. The board insisted that it “firmly and unequivocally supports the opportunity for transgender student-athletes to compete in college sports.”

The NCAA added that it is considering pulling tournaments from states that don’t toe the transgender line.

When determining where championships are held, NCAA policy directs that only locations where hosts can commit to providing an environment that is safe, healthy, and free of discrimination should be selected. We will continue to closely monitor these situations to determine whether NCAA championships can be conducted in ways that are welcoming and respectful of all participants.

Texas is not alone in considering laws to restrict athletes from competing in categories that correspond only to their birth gender. Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Idaho have already put similar laws in place. And up to a dozen other states are considering similar measures.

Study Shows Murders Skyrocketing in Anti-Police, Democrat-Run Cities

In 12 American cities run by Democrats, the murder rate is skyrocketing, according to a study by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF).

Nationally, the murder rate has hit a 26-year high.

The LELDF study sees a direct correlation between the Democrat party’s anti-police rhetoric and how Democrat-run cities have turned that rhetoric into action through police budget cuts, mandates that reduce policing efforts such as stops and arrests, a lack of criminal prosecution by far-left prosecutors, and the morale issues that have resulted in a massive number of retirements.

In 2020, across the nation, homicides jumped a whopping 25 percent, which took us all the way back to the bad old days of 1995, the year before a violent crime and murder spree that launched in the 1970s finally started to come to an end.

“This data confirms that in places where law enforcement saw the most resistance from community leaders and calls for less policing, we saw more homicides,” LELDF President Jason Johnson told the Washington Examiner.

He added that, “Progressive prosecutors made it clear that making arrests for drug and weapons crimes that will go unprosecuted only exposes officers to the risk of disciplinary action, lawsuits, and criminal prosecution. So, to mitigate that risk, police took a more passive approach.”

Vladimir Putin Rejects Joe Biden Invite to Meet in Person

The Kremlin announced Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not move forward on an offer from U.S. President Joe Biden to meet in person, at least for the time being, Russian state media outlet RT reported.

Government spokesman Dmitry Peskov cited logistical issues as the main reason for rejecting the White House’s offer to meet “in a third country in the coming months.”

“No, a bilateral meeting of course cannot be organized that quickly,” he asserted.

In March, Putin challenged Biden to a one-on-one online debate after the American leader called him a “killer” and warned Russia would “pay a price” for its international shenanigans, without elaborating.

“I want to propose to President Biden to continue our discussion, but on the condition that we do it basically live, as it’s called,” Putin said. “Without any delays and directly in an open, direct discussion. It seems to me that would be interesting for the people of Russia and for the people of the United States.”

“We could do it tomorrow or Monday. We are ready at any time convenient for the American side,” Putin suggested.

Biden declined to debate Putin.

Biden’s offer reportedly came during a Tuesday phone call that Peskov described as “businesslike” in which Biden allegedly expressed “concern” over Russia’s growing military presence on the Ukrainian border and did not discuss the ongoing political imprisonment of dissident Alexei Navalny, which activists consider one of Russia’s most pressing ongoing human rights violations.

Biden also reportedly discussed his overture to Putin in agreeing to extend the New START nuclear weapons agreement by five years; Moscow had unsuccessfully urged the Trump administration to extend it by just one.

NC High School Coach Killed While Reportedly Robbing Sinaloa Cartel Stash House

A high school basketball coach in North Carolina is dead after he allegedly attempted to steal from a local Sinaloa Cartel drug runner. Police in Alamance County say the coach went with another man to steal money and drugs.

Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson told reporters, “It was believed that this was during a home invasion for money and drugs,” WCNC NBC reported.

Union Academy basketball coach Barney Harris reportedly went to a house on April 8 with another man to carry out the home invasion robbery. During the attempted robbery, a shootout ensued leaving Harris mortally wounded.

Sheriff Johnson said the house was a drug-running operation for the Sinaloa Cartel. Harris, and his brother-in-law Steven Alexander Stewart, Jr., killed the drug runner shortly before the shootout began. Harris, who wore a ballistic vest, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

“I can tell you this right now. When we are dealing with the Mexican drug cartel, somebody’s probably going to die as a result of this right here, somewhere else,” the sheriff said. “And we did not want to put it out there until we could get a good grip of what’s going on here.”

ABC11 reported that Harris and Stewart arrived at the mobile home and found 18-year-old Alonso Beltran Lara inside. The duo allegedly interrogated the cartel member about the location of the stash. When he refused to answer, they shot him in the head, police investigators stated.

“And they were trying to find the money and drugs and apparently he didn’t give them the information to do that and he was technically close range, two bullets to the back of the head, he was executed,” Sheriff Johnson stated.

Investigators found multiple firearms at the scene and described the incident as “an old western shootout.” Stewart managed to escape and was later arrested by sheriff’s deputies. He faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.

Johnson said other mobile homes nearby were struck by gunfire but no one was injured.

“The neighbors are shooting and the bullets are hitting over here in our trailer,” a frightened neighbor said in a 911 call.

Retired FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker told the local NBC affiliate the Sinaloa Cartel has a “significant presence in Alamance County.” The county is located between Greensboro and Durham, North Carolina.

“The cartels are notorious for their violence,” Swecker continued. “They are probably the most violent criminal organization on the face of the earth.”

During the investigation, police seized multiple firearms, $7,000 in cash and approximately 1.2 kilograms of cocaine.

Feds Scrap U.S. Border Patrol Deployment to Mexico-Guatemala Border

Border Patrol is deploying extra resources to South Texas to deal with the current influx of migrants and unaccompanied children. Approximately 300 agents are diverting from interior and Canadian border stations.

As a result, prior plans to send agents to the Mexic0-Guatemala border were set aside.

Although U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has personnel stationed in Mexico to assist in intelligence gathering and cartel investigations, the Border Patrol will not augment them at this time. According to a source speaking on the condition of anonymity, the Biden Administration hopes to focus efforts far from the U.S. border with escalated actions from Mexico and Central America.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced Monday that Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras are focusing efforts to disperse caravans through troop deployments.

Guatemala will deploy 1,500 police and military personnel to its southern border as part of the operation announced by the White House. Honduras added 7,000 police and military to its border “to disperse a large contingent of migrants.” Guatemala will also set 12 checkpoints along the migratory route through that country.

The law enforcement source says the number of apprehensions along the southern U.S. border with Mexico have started to stabilize, potentially as a result of these efforts. According to the source, planning efforts are changing at a rapid pace. With the announcement of nominations for key Homeland Security positions to lead ICE and CBP, that trend is expected to continue.

The Texas nonprofit Family Endeavors was awarded its largest-ever contract in an effort to mitigate the massive influx of migrant children arriving at the southern border.

The $530 million no-bid contract was awarded after Family Endeavors hired Biden transition official Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, Axios reported.

The nonprofit is aimed at helping vulnerable communities through crises. The group announced its hiring of Lorenzen-Strait on January 20 – the same day as Biden’s inauguration – and he took on the role of senior director for migrant services and federal affairs.

Lorenzen-Strait is a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official. He also advised the Biden-Harris transition team on Homeland Security policy and staffing.

President Joe Biden’s administration is scrambling to address the growing immigration crisis as recent numbers show more than 21,000 unaccompanied minors are in federal government custody.

Family Endeavors is part of that effort. The faith-based organization was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

Last month, Biden appointed Vice President Kamala Harris as border czar, but she has since held no events related to the crisis or even taken the time to visit the border or Northern Triangle countries.

On Wednesday morning, Harris is expected to hold a virtual roundtable in her new role.

The Capitol Police had clearer advance warnings about the Jan. 6 attack than were previously known, including the potential for violence in which “Congress itself is the target.” But officers were instructed by their leaders not to use their most aggressive tactics to hold off the mob, according to a scathing new report by the agency’s internal investigator.

A Facebook executive is now on record telling a whistleblower that “state-sponsored” (government-funded) disinformation meant that she had job security. U.S. Intel Walks Back Claim Russians Put Bounties on American Troops

It was a huge election-time story that prompted cries of treason. But according to a newly disclosed assessment, Donald Trump might have been right to call it a “hoax.”

It was a blockbuster story about Russia’s return to the imperial “Great Game” in Afghanistan. The Kremlin had spread money around the longtime central Asian battlefield for militants to kill remaining U.S. forces. It sparked a massive outcry from Democrats and their #resistance amplifiers about the treasonous Russian puppet in the White House whose admiration for Vladimir Putin had endangered American troops.

But on Thursday, the Biden administration announced that U.S. intelligence only had “low to moderate” confidence in the story after all. Translated from the jargon of spyworld, that means the intelligence agencies have found the story is, at best, unproven—and possibly untrue.

“The United States intelligence community assesses with low to moderate confidence that Russian intelligence officers sought to encourage Taliban attacks U.S. and coalition personnel in Afghanistan in 2019 and perhaps earlier,” a senior administration official said.

“U.S. intelligence only had ‘low to moderate’ confidence in the story. Translated from the jargon of spyworld, that means the intelligence agencies have found the story is, at best, unproven—and possibly untrue.”

“This information puts a burden on the Russian government to explain its actions and take steps to address this disturbing pattern of behavior,” the official said, indicating that Biden is unprepared to walk the story back fully.

Significantly, the Biden team announced a raft of sanctions on Thursday. But those sanctions, targeting Russia’s sovereign debt market, are prompted only by Russia’s interference in the 2020 election and its alleged role in the SolarWinds cyber espionage. (In contrast, Biden administration officials said that their assessment attributing the breach of technology company SolarWinds to hackers from Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service was “high confidence.”)

“We have noted our conclusion of the review that we conducted on the bounties issue and we have conveyed through diplomatic, intelligence, and military channels strong, direct messages on this issue, but we are not specifically tying the actions we are taking today to that matter,” a senior administration official told reporters in reference to the bounty claims.

According to the officials on Thursday’s call, the reporting about the alleged “bounties” came from “detainee reporting” – raising the specter that someone told their U.S.-aligned Afghan jailers what they thought was necessary to get out of a cage. Specifically, the official cited “information and evidence of connections to criminal agents in Afghanistan and elements of the Russian government” as sources for the intelligence community’s assessment.

Without additional corroboration, such reporting is notoriously unreliable. Detainee reporting from a man known as Ibn Shaikh al-Libi, extracted from torture, infamously and bogusly fueled a Bush administration claim, used to invade Iraq, about Saddam Hussein training al-Qaeda to make poison gas.

The senior Biden official added on Thursday that the “difficult operating environment in Afghanistan” complicated U.S. efforts to confirm what amounts to a rumor.

Judicial Watch Sues for Records about Reparations Program in Evanston, Illinois

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the city of Evanston, Illinois for records about its controversial, taxpayer-funded “reparations” program (Judicial Watch v. City of Evanston (No. 2021 CH 01761)).

On March 22, 2021, the Evanston City Council adopted Resolution 37-R27, authorizing the implementation of the Evanston Local Reparations Restorative Housing Program and Program Budget. The program allocated $10 million to provide $25,000 to Black/African American individuals who are either Evanston residents or direct descendants of Evanston residents to the exclusion of all other residents or direct descendants of residents.

Concerned that this program violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution as well as other state and federal laws, Judicial Watch opened an investigation into the program and requested information under the Illinois FOIA. Specifically, Judicial Watch requested:

A. Records identifying discriminatory housing policies and practices that the Restorative Housing Reparations Program seeks to remedy;

B. Records identifying the ways in which the Restorative Housing Reparations Program will remedy discriminatory housing policies and practices; C. Records identifying all methods of remedying discriminatory housing policies and practices the Evanston City Council examined before enacting the Restorative Housing Reparations Program;

D. Records identifying all reasons why the Evanston City Council enacted the Restorative Housing Reparations Program instead of any alternative method of remedying discriminatory housing policies and practices;

E. Records relating to the development of criteria by which recipients of Restorative Housing Reparations Program funds will be selected;

After Evanston officials failed to search for and provide the requested records, Judicial Watch sued in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.

Pfizer CEO: Third COVID-19 vaccine, annual booster shots likely scenario

Pastor, girls high school basketball coach among 79 arrested in Hillsborough County human trafficking operation

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday over 70 men were arrested as part of a week-long operation aimed at combating human trafficking.

“Operation Takedown” took place from March 30 to April 9, leading up to WrestleMania, and is the second human trafficking operation conducted by the sheriff’s office this year ahead of a large-scale community event.

Sheriff Chad Chronister said detectives went undercover and conducted chat, hotel, and streetwalker operations that led to the arrests.

Among those arrested include 39-year-old Earnest Benjamin, a local pastor at Breath of Life Worship Church in Tampa, and 39-year-old Christopher Ray, a girls high school basketball coach at Land O’Lakes High School.

“Both of these men, trusted and revered members of our community, were arrested for soliciting another to commit prostitution,” Chronister said.

During Thursday morning’s press conference, Chronister also mentioned Benjamin received two charges of contributing to delinquency or dependency of a child because he had his two small children in the car while “soliciting someone for the acts of a sex trade.”

Forty-four-year-old Jason Brooks of Tampa and 32-year-old Jamel Muldrew of Houston, Texas, were also arrested on human trafficking charges. Deputies say Brooks was arrested after he responded to a decoy prostitution advertisement. He believed he was going to pay for sex with a 17-year-old girl.

According to the sheriff’s office, Muldrew had been transporting a 17-year-old girl for the sole purpose of commercial sexual acts. In addition to his one count of human trafficking, Muldrew faces charges of transporting for prostitution and deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution.

Uber driver reported suspicions to police

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - On November 11, 2020, an Uber driver called police from Linkhorn Circle after he reported a suspicious circumstance, according to documents.

Records state he said he had a young female passenger who did not know who she was meeting, and he said the situation seemed odd.

When police arrived, the girl allegedly told them a 25-year-old woman forced her to go to Virginia Beach from New York in June.

That woman was arrested for pimping, prostitution, contributing to the delinquency of child abuse, sex trafficking and several other charges.

Omel Mclean is also facing the same and additional charges. The two are from New York City.

News 3 reached out to the woman in jail and interviewed her exclusively.

We are not identifying her because she said she has been the victim of sex trafficking since she was 14 years old. She said she has grown tired of the lifestyle and was disgusted by it. She said in a way, she is glad that she has been arrested along with Mclean.

“I, over and over and over again, had to watch the same thing that happened to me happen to other females, so I’m kind of happy it’s happening, but it makes it worse because I’m caught in the middle of it,” she said.

She said she has to turn over all her money, faces constant violence and has no form of identification.

She said the teen was from Connecticut.

Documents state the teen told authorities that she met up with the woman and Mclean in New York City, where she was told to wear wigs and dresses as they took pictures.

Documents state the teen said the woman was given condoms and marijuana and purchased two tickets from Manhattan to Norfolk.

Records say the teen had all her money taken and that the man came down about a week later to collect it.

She said she would see about five clients per day.

“That was something we all do. She saw five clients; I see more than five clients a day. I’m not saying it in a way that I don’t have emotions towards it… we know what we signed up for,” said the woman.

Documents state that after a few weeks, the teen said she tried to get away with the help of a client. Documents state that the woman threatened her and said someone would kill her.

The woman denies threatening the teen and said she tried to help her get away.

NEWARK, N.J. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested one of ICE’s 10 Most Wanted in New Jersey Wednesday, a previously removed, aggravated felon from Guatemala, convicted of child endangerment involving the production of child pornography, with outstanding warrants for a parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender.

Anibal Garcia-Jerez was arrested April 14, by ICE officers in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. He had previously been removed by ICE officers in 2018, after he was turned over to ICE following the completion of his sentencing. He later illegally reentered the United States, making him an ICE fugitive.

Garcia-Jerez is considered an ICE enforcement priority due to his aggravated felony history. In January 2017, the Bergen County Superior Court, New Jersey convicted Garcia-Jerez for the offense of felony endangering the welfare of a child (photograph or film a child in a prohibited sex act) and sentenced him to three years confinement.

Garcia-Jerez was initially encountered by ERO officers on April 6, 2016, at Bergen County Jail while being held on the pending charges for which he was later convicted. ICE lodged a detainer and on March 15, 2018, while serving his sentence with the New Jersey Department of Corrections, he was served with a notice to appear in immigration court. On July 20, 2018, he was taken into ERO custody and on October 25, 2018, he was ordered removed to Guatemala.

“This is a clear case of an individual who, in addition to reentering the United States after being removed, poses a clear danger to the community, particularly our most vulnerable citizens: children,” said Field Officer Director John Tsoukaris, of ERO Newark. “The continuous and dedicated efforts of the courageous men and women of ERO led to this significant arrest.”

ICE is now implementing the interim civil immigration enforcement priorities directed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to focus its limited resources on threats to national security, border security and public safety. ICE continues to carry out its duty to enforce the laws of the United States in accordance with the Department’s national security and public safety mission.
