Anon looked into solar for the house. Found out there was no storage, only generation in the proposal. Lost interest real quick, but the sales people kept pushing. They backed off when anon asked why would I want to spend $100 a month in interest to save $10 worth of electricity.

Not to mention the potential AC/DC conversion results in about a 50% loss. Better to take the DC generated, store it in batteries and run most of the house (laptops, some small appliances, radios etc.) on DC and use grid-derived AC for the big stuff such as HVAC, laundry, tools, add a charger and inverter for the times when conversion is needed, but that should be minimal.
