>It’s 1/10,000 smaller than a human hair strand!

No. Single elements, of the billions that are in the chip, may have features that are that small.

When they talk about the 5nm chips - 5nm is the smallest feature size (ie. the width of the transistors, the wires that connect the transistors, etc.)

The chip itself contains billions of those.

To get that small, it IS a very hard process.

Okay, here's the previous sentence.

>Let’s also not ignore the fact that these semiconductor chips are smaller than human hair! How small? It’s 1/10,000 smaller than a human hair strand!

That's simply not true. If you have some source to indicate otherwise, please share.

Intel bringing chip-making back to the states?

"The new CEO also ring-fenced $20bn to build a pair of new fabs in Arizona, USA, which he said will help the foundry business and generally ensure Intel has the capacity it needs. Future investments in the European Union and America were mentioned, including an Intel bid for a fab dedicated to military applications."

As my old cellphone has a bulging battery, and my computer is bulging a second time (thanks Apple for not agreeing to fix it again), I realized the following:

The battery charging circuitry is programmable - that is, it turns off when the battery is charged enough, so as to not cause an explosion.

It may be possible to remotely target a device and change the parameters for battery charging to remove those limitations and cause explosion or fire.

Just speculating.
