I'm personally not a fan of digital anything, because I know that everything is compromised and you will leave a data trail.

I prefer to preserve my privacy, not because I do illegal shit, but because I don't like people snooping around in something that is not their business.

 

Right now I would even go so far and say fuck digital money transactions, because everything is comp'd.

 

Do we need banks, I'm not sure.

Keeping all gold at home would be stupid.

What do you do when someone wants to deposit gold? Who verifies that it's real pure gold? How do you verify such gold? Can you do it yourself?

 

Although I'm not a fan of banks and I think they are evil, I could see at least some use for some kind of bank.

I wouldn't even have a problem with it being government controlled, because that could be one of the very few things a government possibly should be involved in - protect people from fraud. Maybe we wouldn't need private banks, at the same time I think government should only have as much power as needed. It gets very difficult.
