There's some legit "anime" that has 0% sexualization of young females.. but there is definitely an unhealthy trend that has been growing in it for the past 30 years, and pedophilia probably at least makes a cameo appearance in 80% of Anime..

One that comes to mind is the recent castlevania series.. which is Ironic because it very much as a "The devil could possibly be humanities ally" theme to it, yet no sexualization of young female characters and even very limited, perhaps tasteful, sexualization of the adult female characters.

shit now that I think about it.. I may have forgotten some of the vamp characters weird sexuality.. like i remember that character having some weird kinks but I don't remember where all it goes with it, but she's at least depicted as an adult and evil…. i could be totally off about that one.. but I've had dudes recommend some anime to me and I"m like "sure its not too weird" and they're "nah its good" and then I couldn't sit thru the first episode nor could I ever look at the guy the same way after he recommended it.

But here's castlevania, which gets pretty fuckin dark and doesn't focus on little kids…Yet there are "harmless" anime marketed towards kids which constantly slip in underage sexuality..

I agree with the general sentiment.. its a diseased genre even though it COULD just be a beautiful animation style..

Personally the ridiculously oversized weapons is another huge problem that turns me off to it.

IF anyone has any appreciation for it whatsoever though, I would definitely recommend "one-punch man." It artfully & hilariously ridicules its own genre's overstatements.
