Correct, no government workers should be allowed to unionize, and it makes a mockery of the entire purpose of unions. The only exceptions may be emergency services like police and fire dept, but they are already toothless since they can't strike. Unions negotiate with private companies to ensure fair wages, treatment, etc... that private for profit companies otherwise not provide. Because our government in theory is of the people, for the people, and by the people, it means they and every other American already has a say in the negotiation process by voting. So by forming a union and lobbying, it's like all government workers really get multiple votes when it comes to issues that directly benefit themselves. The money that goes to pay their raises and expand their fiefdoms doesn't come the voluntary exchange of goods and services, it's being confiscated from the taxpayer at the barrel of a gun.
